Ordered jasmine tea and two brunch specials. Pad see wee and there wide noodle, both with chicken. I figured have some for later as there is no location in my area. They brought the soup and spring roll which is good. I was sad they changed their chicken potsticker to a pork one. My meal was great. Really flavorful. I got a tea to go as well. The table had a slight stickiness to it, which took away from the clean, refined atmosphere I expect when dining out.The dishes were pleasant but tended to blur together, each sharing the same flavor profile rather than offering the bright, layered notes that make Thai cuisine shine. After two visits, I'm still waiting for a dish that truly stands out.There are nearby restaurants that offer a noticeably cleaner environment and far more memorable Thai options, so it's hard to justify a third visit. After a very offputting experience last time, we finally decided to revisit...hoping to see some changes. Well, I'm glad to say that things were better...though still not at the level it used to be? Right away, we noticed that the lighting has improved...a bit brighter, and not so stark and ominous?? Also, despite being a busy night, we noticed that all the waitresses seemed to be calm (not running around like headless chickens like last time!). Unlike our experiences from way back (2 to 20 years ago?), service was a bit slow though. Our waitress was very nice, but I just remember how quickly the foods got delivered to the table...but for the past few times, it took a lot longer. I was also disappointed in that their Gyoza (Potstickers) didn't look or taste the same as before...it was MUCH better before! Luckily the curry dishes were just as good...absolutely delish!! My husband always order the Yellow Curry, and I prefer the Red Curry...these are always near-perfect. Also, the pricing is still very reasonable, despite the inflations. This is my favorite location. Their food is more flavorful than the others. Order: Som Tum, Garlic Prawn and Scallop, Half Toast BBQ Duck, Chicken Pad Thai. Som Tum is a Thai salad made of shredded green papaya, green beans, and tomatoes on top of a bed of lettuce and dressed with a spicy/tart dressing. The Prawns & and scallops were sautéed in garlic sauce with bell peppers and scallions and served with cucumber, tomato, and lettuce. The duck was fried crispy with mixed vegetables and a side of BBQ sauce. The pad Thai is a thin rice noodle stir fried with beansprouts, onions, and eggs. I enjoyed everything I ordered. Some things that stood out are: the papaya salad had the right amount of funk (IYKYK), the duck was nicely crispy, and the pad Thai noodles weren't soggy. read more

The first time I ordered the Tom Kha (coconut lime soup) with chicken and a side of steamed noodles for about $8/$9. Phenomenal deal - chicken totaled to about 3 pieces, was a little underwhelming. I add the steamed noodles to the soup and was so filling! Ive been craving the coconut soup so I ordered again, this time veggie and ordered the lychee dessert. Veggie serving in the soup was plentiful, and much more content in the soup than what I paid for with the chicken. Still so good! Ive been in the mood for mango sticky rice and was hoping they would have that as a dessert option (they dont) and found the lychee option! I will be ordering this again! The first to-go order was placed on a Thursday night and the meal was marked "ready for pick up" before I could even arrive at the restaurant (ready before quoted pick up time). Tonight, being a Saturday, was a bit hectic. I arrived at the quoted "ready for pick up" time and the restaurant was slammed! Always a good sign! Quoted time was 7:12, then pushed to 7:15 then was not ready till 7:30. On Friday/Saturday nights Id say add about 20 minutes to your quoted time. Thai House does a good representation of many Thai dishes but some others are not done in the traditional way. I guess they're like any other restaurant in that they do some things really well and other things not so much. I have been eating Thai food for 45 years so my standards are very high. I'm also used to eating Thai dishes in the traditional way. That being said, Thai House does a great job with most of their dishes and some are very nice! They do Pad Thai well which is fortunate since that's one Thai dish that most Americans are familiar with. It's just not a dish that I order that often. There are many other great options on a standard Thai menu. Some dishes that Thai House pulls off very nicely are the Red Curry (Gang Dang). Their Pud Gra Pow is also very tasty! I get them to swap out bell peppers for green beans (Thai country style). Another of my favorites here is Pud Prik Khing which is very basil intensive. If you love basil then you will love this dish! One dish that the waiter (Matt) introduced me to is Gai Kwah which uses a fresh rice noodle versus dried. By the way, don't worry about the exact spellings of the dishes as the Thai language is phonetic which means things are spelled in English the way they sound in the Thai language. The ambience is very nice and authentic with beautiful wood carvings everywhere. The service is always fantastic even when they are very busy. Kudos! read more

I asked for different dish but they weren't willing to swap it for a new dish. Id have to purchase a whole new meal in order to try something else. Not worth your time or money. Everything about this place is wonderful, from a few new menu options, including Yum Woon Sen, a salad of beanthread (cellophane or glass) noodles, ground chicken or pork, red onion and other chopped vegetables, and a delightfully citrusy dressing, over lettuce. Service is impeccable, and the décor feels timelessly elegant, with stunning wood carvings and a beautiful showpiece in a glass case. I was distressed to hear, however, that some entitled morons had been allowing children to run around, disturbing other diners, and that one entitled idiot assumed that a newborn would be accomodated by restaurant staff, and had the gall to become angry about his lack of parental attention. Stand up for good workers, and speak out, if bad parents cannot control (or take responsibility for) their own children! I have never had a bad dining experience, here, except when children have been allowed to spoil the evening by their irresponsible parents. Well-behaved children, exploring the art, are never a problem. Ill-behaved children reflect upon bad parenting. Just remember that restaurant staff are not babysitters or childcare. read more

