We got take out from here this last week and were super impressed with the flavor, portions and options Thai Esarn presented with. It's a smaller interior if you decide to dine in, but was very clean and organized when I went in to pick up our food. We decided to try their appetizer combo, the Pad Thai and the Crispy Chicken entree. The appetizer combo was a great mix of sweet and savory flavors but my favorite was definitely the dumplings with the side of sweet chili sauce. Delicious flavor pairings! The crispy chicken was a perfect mix of sweet and tangy with a mild spice (I chose a 2 or 3). As others have said already, this Pad Thai was one of the best I've ever had! It had a more peanut flavor than others I've tried which I loved. To note, we also got this one in a mild spice. I may have found my new favorite Thai restaurant after trying Thai Esarn. This hidden gem is flipping delicious. We ordered carry out and got a couple stir fry meals and the drunken noodles. Added on some wontons, which we did not regret- so good! Had a great meal here at an almost empty restaurant on a Monday night. There were plenty of to go orders which did not surprise me since it is a true hole in the wall--amazing food and a more rustic environment! The red curry was great--plenty of flavor, and a lot of chicken/veggies! The portion was huge and so good that I finished most of it! I ordered a spicy level 4, and wish I would have gone with 6. It was much sweeter than I anticipated--likely due to the coconut milk. The chicken was great, and so were the peppers, bean sprouts, and bamboo shoots in the bowl. My family and I love to frequent Omaha Thai restaurants. With a craving for Pad Thai, my family decided to stop in here. The service was friendly, and the food took no time at all, even though it was a Saturday! They had a plethora or Take out Orders instead, but we definitely had priority for the eat in space, there was only one other table! The server answered our questions patiently, recommending spice levels for our tolerance (we like to think we are tough, but we stick to a 5/10 lol) The pad Thai was perfect. I hadn't ordered it in years, but this hit the spot perfectly. My mom had the chicken, and got the same spice as me, and said that it was a bit too spicy for her, but with a few lime wedges added to my own, I thought that it was perfect. The noodles were well coated with sauce, without being too wet or soggy, and there was a generous amount of tofu in the dish. For appetizers, the spring rolls and crab rangoon was great, as expected! Crispy, hot, and promptly served. The crab rangoon filling was a bit softer/runnier than I expected, but with a crispy outside to soak it up, satisfactory. Everything is extremely salty. I ordered with DD and there was no option to note for the chef to not add salt. Pad Thai, very flavorful, very, super sweet, tangy, salty. Green curry is not even green in color. Egg soup is salt water with egg. Everything comes with bell Pepper and no option to note for no bell pepper. read more

Really frustrated with this recent experience. If you read my prior reviews you know I'm an avid TE lover! However after our recent pick up, I'm left feeling upset and frustrated. We placed an order for pickup, with text prompts To get us there within a window of time to redeem our food in a timely manner. However, we attempted to pick up our food 3x - from the parking lot coming up with nothing. We were sent 3+ text saying come now your food is ready, and then switched to "new time for pick up" ultimately we wasted so much time in the parking lot waiting for our food. There was no third party app to blame, simply a break down or communication despite having every opportunity to communicate. I love this food so much so I'm disheartened this is the case. We saved $18 not going through doordash, but ultimately what did it really cost? Our Saturday night. read more

We enjoyed our experience here. The restaurant is small, cozy, and clean. Our server was quick and attentive and food came fairly quickly. The drink menu is simple but has all the basics to accompany a meal. We enjoyed the food. The yellow curry was very flavorful and the portion was quite large! The crispy chicken had a nice flavor as well and had a good texture to the chicken without being dry. The drunken noodles were good but not my favorite. The appetizers were also just okay. We ordered the shrimp tempura, spring rolls, and crab rangoon. They were good but nothing out of this world.,The crab rangoon tasted like they were made with sweet condensed milk which I did not prefer. I stopped in for a quick lunch. The staff was friendly and efficient. The décor is nice and tranquil. Pretty chill relaxing Thai ambiance. The food was very flavorful and being a little spice adverse I went for a 2 and really felt no spice at all so maybe next time I'll go for a 3 or 4. The wings weren't my favorite but the pad Thai was fantastic, very flavorful. I highly recommend. I'm looking forward to coming back trying some more of the menu. To be honest I wasn't expecting much even though my husband loves this place. We decided to go for a couples night with my fellow yelper Candace and her Hubby. We sat at a booth, and were given menus very quickly, while being asked for drinks. Josh ended up being our waiter and server, he was excellent at explaining the heat levels that you can order for the food. He was also very detailed in letting us know what we are ordering, and the different kind of sauces that came with. I was a little disappointed since they didn't have beef jerky, but they had a lot of other choices. I was super hungry and wanted it all but we started with the appetizer tray. I decided to go with the crispy chicken and plum sauce and Hubby got the pineapple fried rice with added beef. I have been looking everywhere for a really good combination fried rice and this is it. The flavor was amazing. I no longer have to make my own fried rice. I will be coming here. Combination fried rice is a family favorite. The appetizers were all delicious. My chicken, rice and broccoli were just as good. I asked for the plum sauce on the side and some of their peanut sauce. I poured it on half of my food and it was Mm Mm Good. One of the very best Thai restaurants in Omaha. Portions are very generous with sufficient rice to accompany. Excellent subtlety of flavors and quality beef in those selections. I usually do door dash or pick up so can't really comment on the ambiance. read more

