    Papaya Salad - Yum
    Rolando P.

On my first visit, I was greeted by a friendly welcoming lady - Pat. Walking in I kind of know the things I like already and usually test to see if the restaurant is worth another visit. The list is pretty simple and many have it: Spicy Beef Salad Boat Noodle Papaya Salad Mango Salad Chicken Rice Around here most restaurants won't offer boat noodle, mango salad or chicken rice but many will offer their take on the salad and papaya salad. Oddly Thai Fix doesn't have the salad but, but they have have boat noodle and papaya salad. I placed my order for a soup and salad at their highest heat level. The added heat makes the meal an adventure. I grow bird chilis at home and eat them right off the tree. While I waited I got an ice cold Singha, my order was ready within about 10-minutes. I said my thank yous and goodbyes and went on my way. When I got home I warmed the soup a bit and got to work. The broth was dark, rich and beefy with a notable heat. The beef in the soup was plentiful and tender while the rice noodles, though thinner than I like, went perfectly well with everything and was not sticky or clumpy. Overall the soup was great and well balanced. Best of all it was hot! I could go hotter but this was great. I am not a fan of ripe mango or papaya but unripe and treated with those delicious, savory Thai flavors is amazing! Once again level 10 heat, I made myself a little plate just to try it as I was already full from the soup. It was also really, really good, fresh, light, and crunchy with the prefect balance of acidity and heat! Everyone there was super nice and inviting. Can't wait to go back to try some on the other selections!

If I could give zero stars, I would. This was hands-down the worst Thai food I've ever had. I ordered the Crying Thaiger expecting flavorful, tender beef, but what I got was pale, mystery meat that looked more like pork or chicken--definitely not beef. The noodles? Literally Top Ramen with soy sauce. No depth of flavor, no real effort, just a sad, overpriced bowl of disappointment. Every single dish was a disaster, and I left feeling completely ripped off. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere.

My 1st time here. Pleasantly surprised! Super sweet service by the woman at the counter. Prompt and friendly service. We shared a chicken pad Thai and crab Rangoon. Everything tasted fresh and seasoned well. The portions were generous. Chicken pad Thai could have had more chicken. Be sure to ask for extra spice on the side. They'll then pull out a refrigerated 4-some spice and seasoning basket. Add your own blend from here to whatever dish you're having to kick it up a notch. Yum! Easy spacious parking. I'll be back!! They participate in GrubHub.

We absolutely LOVED our experience at Thai Fix! We have ordered take out from here before but never dined inside. We are SO happy we did. The staff was beyond wonderful. So attentive and sweet. The yellow curry was PERFECT (spice level 3) ! It was the kids favorite! We also loved the chicken chow mein, veggie fried rice and pad Thai. Such a cute small restaurant. Perfect spot for a nice intimate dining experience!

My job is to help you avoid the tragic first‑date mistakes I've already made, like the overpriced spots, the bland dishes, the "why is this chair attacking my spine?" seating. I've wasted the time, energy and money on the other loser spots so you don't have to. But when I find a place that's clean, visually appealing, thoughtfully designed, and serving food that's actually seasoned, cooked well, and plated with pride? Oh, I'm shouting it from the rooftops. So let me put you on to my latest discovery: DIHO SIAM, right in the heart of Ladera Ranch. If you've followed me on Yelp for a while, you already know I'm a lifelong Thai‑food fanatic. I've been loyal to Thai cuisine longer than some people stay loyal in relationships. Since I wasn't trying to overeat, I ordered an appetizer, and let me tell you, this "appetizer" came out looking like a BIG FULL-GROWN lunch. I'm not a big white‑meat gal, so I asked if they had anything with dark meat. I ended up with chicken wings and drumsticks in a sweet‑and‑sour sauce. The moment I cut into that chicken? I ascended. The breading had that perfect balance...not too salty, not too bland...crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. I'm not saying I had a foodie‑induced spiritual experience, but if I did, nobody needed to know. One look at the rest of the menu and I knew I'd be back. Yes, I will absolutely make the 45‑minute drive to try their lunch dishes. It's worth it. And the prices? Shockingly reasonable considering the economy is basically held together with duct tape and vibes. Now, my one note for the owners: please, for the love of all things holy and iced... offer a dairy‑free Thai iced tea option. It was 94° today, and I was ready to down two giant glasses, but they only use half‑and‑half. This is California. We are oat‑milk, soy‑milk, almond‑milk, "I'm‑on‑Ozempic‑don't‑judge‑me" people. Give the people what they want. Add oat milk to the menu, put a cute little 4x5 flyer in a clear acrylic stand on each table announcing your new dairy‑free Thai iced tea, and watch customers flock to it. And just to close this out on a high note: I'm 100% coming back to Diho Siam. There are way too many dishes on that menu calling my name, and I fully intend to answer. Consider this my official teaser...I'll be updating my Yelp Elite Squad review after my next visit, and trust me, people wait for those updates like they wait for a second date after a great first one. I might even give you an extra star and make it a Five-Star review! Wink! wink! Stay tuned, because this place has officially earned a spot on my "must‑return" list. And don't forget to give me a thumbs up or a heart if you like my reviews and follow me!

