(For me.) The staff are super friendly and they have a nice selection of menu items. (Still need to try the pumpkin curry.) There is a small collection of children's books in the waiting area and a spot in the front to eat outside, if you so desire. (I didn't, as it was cold and we were there for takeout.) Oh... this is SUCH good food. Quite authentic (especially for Duvall!), and the prices are very reasonable (all but the "Spicy Seafood Combination - $9.95" are between $6 - $8 each). There's an excellent selection of dishes, from the well-known (Pad Thai, Thai Grilled Beef, Satay, etc.) to the slightly more adventurous (but nothing too scary). Portions aren't HUGE, but can definitely be shared (that's the best way to eat Thai, anyway!). My favorite dishes are: Mu Phad Prik King - Pork fried with chili, coconut milk, green beans, and onions. Served with peanut sauce. Thai Grilled Beef - Beef marinated with zesty sauce and grilled to perfection. Lard Nar (Beef, Pork, or Chicken) - Tender pieces of meat in an oyster sauce combined with broccoli over rice noodles. So, we just tossed $20 of takeout down the sink. My husband didn't have a good experience here a few years back, but living in Duvall and having limited options for nights you don't want to cook, I convinced him to give Thai Duvall another try since it's the one place I haven't had takeout at here in town. I'm sorry I did. We kept it simple and ordered the hot and sour soup and the pad see ew with beef. As soon as I opened the soup container, a terrible odor wafted out. To me it smelled like gasoline, to my husband it smelled like solvent, and it was probably somewhere in between - it was a chemical/rancid smell, almost as if the restaurant hasn't cleaned their burners or something in forever. I tasted the soup and it was AWFUL - it tasted just like it smelled, exactly. Completely inedible. We dumped it down the sink. The pad see ew smelled only faintly as bad as the soup so I was hoping it would be okay to eat. I tried a piece of noodle - the same rancid taste was there, albeit milder, but there was basically no other flavor to hide it. So it, too, was terrible, though perhaps not as horrifying. I had to eat an orange just to get the terrible rancid taste out of my mouth. Incredibly disappointed. My husband is now out getting us subs from Quiznos. I guess we're being punished for being too lazy and tired to cook at home. read more

You can't find friendlier people than the people who work at Thai Duvall. I've been going here for over 10 years. My favs are the curried eggplant and angel wings. So eggplant may not be a favorite for others, but try the Angel Wings, it's #1 on the menu. My whole family loves the Angel Wings and we recently discovered the Lard Nar, it's worth a try. Called in an order at 8:40pm (they close at 9:30pm). Guy who took my order almost hung up on me, and then when I asked if it would be available for pick up in 15-20 minutes, he said, "yeah, something like that" and hung up. Go to pick up the food, guy was super rude. Get home with the food, small portions (which happened before and was hoping was a fluke), AND one of our orders was the wrong thing. I really want to like this place, but you don't get enough food for the money and last night's service was disheartening. Decided to try this place since I had heard good things from work colleagues. It did not disappoint. The cream cheese wantons were fresh and some of the best I have had. The spring rolls were great and nicely cooked. We had the yellow curry which was nice. We ordered one star for our kids and it was still a little too spicy for the kids. Service was great. I'm so tired of being cheated on the food I pay for. I just ordered beef delight and (take-out) and the carton is only half-full and there are THREE pieces of beef in it. What a freakin' joke. Beware of food allergens! The restaurant staff lack basic knowledge on food allergies and their menu is misleading e.g claiming rice paper when the dish was actually made of wheat. Recently I unknowingly ingesting the allergen that wreaked a havoc in my immune system. Luckily I caught it while still at the restaurant consuming only a small part of the dish. When I addressed it the staff were not even apologetic. Just took the menu item off my bill. Seriously? I am going to deal with lasting and costly implications and you are not even sorry about the mistake?! We caught a similar mistake a couple of years ago at this restaurant and stopped coming here. Now, years later the issue is still there. The lack of the training makes me wonder of their food hygiene/safe food handling practices & knowledge as well. To be avoided in the future. read more