I tried Thai Esarn for the first time today based on the positive reviews. I wish I had the same experience. The waitress finally acknowledge me after 10 minutes and was very short. My order took over 30mins. I ordered what I thought was a spicy fried rice dish, it ended up being a soggy rice dish with no spice. She only came back to give me the check. GROSS is the only word I can find to describe it. I thought I would give their chicken fried rice a try. It wasn't anything like the normal chicken fried rice I've EVER had. Tomatoes in fried rice ??? It had some kind of brown sauce in it which fried rice does not contain and it was mushy Yuck Yuck... For $16 something including the restaurant tax and regular tax so NOT worth it. I will go back to Dragon Wok. I can actually see the chicken in theirs and they give you a LOT of meat for your money. Thai Esarn might be my new favorite Thai place in Omaha! My family and I dined in Friday evening for dinner. We tried the pad Thai, Thai beef noodle soup, and basil fried rice. All of the food came out piping hot and it was so full of flavor. I loved the pad Thai in particular. It had a ton of sauce and the pork was extremely tender, way better than most pad Thais I've had where the meat is very dry. There was also a ton of meat in the dish. I ordered a spice 5 and it was a perfect level. It was probably some of the best flavorful pad Thai I've had in Omaha! As others have noted, the service was on the slower side. It took about 35 min for our food to come out. The staff were pretty busy with phone calls and take out orders. However, the food was delicious and worth it. This place is amazing!!!! The service is pretty slow if you dine in, but we've had no issues with take out. My husband absolutely loves their Beef Drunken Noodles at a 6 spice level! I'm a big fan of their Chicken Pad Thai at a 3 spice level! Their appetizer sampler is the way to go. Their vegetable balls are amazing and so are their dumplings. Best pad Thai in Omaha! Always served hot and fresh, and I love that it's not overly sweet like some other around town. Too much sugar drowns out all the other flavors, and that never happens here. Also isn't dripping with oil, which is a huge plus. We also love the little vegetable donuts, (though they're so indulgent I always feel guilty eating them). The coconut soup is also fantastic. I usually get it with shrimp, though if you're vegetarian it's also pretty good with tofu. We almost always order pad Thai, but I've also had the Southern curry and the drunken noodles, both delicious. read more

It warmed my entire soul....hot spicy 5 chicken curry YUMMNESS cooked with lots of love..I could feel it! You can order your food by levels of heat 1-10 we love spicy (cuz I'm spicy) and went with a 5 ...I think we will try 6-7 next time! I had a spicy chicken Thai salad! This restaurant is in the Pepperwood Village strip mall off of 156th. You seat yourself, the small restaurant is clean, and only 1 main server is working. My only disappointment was the Thai and Malaysian beer were not available. The Chicken Pad Thai was very good, probably one of the better Pad Thai dishes in Omaha. The egg rolls were average, not much flavor once you bite into it. At the end of your meal, a fortune rolled wafer comes your way. I guess it's time to buy clothes very soon. read more

Overall a great option for tasty Thai food. I have tried their noodle soup dishes and they are excellent. Broth is very flavorful. I also highly recommend the Pad Thai, sauce is authentic and delicious. Service can be slow as this place gets quite busy during dinner time especially with takeout orders. Found this place when we're in the area and was looking for dinner spot. At first I thought this is the same restaurant that we went to months before the pandemic happened. Apparently it's not after I checked out Yelp, so decided to give it a try. We chose to dine in when we see the inside is pretty empty (only see a couple that are already eating). The atmosphere is similar to other Thai restaurant and the place is clean. The menu is quite simple (on 2 plies of paper) but it works for us. Ordered the fried tofu for appetizer, green curry with rice, beef pad thai and broccoli noodle for us and the food surprisingly came out within 5-10 minutes. So far so good. However our pleasant experience started to go downhill afterwards. The fried tofu was bland and doesn't go well with the sweet chili sauce that seems to be store bought. The green curry with level 3 heat is way too sweet and the meat (beef) is too tough. My pad thai although has a decent amount of peanuts and quantity of noodles versus meat, however the beef was also tough that I ended up have to eat without the meat. The broccoli noodle is the only one that's good enough but still a little too sweet even for a non spicy noodle. The service was great though. The pricing is pretty reasonable and comparable to other similar restaurants. Giving them 4 stars for the overall experience. read more
