This by far has to be one of my favorite Thai restaurants here in Clovis! The food was a lot better than I expected it to be. Of course, the establishment doesn't look too appealing from the outside but the food definitely speaks for itself. I ordered the Kung Pow Chicken and it was delicious! The dish was well seasoned with a hint of spicy and it was a good portion...enough to fill you up! I had heard a lot of positive reviews from friends and family, but was kind of let down when I finally tried it for myself. I ordered the Snow Pea Chicken (I should of just got Moogoo Gai Pan). For some reason the stir fry tasted bland, no unique flavors. Then as I ate more, I tasted liquid smoke for some reason. Not sure if there was some type of BBQ marinade in it, but I wasn't really digging it. The fried rice was okay, lacking egg and chicken. But, I hear if you try one of their fried rice dishes with like jalapenos or shrimp it would probably be way better than just the fried rice they include with your dish. The only thing that really saved it for me was their Pot Stickers which were fresh and delicious! This review is based on my first visit, and am looking forward to trying one of their hundreds of other items on their menu. The menu may seem a bit overwhelming to me, but at least they broke it down to curry's/thai food/noodles/sushi/etc. The service was a little slow and disorganized, but these are their first few months of being open so I expect that at a new restaurant. read more

This place is so unsanitary, the servers are rude and talk behind your back about their customers and the place is just an overall mess. I usually love this place but today I realized how much I have been blind to. Today they had a dog come in with one of the friends of the workers there. All the workers came over to touch the dog and pet the dog. First off I would just like to say that I am allergic to dogs and I do not see that a food place is a good place to bring dogs unless they are service dogs. When the servers and cooks that came over to pet the dog went and went back to serving, they didn't wash their hands. DO NOT COME HERE!!! VERY VERY UNSANITARY!! This was my second time ever having Thai food and first time as a vegan and it was pretty damn good!! Thankfully they were glad to make alterations to their dishes to cater to us! And what was even more awesome was that when we tried to pay for our dinner, IT HAD ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR!!! Isn't that so awesome!? Some random person paid for our dinner!!!! Sooo we decided to pay it forward as well and buy someone else's dinner! So yeah, that was pretty neat! Anyways, the summer rolls were really yummy and I cant quite remember the name of my dish but it was made with rice noodles and veggies, passed on any meat, and I added pineapples! Glad that I did! Thai City is your typical catch-all, generic Asian restaurant. You can order sushi, pho, and rice and noodle-based dishes. With no specialization, the food is fair but nothing spectacular. For the area, it is likely the best option of its kind. After the fire, they seemed to have stepped up their fame in my opinion. The service is good and the food not a pure grease/MSG overload. I still only go when I'm really craving an outing since no dish really stand out as signatory. It works well for a once every month or so stop-in. read more

By far this is one of the worst "Asian cuisine" restaurant in Clovis. I understand that there aren't many place that offer Thai/Chinese/Vietnamese and Japanese all-in-one, because they have such a variety and option to choose from. They are one of the worst that I've ever tasted. The atmosphere seem like a decent restaurant and the waitresses are amateur teenagers that lack direction. Thai City is starting to grow on me as I have lived here a little longer. As I said previously, you have to be careful what you order. I have tried their fried rice which is yummy and their curry is just really darn good. The past few times I have been there the service has been good and the staff is helpful in choosing dishes (which is nice because their menu is huge). Still haven't tried to sushi and I don't do landlocked sushi and I still will not order out from here. Was completely surprised by this place. I was sceptical at first, I am visiting from Seattle and have dined at some of the finest sushi restaurants and bars there, and Canada. I had an assortment of sushi. And was very pleased with the presentation. Taste I would say was good, not amazing but good. Completely has more potential. I also had their tai tea. Wish they would bring that out in clear glasses instead of those cheap red old ones. They would cause curiosity and sell allot more. They are very good. This place is very surprising and pleasing. I have eaten here several times visiting my daughter. I wish we had one in KC,MO!!!!!!! The Thai iced tea and coffee are incredible so good. The meals are always hot and servers are smiling. Their sesame chicken was chicken tempura with sweet n sour sauce poured over it.the "chow mein" was completely inedible. We took the food home to fix it. The "chow mein" got tossed in the trash after discovering it was packaged "oodles of noodles". We could have had better Asian food by ordering the teriyaki wings from wing stop. They need to change the name to China City with some fake Thai dishes. I guess it's okay if a customer simply wants to say "I had Thai food at a Thai restaurant". My wife and I had the Pad Tai and the something something kra paw, respectively. They were both delicious! It was around 8pm on a Saturday, and it was pretty cold out, so some spicy pad tai was in order. They were very friendly and attentive. Our server knew the menu and gave me an outstanding suggestion for the kra paw. It had seasoned pork, fried rice, sautéed jalapeños, cucumbers, and a fried egg on top. It was outstanding... As was the 10pc cream cheese rangoons (no crab meat). For the appetizer, and main dishes it came out to around $22. And we had left overs. read more