You literally have to wave them down for refills, or remind for sauces, etc. one time it took 15 minutes from when we asked for a check to get the bill. Then another 10 for them to pick it up, so we got up and took it to the front register. Ordering takeout is even worse. They hand you a receipt to sign and tip them for...well I don't know why they expect a tip. Every visit I ask for several types of sauces and or utensils, they are ALWAYS skimping out. If I order 3 entrees and I ask for hot sauce, I should be given enough hot sauce for my order. Skinny short haired lady hands me 3 ketchup size packets for 3 entrees max. The final straw was on a takeout order when I see the typical "3 sauces for 3 entrees" and I ask as usual for more sauces, the lady has the audacity to give me 1 more and then turns around not saying bye. I go to my car and per usual they forget all utensils. I go back in and the lady is visibly mad I'm back, I ask for utensils and she gives me 2 (bro I always order 3 entrees, it's for 3 people). I ask for one more and she scoffs but gives me the third. Then says "do you need anything else?" Yes ma'am, I need you to learn customer service if you're front of house. Every time I come in I'm angered by her attitude and service. NEVER EVER AGAIN!

My daughter ordered the pad Thai. I ordered a green Thai curry and asked them to make it spicy - level 4 out of 5. The lunch special came with either a soup or a salad. We both ordered the soup. The server came out a while later and asked us if we would both like a salad, on the house, before the soup, since they were still preparing the soup. I decided to skip the soup and go with the salad. My daughter kept the soup. The salad was a bit of mixed greens - nothing special- with some sort of honey mustard dressing on top. When the soup arrived, I regretted getting the salad. The soup had veggies and chicken, and was pretty tasty. My daughter received her pad Thai and started eating, and I waited and waited. My daughter let me taste some of her pad Thai. I think she felt bad that I still hadn't received my food. The pad Thai was very good. Could have used some spice, but still very good. The server came out again and asked if I would be ok with having brown rice instead of their white rice at no extra charge. I agreed - I guess arriving at opening wasn't the way to go. I waited a little bit more, and finally my curry arrived. It was worth the wait. It was really good. It could have been more spicy, but it was still good. The curry was loaded with vegetables and chicken and was very wholesome, especially after I added rice to the bowl. Definitely could have been more spicy though. If the food wasn't as good as it was, I would have given them three stars, but I was happy with my meal. I would recommend coming here, just not right at opening. I do have a good tolerance for heat. However, extra spicy may be overkill. The papaya salad was also delicious. It comes w two large shrimp. The papaya was crisp, even the next day and the day after. I was more interested in the papaya salad itself than the shrimp, but you can also opt for the salted crab as an option. Pad Thai was ok, but I'm not fickle when it comes to this dish. But if you are particular/ picky about your Pad Thai this might not be for you. It was a bit sweeter and heavier on the sauce. The noodles were also a bit too soft. That's probably because it was a togo order so it continued steaming in the container, so I don't fault the restaurant for that. The dishes I would pass on would be the green beans in garlic sauce. They were older, tougher green beans. But it came w mushrooms that were good. Maybe it's just this shipment of green beans that weren't young and crisp. But, I would skip it all together and try something else next time. This restaurant is family owned and they work hard. It's good to support family businesses. Definitely give them a try.

Show up right at evening opening to even have a chance at getting a table without waiting 1-2 hours. Struggle to find parking. Order food and it kind of takes forever. While waiting for our food, we almost always start to wonder if it's all worth it. And then every time, once the food arrives, that conversation gets dropped. We always order the Manaao Pork Jowl and Khao Soi with braised beef. We also typically order a noodle dish as well. As always, their Khao Soi is fantastic. The flavor is deep and the curry is rich. The beef is always cooked until it falls apart between your chopsticks. The one we were a bit unsure about was why they started to serve the pork jowl with no sauce on the side. We feel like when we first started ordering the dish, the sauce was lightly drizzled on top and served on the side in a small ramekin. Now, all of the sauce comes on top of the pork which seems to have made the dish a bit colder and less crispy. Still, the flavor is dialed, perfectly sweet and tangy. Their noodles are also always fantastic, perfectly cooked and seasoned. This visit we decided to try a new curry, and went with the Chu Chee Curry with Fried Catfish. This dish blew us away. We were immediately surprised by the generous portion of catfish, which seemed to be a full fried filet. At first, I felt like the batter may have been too thick for my liking. It seemed to be so thick and fried that it would taste crunchy rather than crispy if that makes sense. However, once coated in the curry sauce and enjoyed with the rice, the textures work together perfectly to maintain the crisp of the fry on the fish, which was cooked just right. The curry was light, which meant it didn't overpower the subtle flavor of the fish. We also ordered dessert for the first time off of the recommendation of a friend to try the rice balls in coconut milk with coconut ice cream. The flavor was amazing, and the texture of the rice balls (think mochi but more soft and tender rather than chewy) was very pleasant alongside the crunchy bits of fried mung bean. Our only gripe was that even by the time the dish reached our table, the ice cream was mostly melted. If anything, I feel like serving them separately would help maintain the temperatures, and enjoying them together in that way could create a more satisfying contrast. As always, Manaao is our favorite Thai spot in Orange County. I definitely recommend.
