When you are in the Woodbine Beach area and craving Thai food, you have to visit Thai House Cuisine. Currently, their chef has revamped the menu, and we tried some of these dishes. My favorites were the shrimp donut cakes (which looked dry but were so soft and flavorful on the inside), Picanya crying tigers (the shrimp was huge), Kho soi (the sauce was the star of the show), and the beef stew hotpot (resembled a Filipino dish called pares). A hidden gem in the beaches! This local restaurant on Queen St. East is a must- visit for anyone who loves authentic Thai food. It has a relaxed vibe making it the perfect place to grab food before or after a stroll along Woodbine beach. We got to try a variety of dishes and cocktails and everything exceeded my expectations. Great experience. Quick service and solid Thai dishes. They are child friendly ( which is a bonus) and provide utensils and cup covers. Not much space for a stroller though. The food is pretty bland. Ordered the Tom Yum Soup and Drunken Noodles. The Tom Yum was salty and lacking any depth of flavor. The drunken noodles were also bland and hardly spicy. I ordered hot sauce to complement the food, but it tasted watered down. The ambiance is dingy with weird christmas music playing. The place looks like it would serve really great thai food from the depreciated interior and cheap thai ornaments, but it's sorely disappointing. The waitress is unfortunately very rude. She checks the washroom after a customer has used it. Then she tells you to sit on the seat so nothing gets splashed under the the rim etc. I've been going to this restaurant for many years but now I feel very uncomfortable and will unfortunately not go here again. I was very embarrassed by her remark. I have a medical condition and I am always cleaning up as good as I can and there was no reason for the waitress to check up after I've been to the washroom. The toilet paper holder is broken for a very LONG time already without it getting fixed. But she complained about a few marks under the rim which I may have missed cleaning up. This was very embarrassing for me and totally not acceptable to mention this to my daughter. It's HER LOSS because we always tipped her generously. The food by the way is always very good and I will miss going here in future or at least as long as this waitress is working there. I am sorry but this is not acceptable at all. read more

Pick up diner order on a Sunday night. Pad Thai was good, spring rolls were good however the dipping sauce was very liquid. The big disappointment was the mango chicken, barely any mango pieces and the sauce was very liquid as well. So liquid that it would not adhere to the chicken or veggies. I'm very surprised this place has a rating less than 4 stars. I came here on Saturday evening with a group of 5 friends and we all ordered various dishes. I ordered curry pad thai and my friends ordered various mains like the pad thai, khao soi, pineapple fried rice, pad kra pao and calamari. Our table also got a free mango salad with coconut shrimp for spending over $50. We were all SO impressed with the food here that we forgot to take food pictures. Everything was so damn good. My curry pad thai was perfection, with big tiger shrimp, chicken and a generous amount of curry sauce. I absolutely loved it. Wonderful place for Thai food. Weekend lunch special includes complimentary veggie spring roll and soup ( beef or hot and sour). Beef soup was really good. In addition the Khao Soi was well prepared and the quantity and quality is worth the price. Good Panang curry as well. Good seating arrangement and good service too. Got the chicken pad thai for takeout. Overall quite bland and flavorless. Can't justify the $14 price tag on it. I suppose it could be the lack of competition in the area but the places a bit out west in the downtown area are much more enjoyable when it comes to pad thai. Friends and I got takeout chicken pad thai. Pad thai was more sweet than other places I been to. Tofu was too firm and the chicken was too dry. One of my friends took one bite and didn't want to eat the rest of her pad thai. Would give this experience a 2.5 if I could. read more

Good food and friendly staff! I got the yellow chicken curry which was very flavorful, my friend got the chicken pad thai which had a nice seared flavor to the noodles from the wok which I really liked. We got crispy wontons to split which to be honest my mother makes better ones, but being Asian myself I'm a little pickier when it comes to eating out at Asian restaurants. I wish the filling in the wontons had a little more flavor. Overall if you're hungry and looking for a place to eat, these large portions will definitely fill you up and cure anyone who is hangry. read more