My wife and I have gone to a number of Thai restaurants. I tend to order pork phad thai at least 50% of the time, no matter where. When I do, I compare it to our own Thai restaurant, here in Duvall. I am happy to say that ours is the BEST! Also, the Fresh Rolls are spectacular. I always bring a double order (with as many of the little tubs of peanut sauce as they'll let me haul away) to the big TJ Dance barbecue in August! Thai Duvall is a little gem in downtown Duvall. The service is friendly and their food is delicious. We had their fresh rolls, pineapple fried rice, Pad Thai and green curry and all four of the dishes were delicious. The Pad Thai was not greasy like it can sometimes be at other places, so that was a plus. Definitely recommend this place! read more

Parking: easy free and right out front. Take out: yes Credit card: yes Interior decor: could be updated. And the bathroom is small. Food: it felt more like Chinese food than Thai. I ordered and Orange chicken and BBQ pork appetizer and it tasted just like Chinese food. My husband got cashew chicken and veggies again tasted like Chinese food. The Thai soup and fresh spring rolls were good. The portion sizes for the price could be a little better. I think we are glad we tried it but will most likely stick to The Thai place in Monroe from here on out. read more

Joy and Lek are always so friendly when we come in to eat and the food and prices are both great. Having been to Thailand twice, I can say that the food here is pretty authentic. Is it 5 stars? No, but this is a basic family run restaurant that serves good Thai food (like most REAL Thai restaurants do, in Thailand!) If you want a super fancy restaurant, go somewhere else. If you want good Thai and don't want to leave the Valley, come here! Don't be like every other person that just orders Phad Thai - broaden your palate and get something else from the menu and you won't be disappointed! We have been here a couple dozen times now and it is always great. This is a wonderful family owned restaurant and serve very authentic Thai food. We love to order a number of things like fresh rolls with tofu and crab Rangoon (not Thai but great) for appetizers. We usually get the red curry with chicken or salmon curry and I usually get noodle curry (Khao Soi) which is a northern Thailand dish. The Massaman curry is also a great choice. You have to get the Mango Sticky Rice if it is available. These curry dishes are usually a bit sweeter but don't think anything above a 3 star will make you sweat. This family operated business has a large selection of delicious entrees and appetizers. I have just started to pick and choose some of these tasty meals. I would recommend the stir fried rice w/shrimp and the Spring Rolls which were tiny, but tasty. The fried calamari appetizer was delicate and yummy with their peanut sauce. I also enjoyed the Scallops Pad Bai Graplau, which was delicious with a hint of ginger. My wife said the Cashew Chicken was delicious and although it has a chili sauce, it was very mild (the way she enjoys her food). I will be returning for more great meals soon. read more

I went with the Pad See Ew with chicken at 3 stars. Overall, the portion was a good size, and it was executed VERY well. My family and I have lived behind Duvall (Cherry Valley area) for 20 years, and we have enjoyed and still enjoy Thai Duvall. We've brought family, had a quiet lunch, a quick veg dish with mango sticky rice dessert, all delicious. Now, order a beer, they'll bring a chilled glass and it's so refreshing! My wife prefers a Thai Ice Tea. Plates are shareable and spice level easily customized (my wife likes it no-spice; I request this hot-oil tray and go nuclear). I feel incredibly sorry for the people of Duvall for having a crappy thai restaurant and thinking that it's wonderful. We stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon around 1. Their sign says their open at noon. The place was DEAD. We had to call out a few times for anyone to acknowledge our presense. An older woman came out and seated us, but you could tell she didn't speak any english, when she took our order by us pointing to the name of the dish and saying it several times. LUCKILY, the real waitress/daughter/whoever came in from an errand and double checked our order. We weren't asked what level of spiceyness we'd like either. I had the beef panageng curry and i feel really dissapointed. $36 for 2 people (2 dishes and 1 coffee??). DUVALL, YOU'RE BEING RIPPED OFF. read more

They know our names greet us when we come in ad they know what we like. We have been coming here fairly reguarly for abou the last year, I have Thai food in many places aroud the world and I like this restarurant very much.
