I got the Drunken Noodles with chicken and eggrolls. I started with the eggroll, which simply put, was awful. It was dry, bland, and seemed to be the kind that's sold frozen at the store. I was skeptical after that. But the Drunken Noodles were amazing. I added mushrooms to the noodles and they didn't skimp. The dish was sweet and spicy at the same time. I love Thai Garden! It's conveniently located in a strip mall with parking right near the entrance. They seem to only have carryout, no dine in, but that's okay by me. It's easy to call and place an order, and the staff is always friendly. My favorite orders are the tofu curry pad Thai, chicken pad Thai, crab rangoons, and shrimp chips. The food is always reliable and delicious. They have huge portions imo, too. They really pack it in. I would just keep in mind that the spice levels don't always seem to be consistent. So even though I'm semi-okay with spice, I'll never go above mild here, just in case! read more

Noodle dishes are good, the coconut fried rice is fantastic, and my favorites are the pa nang and pad pak. I love Thai Garden and have been going there since they opened. My husband (boyfriend at the time) would go there every other Friday for "date night". Even though they changed the service (take out only), I still grab some food to go once a month. It does look like you can eat inside after you get your food although I haven't done that. Best Thai food in town! The spice levels aren't always consistent, so it is better to go safe and add your own if needed. I don't think there is a bad thing on the menu. They are also great with food restrictions, any time I've changed an order to exclude meat or egg they have made sure the order was correct. Ordered carry out, well that's all they do actually. We ordered the cheese wonton, a pad Thai with chicken and steamed tofu, extra, extra hot and the pad pak with chicken and steamed tofu and no baby corn. Order takes about 15 minutes to make. The total was $23.80. Shrimp chips are an extra $3 for the bag. Staff was friendly for our pickup. The crab cheese wontons are worthless. Maybe a dime size of cheese. We ended up biting off the small bit of cheese and leaving the leathery remainder of the wonton. The shrimp crackers were fresh, crunchy and good. The pad Thai is hot as heck, perfect for my husband. Too hot for me. My pad pak is meh. Not special at all. Not so spicy. It's just so-so. I ate more shrimp cracker than my pad pak. read more

I love Pad See Ew, it's the only dish I ever order, and I've ordered it at many restaurants over the years. Thai Gardens' rendition is in my "Top Two" places to order this dish. Their mild+ is a touch spicier than most, which IMHO is the perfect heat level. The crab Rangoons were disappointing- another thing I order everywhere I go, and have usually end up being disappointed nearly everywhere I go, so that's kinda par for the course. This is still a post pandemic carryout location. The food is served hot and fast for pickup. And ambiance is rather limited in that this is still carryout. The food here is consistent. I ordered takeout and meant to leave a tip of $3-4, but accidentally gave the greeter a $20 without realizing it. The restaurant called me back just 5 minutes later explaining what happened and asking if my large tip was a mistake. I was so surprised that they cared enough to call instead of just pocketing the money, that I told them they could keep it. It's nice to know in these hard times there are still some people, and some businesses, who choose to do the right thing even when they don't have to. Thai Garden has earned a customer for life. The food here was abysmal. The Thom Gai had canned button mushrooms, no coconut milk (which is supposed to be the base of the soup. It tasted like spicy red dishwater. The Pad Thai had rice noodles and sauce--you had to dig for the egg and the small bit of tofu included. Unfortunate, as I have eaten here in the past and found it decent. I'm not sure where these great reviews are coming from, but my leftovers are going in the trash. read more

Order the Pad thai from here medium spice .. was pretty good just only thing i can complain about is the fresh rolls felt more of it just being a filler barely any type of protein. This place has been up the street from me for a year and I finally got around to trying it. The prices drew me in, but I understand why they are what they are now. The portions are quite a bit smaller than many other Thai restaurants I've tried. My dinner came in a small, upright Chinese takeout box rather than a large flat carry out box like most places. Not a deal breaker though. It was only $8.50 and I did have leftovers. The taste: they are not light on spice. I always feel my Pad Thai is never spicy enough so I asked for medium+. Holy spice. It wasn't too much but it definitely made me sweat. I got both chicken and tofu which that was nice that they didn't charge me extra for doing that. Overall not bad. Definitely helped kill my Thai craving while being close to home and not breaking the bank. read more

