We have been searching for a great Thai place after Kow Thai in Allentown closed so we were thrilled to check this place out. It's takeout only (as Kow Thai was) and definitely a destination (it's practically in a residential neighborhood), but we visited 2 times in the last month and loved it. They have red, green, yellow, mango and massamon. I love yellow curry so I was delighted to find it available. My husband usually orders massamon, but has gotten the mango and loved it. We've had apps as well and they are very good. As it's a 20 min drive home, we eat the apps in their parking lot because we believe they are best piping hot. The entree portions are big. My 3 complaints are: they put pineapple in the curry. (We've been to Thailand and they never too that. Further more, we've never had that in the US either. It's like they sub it for potato. Bring on potato!) The other "hey, we'd prefer you didn't do it like that" is the way they cut the chicken. You get huge slabs of chicken (think of flank steak). I don't know if they are just trying to save time, but I don't love having to cut it up after I get home. Last thing, double check lids and make sure you secure the take-out upright before you drive. Kow Thai did a better job packaging the food for travel. Other than that, they do a great job! read more

Without a doubt the best meal I have eaten in a restaurant since 2019. Stellar service, fresh cooking, and a simple but clean interior make this an underrated gem. It is very disappointing that when we arrived 8:30 pm, the restaurant's door was shut, however the light was on. We saw there was employee who was still on the counter. We tried to talk to him by waving to him to see if they serve the late comers like us. Not only he did not bother to come out to let us know that they closed down early on that particular day. After a few minutes, he just turned the light off while seeing us waving to him. Really unprofessional manner. Have no interest on trying on the food. read more

For an appetizer we ordered the crispy rolls (4) which were phenomenal and had great presentation. The pad Thai came out in one dish but somewhat separated (cashews, sprouts, then then noodle stir fry). I liked it because I could add more or less sprouts and nuts to each of my bites as I saw fit. I also asked for a side of the "spicy" seasoning and a side of the plum sauce that came with the crispy rolls to put on my Pad Thai to make it sweeter. The restaurant it self was very CLEAN. The bathroom was small, but very clean. There overall ambience and atmosphere was pleasing to all my senses. There was a nice modern oriental violin playing in the background. This place is such a local gem. It is take-out only now due to Covid. They offer amazing food and efficient, friendly service. I come here regularly and usually go for the Pad see ew or Panang curry. Both are amazing, I get the tofu and it's always so nicely prepared. The lunch prices are pretty good. Driveway is tricky to get out of, be careful. read more

Update on 11-11-2018: Via Facebook, someone from Thai Diner has confirmed that they no longer have vegan options. They said only 2% of their customers took advantage of those options. Once again, vegans lose out to the majority. Restaurants lose too. Vegans don't eat alone. Now I and my friends and family no longer will be eating there. I've removed one star for this turn of events because it directly affects me as a customer and a large part of my positive reviews in the past were due to their willingness to accommodate vegans and vegetarians. Original review preserved below: I've visited Thai Diner numerous times since they arrived in my little town. I hope they get more business because it has been pleasant. I've had vegetable sushi (very tasty) and the basil meal. I enjoyed both visits. (More recently: The drunken noodle is excellent and I have a hard time choosing anything but the drunken noodle). Note for those fearful of spice: in my opinion, the spicing is in the "authentic" range. My "medium" hot spice meal was beyond my preference (the meal was still delicious, though my dad couldn't handle the one taste he took; his meal was mild). My suggestion is to choose "mild" if you dislike great levels of spiciness. Overall, please visit this Thai restaurant so that they stay in business and in my area! There's so little variety in my area! Update 11-18-2017: Vegans and vegetarians take note. A friend went today and was told that the pad Thai sauce has fish in it, which is the opposite of what I had been told before on my visits. This is a good Thai place in Allentown. The lobster pad Thai was delicious with crispy lobster and shrimp with flavorful and tart pad Thai sprinkle that with lime. The chicken green curry was also good though a bit spicy (moderate spicy was pretty damned spicy) with bamboo shoots, green beans and bell peppers. The Thai iced tea and lime tea were delicious. We had the Thai sausage appetizer which had spices packed into it and a fermented flavor. I thought it was pretty good although I have tried stronger flavored ones. It came with green lettuce and wasn't too overwhelming. Nice warm environment resembling an American diner but converted to a Thai place. Thumbs up! read more

We really were hopeful for this neighborhood spot. My wife had the yellow curry chicken and liked it. I had the Tom Yum soup and the basil stir fried vegetables. I couldn't finish the soup because of the overwhelming saltiness, but also lack of the usual flavors this should have. The basil stir fry was also very very salty. My husband loved his pineapple fried rice and I did too! It was absolutely delicious! Next time I will take pictures. The portion sizes are definitely enough for a few meals. My boyfriend and I were looking for a quick place to eat. Came across this place. Outside was odd, but inside was clean and had a small cute dinning room. We ordered crispy rolls, crab Rangoon and tai iced tea to start. All were delicious. Tai iced tea was a bit too sweet for my liking, but still good, not watery like some other places. Crispy rolls came with a vinegar plum sauce which was fresh. I got the beef drunken noodles with medium heat which was excellent! Perfect amount of spice. My boyfriend got a mango curry dish. Surprisingly found a Thai restaurant in coplay. Would have never found this place if it wasn't for Yelp. It a small place and you wouldn't think anything of it. The food here is pretty amazing. Every dish was presentable and appealing to the mouth. The service was great even tho we were the only ones there. Absolutely loved this little place. Takeout on one side and eat in on the other. If not familiar with the dishes, they point out all of the pictures on the takeout side so you can see what it looks like. Flavors were bright and fresh and very interesting. The crunchy chicken pad Thai was great. Batter was light, maybe tempura, and definitely NOT greasy. Well done on this dish! Complex dipping sauces came with a number of dishes and all were great and very different. We ordered 4 dishes at medium spicy and I would probably go mild next time. It doesn't look like it'll be great. BUT the inside atmosphere is intimate, soothing, and inviting. The moment you walk in you smells like a lemon scent very calming. It's aesthetically pleasing, and they are very attentive. It's BYOB, they don't accept American Express, and they had a lot on the menu. I ordered seafood pad Thai medium spicy. IT WAS DELICIOUS.