This is my favourite place to get Thai food! My favourite dish on the menu is the kao soi, but I haven't been able to find it on the menu as of late . The coconut rice is perfect! I also recommend the thick chicken curry! My boyfriend is a big fan of the classic pad Thai! The vibe in this restaurant is so cozy! It has a nice big window that opens up right onto the beaches Queen st sidewalk. (Always a little spider friend in the corner of the window. This place was such a shock when we tried it. We thought the food was gonna be bad when we came here before so we skipped it but this time around I was craving a nice full meal and the other Thai place around here already burned me. So out of desperation, we came here to eat. BEST. DECISION. EVER. The food here was made so good, I was confused. It came very fast too and the server was very attentive and always filled our glasses and checked up on us. The place isn't busy on a Friday at 5 pm and it's such a shame because this place is so good. I guess it's lucky for us. I do think they get a lot of take out orders but that's a different experience, I'm guessing. Just a warning, their two chilies is very hot! I want to give it more stars because for $10 lunch you get a daily soup and spring roll, a main and ice cream which is awesome any where in this city I got the basil noodles and they were in a goupy soup instead of pan fried as I'd expected The ice cream was orange creamsicle flavour which didn't seem very Thai? I'd thought Mango or green tea or something. I honestly think that Thai House Cuisine is among the best Thai food in the city. Even after moving away from the Beaches and far into the West end, I've often gone out of my way to return to the East for Thai House Cuisine. They do great Cashew Nut Chicken, and their curry chicken and Pad Thai are also great. Love their vegetable rice, and the vegetarian spring rolls. I've always felt that the food here is fresh and of great quality, especially compared to other thai restaurants in the city. The restaurant itself is clean, comfortable, and welcoming. I had take out and ordered the Cashew nut chicken with a bowl of steamed rice and 3 vegy spring rolls with dipping sauce. OHHH MY, this was absolutely the best tasting food. They had quarter slices of fruit, the spice was less then I like but next time I'll ask them to spice it up for me. the whole bowl was just so well done and rice was perfect. These Thai places I go to are incredible or the food is just incredible. Came here to dine in one time with my girlfriend and the service was amazing, the sever was dressed in a Thai gown like you would think your in Thai land. She always made sure our water was topped up and gave us a free desert not knowing we were going to order a dessert. :) But I highly recommend this place, the seating is great and it's VERY clean and just looks so nice in there. read more

Awful service. I placed an order for a dinner party and 1.5 hrs later, the food still did not arrive. They offered to give me $12 credit only for this major inconvenience. I asked for a cancellation of my order, went with another restaurant that was reliable and quick. Okay, so to be fair, I defy anyone to name a restaurant in the east end that is worth traveling to the east end for from any location other than the east end! That said, this is probably the best Thai restaurant in the east end, at least as far as I have found so far. Compared to a number of other Thai restaurants in the city, this is no a 5 start place. The dishes are tasty and reliable though and well priced. Two people can eat there for about $35 or so which is pretty hard to find these days unless you're eating crap. The spring rolls are okay, the glass noodle is pretty good, but they put some kind of dark mushroom in it which I don't really think enhances the flavor and the load lots of dishes up with way to many peppers. Panang chicken curry, which is one of my favorite Thai dishes is awesome, and the restaurant itself is very pleasant and well designed. Watch out for the Thai spicy chicken, it's a house specialty and it's really good, but it will make your scalp sweat it's so spicy. read more

