It's cheap for a reason - the food is bad. My first time in, I had a rice dish which was rice and red pepper. I kid you not. There were no other veggies, and there was a vague salty seasoning on the rice, but that was it. I chalked it up to new restaurant troubles. No cigar. My second time back, I got Pad See You (pad thai but with fresh, thick rice noodles), and it was the greasiest dish I've ever had. There was zucchini in it (sure it was in season in New England, but the idea of supporting local agriculture in a restaurant whose cuisine is based on things like coconut, tamarind, lemongrass, rice, and shrimp is stupid to begin with) which was cut and prepared in a way which clearly showed that the chef just didn't care about what he or she was doing. I didn't finish my dish, and I didn't go back. If you want god Thai food, go to the two-seater Thai restaurant across the street called Hattaporn's Kitchen. Spend the extra two dollars per main course, and get really good Thai food from a really sweet Thai woman. read more

The pork dumplings were great, fried to perfection and not at all greasy, the filling was moist and tender. The chicken satay was well seasoned, with big pieces of moist chicken. I really liked the satay sauce, it was excellent. The Hot and Sour Shrimp Soup (Tom Yum Koong) was really well layered with flavor, it was so yummy I was sad to reach the bottom of the crock. The Chicken Coconut Soup (Tom Kar Gai) was very good, my personal taste would prefer it a bit spicier, but it is advertised as a mild soup. The pad thai was very fresh, it wasn't too sweet, as some can be . The pad see you, was good but lacked the layered flavors and contrasting textures that I have come to enjoy in other restaurants. After the waitress dumped my water in my lap our orders were delivered over a period of at least twenty minutes. Two of five dishes were judged tasty. We ordered a Sauvignon Blanc; we received a Cabernet Sauvignon. We will never go there again. read more

Disappointed with take-out. We ate there once and thought that the food was delicious. We couldn't wait to try it again. We both ordered the same dishes for take-out that we had previously. I had the Country Pad Thai and it had lots of noodles, some small bits of chicken, some green onions, bean sprouts, ground peanuts, and ONE tiny shrimp. At the restaurant meal there were a few shrimp, tofu, and a lot more vegetables, and more sauce. It had a really nice flavor, but not enough sauce for the amount of noodles. The other take out meal was also lacking sauce and very dried out. Now I'm not sure I would want to eat there again. I was hoping that it might be a good place for take out. read more

This past Valentines day my husband and I made a reservation at Thai Blue Ginger. We've eaten there before. The food and service had been decent. When we arrived we noticed right away, they had taken out the cases with pretty pictures and sculptures and squeezed in a center row of tables. Despite this glaring red flag we were undaunted, we sat promptly ordered an app and our entrees. We don't drink soda or alcohol, the tea in past times was tepid. Therefore we asked for waters, they were piss warm and tasted like rusted pipes! After 35 minutes of waiting I asked the only waitress about our app, she apologized and offered to check. 15 minutes later, it finally arrived, overcooked, but we were famished. Then we waited some more...The waitress was intentionally avoiding eye contact with us at this point. We began noticing couples arrived after us already had apps and then entrees served! My patients reached their limit! After a total time of an hour and a half, I stopped her as she passed asked about our food, she said she'd go check. She came back and told us the cook said he would "start them now" I told her "that was ridiculous and unacceptable"! She asked if we wanted a couple "cocktails, on the house" for the inconvenience! We declined and told her to forget it, we'd go across the street to El Greco, the food there is always hot, fast, and fresh. Sadly they were closed by this time. We tried our luck at Taylor's Restaurant and Pub. The food came within 20mins and was fantastic! The service was spectacular as well. Skip right over this dud, just a few short doors down there are true gems in Greenfield! read more

I ordered the blue ginger chicken (great) which came with rice, 2 steamed dumplings, and veggies and for only $7.50, I had enough to make a lunch for the next day. Friendly staff. Great location. This is the best restaurant in Greenfield. I started eating Thai when I worked in Boston in mid 1980's at Bangkok Cuisine on Mass Ave. They were the best. The same goes for Thai Blue Ginger. This is authentic and Gourmet. I like Hattaporns but would never go there (food is a little gamey - phone disconnected too) when this Gourmet gem exists just across street. If you want good Thai food in Franklin County, this is the place for you. I cannot say enough good things about the Thai Blue Ginger, the food is delicious, the staff are amazing and they are incredibly consistent all around. Ordered green curry which has mostly green beans and 2 slices of zucchini and 2tiny slices of eggplants- portion was way off and all the veggies were unevenly cooked somewhat raw somewhat over cooked. Had to order rice on the side and they charged extra, really?! And I couldn't believe how the rice came. It came w a very small bamboo container and inside there's rice wrapped in a plastic bag as if the rice wasn't fresh and they just microwaved right before they served. As soon as you take the rice out, within 30 sec the rice was harden and hard to chew. My parents have been in the restaurant business for 3 decades and I've never seen or heard of serving rice that's not fresh. I'm still shocked as I'm writing. Pad Thai wasn't anything special maybe I had too high expectations. It's got way too much lime and that's all I tasted. One star is for the tenderness of chicken. We ordered three dishes with all chicken in and they were very juicy and tender. Not dried or tough. read more

I've been coming here since it opened and it never disappoints! Definitely one of the better restaurants in Greenfield, and I'm thrilled they've stayed in business all these years. Their pineapple fried rice is exceptional, and everything I've tried from their menu has always been delicious. Will NEVER enter this dump again. A friend and I stopped in for some take out and ordered while we ran next door to the store. Came back and realized we had more time than we thought, so great, we sat down with our take out to eat in instead, mind you the place was empty. The woman came out and said "You order take out, you must take out , not eat here. " She was just plain rude and there was no reason for it. I would of understood of course if she was busy. Not a soul. We were pretty annoyed at not being able to change our minds. THEN we get to the TERRIBLE FOOD. AWFUL. I got shrimp fried rice it was GARBAGE. The rice was like those uncle bens cook in the package rices, with three shrimp in the entire order.