I've been going to Thai Garden about once a week for more than ten years. I have always gotten one of a few dishes, either pad ped, pad pak, or prew warn. They have been very consistent and satisfying. When you first sit down, you get a cup of soup, no charge. After you order, your food hits the table within minutes, often before you finish your soup. Wait staff has always been friendly and attentive. I like the dining room because it's quiet and relaxing at Thai Garden (unlike the loud Thai place in downtown Ferndale, whose food is no better). I also took my son here with me regularly for about a year and their potato dish (sorry, don't know the name) became I think one of his favorite dishes of all time. He talks about it like it's in his hall of fame. As far as the lunch specials (which I always get), you cannot beat the prices at Thai Garden. Even their lunch combo with fried rice, Thai salad, and a spring roll is at this writing about $8.50 before tip and tax. The basic (non-combo) lunches are about $7.00. You can't beat that at Taco Bell! As to carry out, as I say, I eat in the dining room weekly, and I've never seen a carry-out customer wait more than a few minutes. Plus, the servers taking orders are all completely fluent in English unlike some places, so that's not a problem. Thai Garden is not a fancy place, and the food is not the fancy. It's just good, solid Thai food. For substantially more money, you can find more gourmet Thai cuisine, (that's why I keep this review at four stars, not five). But for consistent, tasty, satisfying, inexpensive food in a pleasant, friendly, relaxing place, you'll search far and wide to beat Thai Garden. read more

Sauce was unmistakenly a ketchup-sugar mess. The egg roll was served with a side car of applesauce instead of plum or sweet/sour sauce. Very odd. After coming here for years something has changed, and NOT for the better. The quality of food has gone down drastically. I typically order the same 3-7 items one of them almost always being the chicken satay. I came home to open my carry out order to find little slivers of chicken. It looks like maybe 1/3 or less of what one skewer used to be. It's over cooked and dry because it's cut so small, and the price has not changed. Okay. Dropping them one star since the food I've had on visits subsequent to my first one has been a bit more disappointing than I'd hoped. I'm still very happy with the fact that I can order from them on a Sunday, but the food has been less than it should have been. In fact, I've only ordered two different dishes over my 5 different visits, but in each of the last four, there's been something that takes away from the dish each time. With the red coconut curry vegetable dish, each time subsequent to the first, at *least* one of the vegetables has been out-and-out strange in its taste. One time it was the water chestnuts, and so I avoided those in the next order...and then in that order the baby corn was odd. It feels a bit like they might be using some canned veggies that might be past their prime. I also tried their drunken noodles, to which I had to pay $1 to add Thai basil, which to be honest should already be in there. The sauce they use is *way* too sweet and thick...almost cloying and not very diverse in the mouth. I would not get these again. So, in no case did any dish not get eaten, but the enjoyability factor of the food has decreased since my initial visit. It's a very nice thing that they have Sunday availability, but if the food is going to be mediocre, I'll just stifle my cravings for Thai one more day until Monday. There are better places to get Thai...but I can't think of a better one on a Sunday. read more

Tried this place for the first time recently after living close by for the last two years. To be honest, the only reason I tried it was because Pi's Thai was running slow that night. I tried the chicken pad thai and it was quite a bit different than what I expected and what you would normally get anywhere else. Not in a bad way though. The pad Thai actually comes with rice and noodles. The uniqueness comes from the rice I think. It reminded me a lot of Spanish rice. Not necessarily Thai. It had good flavor though and was pretty filling. The combo came with an egg roll that was pretty good. And it also came with a Thai salad. This was basically lettuce and bean sprouts with a peanut butter based dressing. This salad was quite unique as well as I've never seen it served anywhere else. It was nice to have the salad if the entree got too spicy. However, the peanut butter dressing was overly sweet like they added sugar almost and it was kind of runny. But overall it was super quick, staff was friendly, and meal was tasty. I would come back and try something else. Pi's Thai May have some competition. read more

My go-to takeout Thai. N2 Pad Thai curry is my favorite but have had Sp1,2, Cashew chicken and more. Almond cookies and shrimp chips on the counter for a dollar and the staff is always Ferndale Friendly. I feel like I can handle my spice but anything more than mild here is too much. I like this place. While it's not the most amazing Thai food I've ever had, it still hits the spot when I get a craving and don't want to drive 20 min or wait for delivery.
