#4 Spring Rolls.
Deveis W.

Had a great dinner at Thai House ! Loved the lights they have on the ceilings , really sets the mood for the restaurant. I started with their vegetable spring rolls and they were delicious and I appreciated the amount they give as well. For my entree I went with the shrimp fried rice which was tasty and plentiful , I left filled ! Service was attentive and recommended the Lychee Iced Tea ( 10/10!! ) will definitely be back to try others on the menu!

Came here for lunch with the family. Food was great and the service was great also. Really consistent every time we come here. The food is always cooked perfect and man that mango sticky rice. Don't leave without ordering that. Nice plump mango with some creamy stick rice with coconut mil!

After a very offputting experience last time, we finally decided to revisit...hoping to see some changes. Well, I'm glad to say that things were better...though still not at the level it used to be? Right away, we noticed that the lighting has improved...a bit brighter, and not so stark and ominous?? Also, despite being a busy night, we noticed that all the waitresses seemed to be calm (not running around like headless chickens like last time!). Unlike our experiences from way back (2 to 20 years ago?), service was a bit slow though. Our waitress was very nice, but I just remember how quickly the foods got delivered to the table...but for the past few times, it took a lot longer. I was also disappointed in that their Gyoza (Potstickers) didn't look or taste the same as before...it was MUCH better before! Luckily the curry dishes were just as good...absolutely delish!! My husband always order the Yellow Curry, and I prefer the Red Curry...these are always near-perfect. Also, the pricing is still very reasonable, despite the inflations. Overall, I was relieved to see that things improved since our last time here. This is still our favorite Thai spot in town...and hopefully it'll stay that way!

I have now ordered twice from this restaurant this week after trying it for the first time! Sooo good! The first time I ordered the Tom Kha (coconut lime soup) with chicken and a side of steamed noodles for about $8/$9. Phenomenal deal - chicken totaled to about 3 pieces, was a little underwhelming. I add the steamed noodles to the soup and was so filling! Ive been craving the coconut soup so I ordered again, this time veggie and ordered the lychee dessert. Veggie serving in the soup was plentiful, and much more content in the soup than what I paid for with the chicken. Still so good! Ive been in the mood for mango sticky rice and was hoping they would have that as a dessert option (they dont) and found the lychee option! I will be ordering this again! The first to-go order was placed on a Thursday night and the meal was marked "ready for pick up" before I could even arrive at the restaurant (ready before quoted pick up time). Tonight, being a Saturday, was a bit hectic. I arrived at the quoted "ready for pick up" time and the restaurant was slammed! Always a good sign! Quoted time was 7:12, then pushed to 7:15 then was not ready till 7:30. On Friday/Saturday nights Id say add about 20 minutes to your quoted time. The kitchen was slammed and the DoorDash orders were comin! I will continue to come back - food has been DELICIOUS and amazing pricing! Next time hope for a dine-in option!

Thai House does a good representation of many Thai dishes but some others are not done in the traditional way. I guess they're like any other restaurant in that they do some things really well and other things not so much. I have been eating Thai food for 45 years so my standards are very high. I'm also used to eating Thai dishes in the traditional way. That being said, Thai House does a great job with most of their dishes and some are very nice! They do Pad Thai well which is fortunate since that's one Thai dish that most Americans are familiar with. It's just not a dish that I order that often. There are many other great options on a standard Thai menu. Some dishes that Thai House pulls off very nicely are the Red Curry (Gang Dang). Their Pud Gra Pow is also very tasty! I get them to swap out bell peppers for green beans (Thai country style). Another of my favorites here is Pud Prik Khing which is very basil intensive. If you love basil then you will love this dish! One dish that the waiter (Matt) introduced me to is Gai Kwah which uses a fresh rice noodle versus dried. By the way, don't worry about the exact spellings of the dishes as the Thai language is phonetic which means things are spelled in English the way they sound in the Thai language. The ambience is very nice and authentic with beautiful wood carvings everywhere. The service is always fantastic even when they are very busy. Kudos!

Chicken Pad Thai spice level 2

We both ordered chicken pad thai take out one night and it was good! This location doesn't have crab rangoon which was a bummer so we enjoyed the spring rolls instead. The spice is SPICY! I usually order medium everything wherever we go and I chose level 2 spice based on other reviews. Really glad I did! It was spicy ya'll... had my nose running and everything. My husband ordered level 4 and he was fine but he's also a freak when it comes to spicy. The pad thai itself was exactly what you'd expect, nothing crazy. We enjoyed it!

Delicious food! This place has never disappointed when it comes to flavors. The restaurant itself is okay, service is okay. People are nice but always in a rush. I will be coming back as usual just for their food.

