Basil Eggplant with Shrimp & Pork!
    Lori R.

Have enjoyed a couple really good Thai meals from here. One meal we had delivered and were impressed, so it was time to try it in person. I was not a fan of the previous Thai restaurant in this location, but this version is doing some really good things. There are booths and tables, relatively stark atmosphere, but nice and clean. Sis and I went for lunch. There is no lunch menu, so do know they are dinner prices, but also dinner portions. We both took home enough for another meal. She had the basil eggplant dish that also has pork and shrimp. I had had that one at home and really liked it, as did she. I tried the chicken basil, which is loaded with green and red peppers, and uniquely, the rice was topped with a fried egg. Genius! Both of our dishes had a nice amount of Thai basil, which is always appreciated. There are a lot of noodle dishes on the menu which we will have to try at some point. They do not make the noodles in house, but I sure bet they know how to prepare them. Love that there's plenty of easy parking right out front. Service was friendly and efficient.

I've been to every Thai restaurant that has been in the building and it's always been authentically good. I got the Tom Yum vegetable and Pad Kee Mao noodles (hot) and it was delicious. The soup had a good amount of veggies and was a pretty big portion for being a small size. The noodles were chewy and it was the perfect veggie to noodle ratio. The server greeted me promptly and took my order quickly. The space is exactly how I remember it with the last owner but very inviting and the typical Thai wooden decor. Overall I had a great experience, would definitely come back.

I passed this place on my way home the other day and never saw it. I love Thai food and my favorite spot is all the way in wake forest so I went for the first time tonight. They close at 9pm on weekdays so I cut it a little close but the servers were very accommodating and attentive. The food was great I got the Bangkok Duck and Coconut cake. Both for a pretty reasonable prices. The inside was super nice, a great spot for lunch with friends. Don't be like me and go 30 minutes before close I would've loved to sit inside and draw fir a while. Great spot glad I tried it.

Food is subpar. Walking in on a lunch shift, there was only one table and one server and sounds like one chef. We had to ask for chopsticks and serving utensils more than once. Every dish was sweet. The tom kha soup was just chicken and mushroom and cilantro. No lunch specials or was not offered to us.

When you Walk in, it almost feels like a log cabin. Service was very kind poor, thing was the ONLY waitress. We ordered the thom kha soup. The soup was very simple and very sweet. Tasty, but sweet. Different for a thom kha. I couldn't taste the lemon grass at all. Then we ordered a beef pad thai; again very sweet. Every thing tasted a little too sweet.

The day before my due date, I decided I wanted some spicy thai food for takeout. I did some research on thai food near me and discovered Thai Twist Noodle House! I placed the order 5 hours ahead of time. When I showed up, the order was ready right on time and the food was piping hot! I ordered the Panang curry (spice level: hot) with added broccoli, cabbage, and bamboo shoots. My husband ordered his usual: pad thai with chicken and extra broccoli (spice level: medium). We split the tom yum soup. The soup had a nice bright, acidic flavor from the lemongrass which helped mellow out a bit of the spice that the soup had. It was a lovely starter to a spicy meal. The pad thai was the perfect, classic pad thai with a great nutty, savory, umami flavor. The panang curry had that strong peanut flavor you crave from a panang curry. The hot spice level was fairly hot on the back end, though I could have gone spicier. This is a great thai place that will be my new go-to for thai food!

The food is so ultimately delicious that it's like having a birthday party for your sense of taste! The pad Thai is yummy, the coconut soup is heavenly, the crab Rangoons are munchie and tasty, the teas are refreshing and perfect for my palate! If you want a yummers deliciouso fantastic meal, you found the spot!

This was amazing!!! I am allergic to MSG and they do not use it in any of their food. I will go back.

Red Curry...? I can't remember which they ordered, with tofu, spice level 5 (yikes)

6:30 on a Friday and it wasn't crowded at all... But it should be! Everything was fresh and delicious. Service was good and the open dining room was clean and comfortable. If you like Thai food then give this place a try. You'll probably have as much trouble deciding what to order as we did. Spice levels are 1-5, 2 is their mild and I found 3 to be perfect. It was definitely spicy though, so if you have a sensitive pallet stay below 2! Next time for sure, something with duck!

Very happy we found this place. Cozy ambience, good service, prices are about right for what you get, but most importantly the food is delicious. Some of the best pineapple fried rice I've ever had

Everything was very delicious! Prices are a little high but I'm not mad at it. Service was very attentive and they are super nice. Spice level was good I would say get spicy level if you want medium level. I would definitely come back.

Food was generally subpar and bland especially the pad Thai and drunken noodles. Was also very expensive for small portions.

The pad Thai noodles taste like package ramen noodles. A little bit overcooked. As well dry . It's not a dish I would order again.

