I stopped in here because there was a bad accident on Rt. 22 and traffic hadn't moved in 30 minutes, so I figured sitting at a bar is better than sitting in traffic. The bar is small and only had three stools, and the place needs remodeling. It smelled a little "off". I've never eaten here, so I'm not going to rate the food. The martini was $11.00 which is lower than average for this area.

This place is much larger than it appears. There are many different seating options. It has a large menu with many choices. We enjoyed the Thai Iced tea while taking in the beautiful view. We both enjoy our hot meals and the service was fast and kind. We tried the Thai ice cream which had sweetened rice and pineapple. I tired their mango bubble tea and was not a big fan. I prefer a blended cold drink with the tapioca balls this was just the syrup and ice and it was rather sweat. I do think the place could update some furniture and lighting but it definitely has a unique charm inside.

Just wanted to update my review because I've finally eaten inside a few times instead of getting takeout like I usually have for the past three years. This place seriously rarely disappoints and my lunch that I had at the restaurant today was amazing. I seriously can't give this place enough stars. They are always so friendly and the service is always great, whether I'm getting takeout or in the restaurant. I got my usual soup (veggie Tom Kha Gai) with extra veggies, vegetable pad kee mao, and Thai iced tea. The food was so fresh and everything was cooked perfectly. Their tofu was really yummy, and the flavors of everything was honestly amazing. It's literally the best Thai food I've ever had. My guy got edamame, chicken tom kha gai, and chicken pad kee mao. Best lunch we've had in a long time. We sat in the back of the restaurant that overlooks everything, and it was so nice and relaxing. Great food with great company.

Overall, very good. Highly recommend the coconut rice. The meals were delicious! Service was good. Food came out fast. Place is decorative. The only thing I didn't love was the Elephant Sampler. It all tasted the same. I couldn't tell the difference between each food on the platter... other than that. Very good.

super close to Thunder Ridge Ski Area, a great spot for a meal before or after skiing! Lovely service and vibes / decor inside. the fried rice was fantastic, as was the red curry.

I want to love this place, but I never really get anything there that I feel is above average. Staff is great, but food is so-so.

The food is ok. The restaurant is a calming spot amongst the outskirts of farmland. It is a true get away that provides a homely feeling.

If you dine in, you get a choice of a free appetizer (spring roll or salad). They also have lunch specials from Tuesday - Friday which is pretty awesome. All I needed was a warm and cozy meal to take out. Despite it already being almost kitchen closing time, they were so kind and accommodating and reassured me it would be no problem to do a takeout. THIS MADE MY NIGHT! I ordered the green curry with tofu which was so yummy, flavorful and comforting as well as the spring rolls. Loved the sauce! For dessert I got the mango with sweet coconut sticky rice which was INCREDIBLE. This is absolutely worth it. It's so light, sweet and delicious. Can't wait to come here again for a dine in experience. Takeout was pretty bomb!

Seafood hotpot soup: it was good, i thought it would be more like tomyum, but it was still very good. Alot of calamari in it. Overall: Will be back, the param is a must try. Seriously good. The place has very good food, especially for around that area.

Proving that it's the company as much as the location, a recent visit to Chiangmai Thai Restaurant…read morein Naugatuck was absolutely delightful given the lovely service from our waitress. One got the sense that the other diners that evening felt much the same way. It was a weeknight, and with a lower customer load than might be the case on a Friday or weekend, she had ample time to spend with each party, regaling us all with fun conversation. It goes without saying that the company in one's own party makes a whale of a difference, and in that regards I could not have asked for better. This is to take nothing away from the food, which was absolutely delicious, flavorful and mercifully not too spicy - our aging gastrointestinal systems are sadly just not up for the violent torment from a chilli assault like when we were younger, and felt invincible. The mango rice dessert - enough for two to split - was sublime. And the town of Naugy itself - for both of us an unknown quantity til that evening despite having whizzed past it a ton on Route 8, hammering down the famous Naugahyde River Valley - is intriguing. Naugatuck offers gorgeous and fascinating architecture from the last two centuries at least, evidence of thriving mill-driven industry in years past, very easy access from the highway, and lots of close on-street parking, at least on a Thursday evening. BYOB if you are that way inclined, as they don't have a liquor license. Will we be back to Chiangmai Thai? Abso-frikkin-lutely. I've you've already been, then go back again, and soon. If you haven't had the pleasure, get moving now and thank me later.

It's not too often I get to go back and revisit my reviews, but yesterday I think I've had enough…read morechange in opinion about ThaiBowL (still can't get over that capital L) that I think an update is an order. This was originally review 148 (149 if you want to count the one review I had that had been deleted) out of all the reviews I've done. Before I get into what changed, I will point to the one thing I stand most by: the Crab Rangoon. This time I had it served to me on a plate, with a separate section for the plum sauce, and this time I had a small pile of shredded carrot and a leaf or two of greens. My opinion about the Crab Rangoon remains the same, which is to say they're outstanding. The plum sauce I've come to learn is the sweetest part of the dish and was a big reason as to how the dish ended up being so sweet. The filling to breading ratio is top-notch, the breading is crispy without feeling like I'm eating mushy bread, and the flavor of the filling is divine. So into what changed. You might have gotten the hint when I talked about the plating of the Crab Rangoon, but I dined in this time, and honestly, it's much better to eat this in the restaurant than to just go to the take-out window. If you have time and are in Watertown, I would definitely recommend parking your car and coming in. It's a cozy interior that's very casual. It's not quite at the level of fine dining, but it is still an intimate place to eat, maybe even romantic. It's very well-decorated, and the employees here are very friendly. Would I say they treat you like family? Ehhhhh..... I don't know about that one, but maybe the next step down it's a little clearer. As for what else I had this time around, please give a warm welcome to the Thai Iced Coffee, the Red Duck Curry with white rice, and the Fried Ice Cream! The Red Curry is spicy, but not unbearably so. The Iced Coffee actually pairs perfectly with this to cool down the heat (I actually had to order 2 of those coffees believe it or not). The duck was crispy and tender at the same time and the vegetables in the curry were for the most part great. My only knock on the dish would be the eggplant. That did come out mushy, but luckily there were only like 2 slices of it, so it wasn't a big deal. You can use the spoon they provide to ladle some of that sauce onto the rice, which actually gives the rice more flavor. As for the Iced Coffee, it was a great coffee and I would definitely have this iced coffee any time I come here and have one of their curries. Does it carry the whole meal on its own? No. But as a drink to help balance things out, it's a winner. As for the fried ice cream, they did phenomenal. You actually have to let the ice cream melt slightly to get into it because the ice cream inside the coating is still cold enough to be hard to cut into with a spoon. But it was a delicious dessert to end things off on. I would like to have this with chocolate ice cream, but that's just a personal preference and not sure how that would work. lol I think now that I've had the full restaurant experience here, I can safely say I was a little harsh giving this a 4 the last time around, and even that was still a good meal. The ambiance, the service, and the fact I got to try more things I ended up liking enough to recommend to others was enough for me to bring this up to the full 5. This will definitely be my Waterbury area option for Thai food going forward.

I would say the best thing were the spring rolls since they tasted fresh and the sauce was flavorful. Service was fast.
