Went here last night for dinner and would definitely go back. Started with the butterfly shrimp, it was good although nothing spectacular. BF had the wonton soup which he really liked. Broth was good. I ordered the pineapple fried rice with chicken. Very good. Portion was huge and was easily 2 meals for me. He had the Crying Tiger, which was very good and fork tender. Had the mango sticky rice for dessert. The woman who took our order was nice and explained things to us and was very friendly. The chef and possibly the owner came out to ask how things were. This out of the way place is a must for anyone who enjoys Thai cuisine. Meena, the owner is attentive and friendly as well as knowledgeable and a great chef along side her family. The wonton soup is to die for! It has beautiful rice wontons and bokchoi leaves in it as well as a delicious broth. The spring rolls are scrumptious and filled with vegetables and glass noodles. Spring rolls tasted like they used stale wrappers and I did not like the sauce. Fried shrimp were ok, but I did not like the sauce. Chicken wings were pretty good quality, but I did not like the sauce. That's 0/3 on sauce for me, but to their credit they were all different so they are trying. I got the penang curry with beef, very spicy. That's 3/5 chilis because they have thai spicy at 4/5 and like a super thai spicy 5/5. At 3/5, it was spicy in my mouth, but didn't make my head sweat. I was also a bit disappointed in the amount of beef and peppers in the dish. That all said, the curry was tasty. The drunken noodles and pad thai were both very tasty and the best thing we ordered. Visited for lunch while on business in the area. The restaurant is very clean and cozy. I ordered the Drunken Noodles with chicken and it was one of the best I've ever had. The food came quickly and hot. Other than that, it was not great. The curry was flavorless, and basically a giant tub of sauce with four tiny pieces of chicken and peppers floating in it. The thai-style omelet was also pretty flavorless and definitely not big enough for the price. The pad thai was very overly sweet and sticky. The thai fried rice was probably the best thing we had and it was just fine. The drunken noodles were mostly chicken and veggies with very few noodles and aside from spice it also lacked a depth of flavor. I wanted to gatekeep this gem of a place but I have to share it. My family comes to this place once a week. It's that good. We usually order the Boat Noodles (deep and rich beef broth with chewy rice noodles), Crying Tiger (tenderest bbq beef with the most addictive sauce), and their Mango sticky rice for dessert. My 2 year old inhales the mango sticky rice and I'm always tempted to order a 2nd one. It's a crossover between a delicious pho and hearty Taiwanese beef noodle soup but Thai style of course. $18 for a good amount of thin rice noodles, beef shank, beef balls and slices of pork in a strong flavor beef broth, yums! Not many Thai places in Jersey sells Boat noodle, you'll find it more at Hell's Kitchen NYC and this one actually taste great. The young Thai lady server was attentive, sweet and friendly so thumbs up all around. Only downside is that It's located in a secluded strip mall in Helmetta so it's a find unless you live near there. It's a small place but it's cozy and intimate run by Thai ladies cook which is always a good sign. As a foodie I would go to the end of world to try new delicacies and today I found a gem. read more

Their drunken noodles had the right spice level and their spring rolls were really crispy and tasty. However I didn't like their sauce. I thought it could've been better. I get the feeling that this truck is so named because the restaurateurs are addicted to Thai food. It can't be because they want to get you addicted, because this food will not do that. Our food was handed to us relatively cold. From sampling the sweet potato puffs, they were mostly sweet potato with little to differentiate between the meat and veg versions. Supposedly there was taro in the veg one. Couldn't find it. Not impressed by this early offering, but they have a chance to step it up. Step 1: All food served hot. If you already pre-prepared the food, finish it up to order. Don't let it sit. Step 2: Are you authentic Thai, or fusion? If authentic, drop the sweet potato. If fusion, advertise that more strongly. Fusion is kinda in right now. May or may not try again. Would need evidence of improvement. read more

This is my spot. Whenever I crave pad thai, I go to this place. I have had pad thai from numerous restaurants, but somehow I really like the flavor of this one the best. It tastes sweet, spicy, and rich. However this time, I also got the drunken noodles. It wasn't my favorite - I felt that it was pretty spicy yet lacking in flavor. Finally went and tried this new Thai restaurant in helmetta, NJ. They are known for their food truck , but now have a storefront as well. Very happy to have them close by because the food is very good. Authentic Thai food! They are doing everything fresh and know how to spice everything correctly. Very good heat levels. I Had the papaya salad which was very good and fresh. Also had the marinated fried pork ribs and chicken wings as an appetizer. Go try both asap! I am sure all the other appetizers are delicious. For my main entree I had the PORK TOM YUM NOODLES which is a specialty of theirs at Thai Food Addict. The staff was very friendly and helpful with all my questions. I'm addicted to the Thai pockets (chicken). it is juicy and packed with meat! The bento box lunch special is big in portion. The Pad See Ew with beef is my go to every time. The spring roll must be eaten right away. A little moisture and the wrapper will be chewy. I am not a big fan of the sweet chili sauce for all food, only for certain. Wish they have more sauce options. When there's meat entree, please serve it with white jasmine rice, not the sticky rice - that's for desserts. There have plenty of other choices we've yet to try. Excellent Thai food in our area finally. The key point for me being vegetarian options which surprisingly are limited in my neighborhood. The entrees were excellent, really flavor with a full complement of veggies. We ordered medium spicy and it was excellent. The portion sizes are quite good, especially considering so many places have started shrinking their portion sizes. If you are picky about your order, I would recommend calling in the order as the staff really work hard in getting your order done right. We definitely plan to order here again. read more

I haven't had a ton of Thai food in my life but the little I've had has always been delicious and Thai Food Addict continued the trend. I had the Hot and Spicy Beef Soup, sorry to say it was not hot nor spicy....it was delicious nonetheless! I also had the Panang with chicken which was mildly spicy (as advertised) so next time I'll have them kick it up a notch on the heat too (I guess you can tell I like it spicy). It had such a delicious broth I couldn't stop eating it! All in all, I will definitely be going back, they won me over. Can't wait for the next item on the menu to explore! read more

Haven't had much thai food before but it's reputation for being spicy precedes it. I am extremely sensitive to that and at first my meal was too spicy but they were happy to modify it for me, and they even offered me some spring rolls as an apology which was not required but was very much appreciated! The quality of the food was very high but the portion sizes were smallish I guess to compensate. We did not leave feeling hungry though, because the very tasty sticky rice and somewhat average jasmine rice filled us the rest of the way up. This is definitely a lot better than your typical Chinese take out! And it's about the same price too. I'd recommend them to anyone who is sick of general Tso's, even those who, like me, cannot handle any level of spiciness. read more

We ordered $99 worth of food. 1.5 hours later, we discovered it was delivered to the wrong house on another street. The food itself was not good. The sauce was to thin and did not stick well on the rice. They did not give enough rice. The sampler appetizer was over fried and the chicken was dry. This place is disorganized, overpriced, and quality is not good. I heard there is a That restaurant in English town NJ that we will try next time. I can make better red curry myself. read more