Particular favourites: spicy basil beef, ginger chicken, spring rolls, sticky rice with peanut sauce, mango salad, and their amazing pad thai! Arrived at the Thai House on Saturday evening, thinking it would be quite busy but we were luckily, able to get a table right by the window. Server brought us waters and menus immediately. We ordered the green curry chicken ($11.99), pad thai ($10.99), and the basil beef ($11.99). Food came very quickly, probably within 15 minutes. Flavours were all pretty standard but we found the servings to be smaller than usual. As we were leaving, the restaurant became very busy and it took quite some time to get our bill and left overs wrapped up (understandable). I've been here an awful lot of times and some of those times the meals have been amazing. Other times they've merely been OK. And yet other times I've had to rethink my meal choice because they're simply out of ingredients. I keep returning because the food is reliably OK and, about 75% of the time, amazing. Their noodle dishes are the biggest source of quality variability; sometimes the noodles are clearly overcooked (and thus challenging to separate from one another and eat because they're glued together) whereas in other cases they're done properly. The same with spicing: sometimes the 'hot' is super mild whereas in other instances it's appreciably warm in the back of your throat. The staff are always friendly and accommodating, and have given me discounts when the cooks have been unable to fulfil an order. The servers are all quick with refills and provide helpful guidance to diners who are unsure of different items on the menu. In terms of ambiance, the restaurant is tastefully decorated. It also tends to be pretty quiet in the evening and so a nice place to go with a friend or loved one for a quiet meal. All in all, Thai House Cuisine is worth visiting if you're looking for a regularly decent meal and are in the area. That said, don't come to the Beaches just to visit this particular location. read more

I got the pad Thai lunch special. The lady over the phone was very nice and answered all my questions as I'd never been there before. Pick up was fast and my meal was delicious !! I was super impressed. The special Came with a spring roll and a choice of soup or salad. The spring toll was very yummy (I don't usually like spring rolls) the wonton soup was like nothing I've ever had before ! Kinda had a taste of curry but was surprisingly delicious. I order two dishes, one was yellow noodle vegetarian which was bland and mostly noodles with a few veggies thrown in and one was asparagus and shiitake mushrooms in oyster sauce which was disgusting, it was like they took all the woody ends from the asparagus, I would not be exaggerating when I say there was not one tip in the entire dish, I ended up throwing most of it away completely a waste of money. I used to order from here all the time but like most places they obviously don't think they have to make an effort to keep customers, I will be going elsewhere next time I have a craving for Thai!! read more

Yuck. I wanted to like Thai House Cuisine but their spicy noodles (pad kee mao) were big time yuck. It may be that I misread the menu but the noodles weren't fried after they were boiled, jist doused with sauce which resulted in a slimy bowl full of wet sticky rice noodles. The best of reasons to give this Thai restaurant in the Beaches 5 stars: The staff are Thai, the owners are Thai and the chef is Thai. And because of that, their food tastes like the real deal, instead of someone cooking Thai food from a recipe, they have a REAL THAI CHEF!!! My favourites are the Holy Basil Chicken [Pad Gaprao Gai Kai Dao], which comes with a delightful fried egg atop the rice...just the way it's served in Thailand...and I lived in Thailand teaching English for a year recently. My next favourite is Khao Soy...and if you've been to Northern Thailand, where this dish originates...you'll know it's the real thing...it's brilliant. Plus, they have a reasonably priced lunch menu... ...all in all, as good as Thai food gets in Toronto...love it, and go back just for my two favourites: Pad Gaprao Gai Kai Dao and Khao Soy. This was my first visit to Thai House. Having spent over a month in SE Asia last year I have shifted my expectations up a notch for Thai cuisine. The flavour here and the ingredients were authentic. The green curry was great with plenty of lemongrass mixed in. It had also the right blend of spice - hot but not overpowering the flavours. $7.50 for lunch incl. soup, roll and main...... umm $7.50!? come on you can't even get bacon and eggs in the Beach for that price! Opens at 1230 so sleep in, don't worry about line ups and enjoy a great Thai meal. read more

I have no idea why the Thai House gets such high reviews!!!! I ordered delivery based on the reviews here and can't disagree more. We ordered spring rolls, green papaya salad, green curry, chicken with cashew nuts, and mango with sticky rice. I have been to SE Asia, so I must disagree with the other reviewer who compares food found there. The Green curry and papaya salad was not flavourful AT ALL, the cashew chicken was way too saucy and tasted . . . off. Very disappointed and will not order again. I can say that ordering online was convenient and they were very nice and polite. The delivery drive was also very nice. But I think it must have been busy as our food arrived cold.