Noodle Blvd is located in a spot that you could easily miss, but it's easy to get back on track. I pulled into the gas station parking lot beside the restaurant, then just turned right into the restaurant parking lot. The parking lot is fairly small, so be warned about that. My friend was there when I arrived, and he sat at the bar. When I walked in the door, I was greeted with smiles and waves. It was very inviting, which is fitting for a ramen restaurant. My friend ordered us Lychee Margaritas, and oh my goodness, it was so good! We decided to visit right at opening on a Saturday, so the bartender was still preparing some of the ingredients needed for the margarita. The bartender informed us that it's usually better once a key ingredient sits for a while, but I loved the drink regardless. I ordered edamame for an appetizer, which came quickly and was good! Since I've never had ramen before, I asked our server what he recommended, and he told me about some of their most popular dishes. He told me the N9. Chicken Curry Ramen was a favorite of his and the patrons, so I decided to order that. It came quickly, and I was immediately in HEAVEN upon my first bite. I loved every bite after! I decided to play it safe with the spice and got level 2, but I can definitely go up a level or 2 since I love spicy. Highly recommend, and I will be back! Worth the drive from Clayton, where I live.

The short rib ramen was good, but the noodles were short, like they were cut or made short on purpose. The shrimp shumai was disappointing. Small bite sized portions, but they were soft. After cutting into one, I found out that they use rice as a filler with a bit of shrimp. I've never seen rice used in shumai, unless it's Shanghai sticky rice shumai. Also got a unagi don togo, it was good, just a bit small on the portion of eel, but it's hard to mess up an unagi don.

The shredded chicken was tender and generously portioned, and the soft-boiled egg was cooked perfectly with a rich, jammy yolk. A friend ordered the Spicy Tan Tan, and I tried a few bites. Flavor-wise, it was excellent -- rich, bold, and deeply savory -- but it was extremely spicy. Definitely delicious, just something to be aware of if you're sensitive to heat. We also shared a hand roll, which was a great addition. Fresh, well made, and nicely balanced, with good quality fish and seasoned rice. A solid bite to have alongside the ramen. Overall, everything was filling and genuinely delicious. Ingredients tasted fresh, portions were generous, and the flavors were thoughtfully done. We had the spicy miso ramen that sported a lot of chicken and a delicious broth. Very bold yet balanced flavors. As for the three hand roll set that we ordered we found out we are not real fans of hand rolls. I should have looked up what makes a hand roll a hand roll. (It's the nori, the seaweed wrapper, that sets it apart in the world of sushi.) The salmon, yellowfin tuna, and crab were so fresh that they tasted fishy to us. Again, I believe it's user error that this dish didn't fly with us. We used the soy sauce mixed with wasabi to disguise the fishy taste. Lesson learned.

As Japanese visitors, we're always a bit picky when it comes to Japanese food, but everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and authentic. We enjoyed the Ishiyaki ribeye, ramen, and sushi, and were also impressed by the excellent selection of Japanese beers and sake. We didn't expect to find such high quality Japanese cuisine in Raleigh, and it exceeded our expectations. A special thank you to Marika, who was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. Her warm hospitality made us feel right at home and truly made our dining experience even more memorable. Whether you're visiting Raleigh or live in the area, we highly recommend this restaurant. Five stars, no hesitation…read more I heard about Sono Sushi through Resy and finally made it in. It's located in downtown Raleigh on Fayetteville Street, right next to the ABC 11 studios, easy to find and a great spot if you're already downtown. The ambiance is great and fits the food well. There's a nice mix of seating, tables along the windows looking out onto the street, high top tables, traditional dining tables, and a sushi bar if you want to sit up close and watch everything being made. It feels lively without being loud, and works well whether you're there for a date night or a more casual meal. We started with the Aburi appetizer, torched salmon belly, ooba, salmon roe, Japanese seabream, yuzu kosho, and ponzu, and it was outstanding. Everything worked together perfectly, rich, bright, and balanced. I also ordered ikura and ebi, even though I meant to order ama ebi, but no regrets there. Still excellent. We shared the Poke Roll with wakame, avocado, cucumber, mango, tuna, salmon, hamachi, and Sono poke sauce, and it was very good, fresh, flavorful, and well composed without being overdone. My wife ordered the spicy miso ramen and loved it. The broth was the star, deep and comforting, and the pork chashu pieces were massive, in a good way. I went with the chicken katsu curry, panko fried chicken thigh with house curry and koshihikari rice, something I haven't had since Little Tokyo in LA a few years ago, and it tasted like home. Comforting, familiar, and exactly what I was hoping for. For drinks, I ordered the "SONO? SO-YES!" entirely because of the name, but also because I love blood orange. Casamigos Blanco tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, coconut cream, simple syrup, and blood orange juice, it was excellent. My only complaint is that I wanted more of it. My wife got the Okinawa Spritz, a play on an Aperol spritz with passionfruit, and it was even better than the original. We finished with the yuzu cheesecake. I debated between that and the ube cheesecake, but since this is a Japanese restaurant, yuzu felt right, and it absolutely delivered. Overall, everything from the food to the drinks hit. This is a place I would happily return to, and honestly, I'm already looking forward to the next visit.