This is my fave Thai spot in Charlotte! You may be tempted to order take-out, but I recommend eating in, as the interior is lovely with intricate woodwork throughout. There is a large wooden sculpture with elephants in the middle as well as a pagoda-like structure encasing one of the booths. So pretty and unique! We were seated right away for dinner on a Sunday, and the service was super friendly, helpful, and speedy. At each booth was a bottle of Sriracha - I don't know how they have it when it seems like the rest of the country can't get their hands on a bottle! That's enough of a reason to come eat here! The menu is large and has a mix of classic Thai dishes as well as some I hadn't encountered before. As an appetizer, we ordered the knock-out rolls with shrimp. These two rolls, wrapped in rice paper, were a nice size and tasted very fresh. I loved the peanut dipping sauce. A great start to our meal! For our entrees, we chose to share the Thai-style pad kee mow with beef and the pineapple fried rice with pork. The pork option comes with both pieces of pork as well as Chinese sausage. The sausage was so tasty paired with the sweet pineapple and savory rice - next time I'll ask for just this and leave out the pork pieces. The pad kee mow, which we asked for spice level 2, was so flavorful, and we loved the texture of the wide noodles. There was a good amount of veggies, and both portions were large, so we took home leftovers. We're already planning what we'll order when we return!

I'm not sure why I waited so long to visit Thai House. The stars just never aligned properly and that's a shame. It was a mistake. I should have come here years ago. Looking through the great reviews, I see so many fellow of my Yelp friends and I'm sorry for not listening sooner! Warm service when I arrived and was immediately seated. I was provided a menu and a moment later, my waiter arrived to take my drink order. When he returned, I was ready. Red curry with chicken. Medium spicy. White rice. Soup and spring roll were dropped off by one runner and five minutes later, my lunch arrived. A good portion, plated and presented nicely. I took a taste and there was just enough heat to make it interesting but not too much. I probably could have gone up another notch and still enjoyed it. A perfect sized portion for lunch, I cleared it all. It was delicious. A great balance of chicken and al dente vegetables and curry sauce. The rice was perfect for soaking it up and ensuring no waste. I love that they present the check with the credit card machine at the table. Perfect. Thai House goes into my rotation for lunch. The menu is extensive, portions are generous, and this is the kind of place where ordering a variety of dishes and sharing family-style is the way to go. That's exactly what we did. We sampled everything from fresh basil rolls, crispy egg rolls, fried wontons, and other appetizers to curries, noodle dishes, vegetables, duck, chicken, and more. The basil duck was outstanding, the red curry was rich and flavorful, and the ginger chicken was another favorite at our table. Every dish arrived fresh, hot, and beautifully prepared. The cocktails were equally impressive. Colorful, creative, and well-balanced, they paired perfectly with the bold flavors coming out of the kitchen. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with an open-concept kitchen that adds energy and excitement to the dining experience. Service was attentive, friendly, and efficient, even on a busy evening. Now for the only downside: the prices. Basil Thai is not inexpensive. Some menu items are priced more like what you'd expect in San Francisco than Charlotte. The portions are generous and the quality is excellent, but be prepared for the bill if you're ordering cocktails, appetizers, and multiple entrées. Parking can also be a little challenging since it's located in a busy Uptown area. Plan on using a nearby parking garage and walking a short distance to the restaurant. That said, if you're looking for a special night out, authentic Thai flavors, generous portions, beautiful cocktails, and a lively atmosphere, Basil Thai is well worth a visit. Life is too short not to eat well, Charlotte. Get out there and eat your way through it.

There are some amazing Thai restaurants in NYC so that sets the bar pretty high. I ordered the Pad See Ew with shrimp which is definitely one of my "go-to" Thai entree selections. A couple of things I noticed. First of all they used regular broccoli in their version. I have never once seen regular broccoli and not Chinese Broccoli in this dish. That was disappointing. Then the shrimp had the talk on it. I've never had a Thai restaurant leave the tail on in a noodle dish. I found it to be annoying to have to wrestle with it. Unnecessary fir a noodle dish. Finally the sauce wasn't as sweet as o was used to. The recipe is usually made with a SWEET soy sauce. This was clearly regular soy sauce and quite honestly it tasted good first bit but there was a weird aftertaste that I can't describe which made me want to stop eating it even though the first bite was ok. Not sure what that aftertaste was but I'm not a fan and will probably never go back to try something else there. I'm gonna go gargle with Listerine now. The restaurant is cute, clean and in a great location but not authentic Thai in my eyes.

Naturally, I headed straight to Thai Thai Takeout, which has always been one of my comfort-food staples in Charlotte. Well, surprise -- the restaurant recently changed ownership and rolled out an entirely new menu. I was trying to order from my old takeout menu over the phone and quickly realized I was completely out of sync. Thankfully, the woman helping me was incredibly patient and kind while I figured it out. I ended up ordering the Pra Rahm Long Song with tofu, and honestly, it was delicious. It came loaded with steamed spinach, broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, napa cabbage, and cabbage covered in a rich peanut sauce that was comforting without feeling too heavy. The tofu soaked up all that flavor beautifully. I also ordered a pineapple red curry with pork at spice level 3. The curry itself was fantastic -- creamy, rich, loaded with pineapple, and really flavorful. I will say the spice level was pretty mild for a "3," so I added my own chilies at home to kick it up a notch. My only critique was the pork, which was a little dry and tough for my liking. I'm pretty particular about proteins and don't really do white meat chicken either, so next time I may try tofu or another option instead. The good news? The portions are generous, everything was packed nicely, and my order was hot and ready exactly when promised -- about 10 to 12 minutes after I called. Parking is easy right in front, and since it's takeout-only, it makes for a super quick and convenient dinner stop. Even though some longtime favorites like the satay seem to be gone, the new menu looks extensive and exciting enough that I'll absolutely be back to eat my way through it.