This is my fave Thai spot in Charlotte! You may be tempted to order take-out, but I recommend eating in, as the interior is lovely with intricate woodwork throughout. There is a large wooden sculpture with elephants in the middle as well as a pagoda-like structure encasing one of the booths. So pretty and unique! We were seated right away for dinner on a Sunday, and the service was super friendly, helpful, and speedy. At each booth was a bottle of Sriracha - I don't know how they have it when it seems like the rest of the country can't get their hands on a bottle! That's enough of a reason to come eat here! The menu is large and has a mix of classic Thai dishes as well as some I hadn't encountered before. As an appetizer, we ordered the knock-out rolls with shrimp. These two rolls, wrapped in rice paper, were a nice size and tasted very fresh. I loved the peanut dipping sauce. A great start to our meal! For our entrees, we chose to share the Thai-style pad kee mow with beef and the pineapple fried rice with pork. The pork option comes with both pieces of pork as well as Chinese sausage. The sausage was so tasty paired with the sweet pineapple and savory rice - next time I'll ask for just this and leave out the pork pieces. The pad kee mow, which we asked for spice level 2, was so flavorful, and we loved the texture of the wide noodles. There was a good amount of veggies, and both portions were large, so we took home leftovers. We're already planning what we'll order when we return! read more

Looking through the great reviews, I see so many fellow of my Yelp friends and I'm sorry for not listening sooner! Warm service when I arrived and was immediately seated. I was provided a menu and a moment later, my waiter arrived to take my drink order. When he returned, I was ready. Red curry with chicken. Medium spicy. White rice. Soup and spring roll were dropped off by one runner and five minutes later, my lunch arrived. A good portion, plated and presented nicely. I took a taste and there was just enough heat to make it interesting but not too much. I probably could have gone up another notch and still enjoyed it. A perfect sized portion for lunch, I cleared it all. It was delicious. A great balance of chicken and al dente vegetables and curry sauce. The rice was perfect for soaking it up and ensuring no waste. I love that they present the check with the credit card machine at the table. Perfect. Thai House goes into my rotation for lunch. While sitting in the parking lot behind Thai House, I witnessed an unsettling incident involving one of the employees. I saw a worker throw a box and trash into the bin, then reopen it to pull out a wire basket, which looked like the kind used for frying food. The basket appeared old, rusted, with wires hanging off it. He shook out its contents and walked back inside with the same basket he had just pulled from the trash. Concerned about what I had just seen, I asked to speak with a manager. Instead of getting a manager, the staff requested that I come inside the restaurant. Once inside, the host insisted I tell her what the problem was, despite me repeatedly asking to speak with a manager. Eventually, I was told no manager was available because they were off for the day. I explained what I had witnessed, but the host showed no concern and simply told me to return the next day to speak with management. I walked out the front door to go return back to the location to record a video of the area. Interestingly, the same host came out and wanted to have a conversation only after seeing me recording. At that point, it was too late to resolve my concerns. read more

Thai Palace at Tower Place is a solid Thai restaurant with emphasis on service and food. I've been on many occasions and the reason is because the staff does a phenomenal job of helping with recommendations, taking special orders and being expedient. When you arrive, you can't help but to feel that you've traveled to a different time, the decor is amazing and the atmosphere is relaxed. The menu is extensive and the descriptions are detailed so you know what to expect. I normally go for the Kang Pa Curry which is one of my favorites or the Thai Roasted chicken. I've always had a great meal just as if it's the first time. There isn't much of a wait time yet they are typically very busy for lunch so set aside at least 45 minutes to eat. This is definitely one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Charlotte and the prices are in line for the quality of food and service you get. Enjoy! read more

We started with Spring Rolls. They were crispy and the sauce was perfectly sweet and light. Chicken Satay followed. It was decent, although we've had better. A great local find that really understands dietary restrictions. I was asking for my wife and let them know that she was gluten free and wanted to order the curry. They had to check in the back and they confirmed that there is a particular soy sauce that they used in the curry so all of the curries were not gluten-free. Same with the desserts that have a little milk cream in them as my wife has a dairy allergy, too. Great place for a special occasion! Came in on a Saturday evening to celebrate a friend's birthday and the outstanding service truly made our night. Our server was attentive, funny, and full of good recommendations- helpful when the menu is huge and everything sounds appetizing. We went with four steamed spring rolls for an appetizer- very fresh tasting and served with plenty of the yummy peanut sauce. I got adventurous and ordered the Pla Sarm Ros as my entree. Not for the faint of heart as this is a deep fried snapper served whole!
