The khao soi is just so good that you should probably get it. The curry mixed w the crunch crispy noodles is just the best. The noodles are also really solid. There were plenty of veggies and meat and spice and basil. Your mouth becomes happy just eating it. Came here with some colleagues for a team lunch. The place was packed at noon on a Wednesday, so I recommend you make a reservation! I order Khao Soi with beef brisket, mild spice level. As expected, the curry was decadent and clinged on well to the noodles. The crunchy noodles gave the dish a nice contrast. The beef brisket was flavourful, but not quite tender. I couldn't finish the dish, so I bought the leftovers home. I was worried that the noodles would be overly soggy but it held up well. Sukho Thai was once my go to restaurant in the area, but for various reasons, I haven't been there for a few years until recently. Unfortunately, my recent visit to the Wellington location wasn't like how it used to be. Maybe it was because I went an hour before closing, but the chicken nuggets seemed a tad bit undercooked, despite its great crispy exterior, and the pad thai was too high in acidity, and tasted off. The Limeade though was quite refreshing. Nonetheless, the staff here were all friendly, and inviting. The restaurant itself has a nice vibe, making it a great place for casual gatherings. I usually go to Pai Northern but Pai didn't make reservations and we were tight on time so we picked Sukho Thai which you can make reservations. Ambiance: Modern and traditional Thai decor. Warm and inviting. Service: Amazing service! Our food came hot and fast! Food: Very flavourful, we ordered pad kee mao with shrimp And beef. It should have the thicker noodles usually but this time around they used the pad Thai noodles. Very good and spicy! We also got the garlic chicken nugget as an appetizer it was crispy and juicy with the sweet dipping sauce. I took one star off for the change in noodle and also there's not as much selections as their sister restaurants but the pros are excellent food and you can make reservations. I heard great things about this place, so I was very excited to visit here on a Tuesday evening with my boyfriend. We arrived for dinner around 6:30 p.m. and it was already packed! The vibe was fun and lively, and I enjoyed looking at the decorations all around. We were greeted by a young friendly waitress and she seated us in the middle area of the restaurant. She brought us water and gave us a few minutes, so that we could look at the menu (accessible via QR Code on the table). When she came back, we ordered Crispy Spring Rolls (appetizer), ChefNuit's Padthai with chicken (my main dish), Lemongrass Fish (my boyfriend's main dish), and Thai Iced Teas (drinks). While waiting, we revisited the menu and talked about what we will eat if we come back next time (there were lots of tasty-looking items!) A few minutes after, our Thai Iced Teas arrived- and we imagined ourselves in Thailand as we sipped and enjoyed the vibe of the place. We were excited when our main dishes arrived (we were very hungry!). My Pad Thai was delicious- the mix of vegetables, the chicken pieces, and the thick noodles was well-balanced, and it was the right amount of saltiness. My boyfriend said his dish was also delicious- the fish was fried to a deep golden colour and it was crispy without being oily. He also liked that the portion was very generous! Throughout the evening, our waitress came by to check-in on us and refill water. We had a great time and we talked about returning for another visit to try other items. I came by to the Downtown location with a friend on a Friday evening and the restaurant was bustling but still had a few vacant seats. Note there are stairs right when you walk in and not sure if there is another more accessible entrance. I ordered the Cashew Chicken entree expecting more of a curry based dish but was served a more saucy type of chicken. This was just my misinterpretation of the dish, so no fault to the clarity of the menu. The chicken was served with a side of white rice. It was tasty but it was lacking more cashews for more textural contrast. Halfway through I wished there was some sort of acidity to cut through the richness of it all. There was a LOT of chicken, so definitely very filling. Service was pretty standard; nothing extraordinary. I'd say it's a great thai spot downtown that isn't super packed like Pai or Khao San Road. read more

The food is pretty good, would definitely recommend any of the curries or soups because the flavour is fantastic! The other items are a bit lackluster in comparison. The soup base is amazing and flavourful. I got the mild and thought it would be great for people who may not have very good spice tolerance but want a little kick. You can ask for some of the spicy oil on the side though! The crunchy noodle is great for the texture, but there is this strange aftertaste that I can't quite put my finger on. It may be the type of oil they used to fry it, but it tastes...burnt or vaguely like plastic? But it's not actually burnt. The fish was HUGE, surprisingly large compared to what we imagined. It was nice and crispy, but felt like it should be accompanied by some other sauce or a small curry because it felt like it was missing something. The fish also did have a semblance of the strange aftertaste on the crunchy noodles, which I think is indeed from the oil used. The crunchy springs rolls are fantastic and flavourful, while the fresh rolls are a tad bit on the plain side. I like the inclusion of mango to the fresh rolls though! However, I think there's like 1 shrimp in the roll, which you may not taste depending on what half you eat. The Thai milk tea was a bit disappointing to me. Don't get me wrong, it's delicious and very creamy sweet, but I wanted a bit more of that tea flavour. The tea didn't feel very prominent, which could be a good thing for those who don't like the bitterness. However, I love super strong and bitter tea paired with sweetness and cream. Made reservations for a large group. The restaurant let us know that 10 is the max that they can book for. We had a total of 14 people and was told that it's not guaranteed that we will get seatings. They also indicated that we need at least 6 people to show up by 6:30 or we will lose our spot. The server was quite strict about this. All our party came on time fortunately and the staff had to pull a few tables together. This restaurant is quite small so we had to be seated in a long rectangle arrangement. There's also special cocktails that were half price and todays special is the Bangkok sunset. It's a mango cocktail and was so good. I noticed it tasted kind of like orange juice too but it wasn't listed. If you don't drink often, there's barely any alcohol taste to it. So I would recommend trying this. For my main I ordered the khao soi with beef. I love the crispy noodle! The beef is also tender! I got the curry in a medium spice level. For me personally I think it was a tad bit spicy for my taste. I would recommend getting mild and getting the spicy sauce on the side. I couldn't finish this and took the rest as takeout! One of my favourite thai places ! I travel 45mins just to have the best Thai food in town. Fried rice with spicy thai is my favourite, along with Khao Soi sauce on top. I usually stick to my usual options because they always mail it every time. Khao Soi is my second favourite. The creamy sauce along with those noodles are just delicious. FOOD | I've been meaning to try this thai place for the longest time! We came for dinner and drinks. A major selling point is the $6 cocktail of the day. They cycle through the list of cocktails for the day of the week. On the Friday, it was the Bangkok Sunset! I really enjoyed this drink, the blend of cocktail ingredients helped the drink's alcohol taste to not be too strong. The Purple Rain was alright, but I personally am not a big fan of gin. We got the garlic tofu nuggets ($11) as a starter -- they were crispy and paired well with the sauce. I got the tofu khao soi ($17.50), and the presentation was so pretty! It was a bit hard to navigate the dish just because it was so full and the noodles were pretty far down in the dish, past the tofu and crispy noodles. I found the dish to be a bit salty, but overall still really tasty! SERVICE | The food came out pretty fast! Nothing super remarkable about the service, but it was fast and reliable. AMBIANCE | We were pretty surprised that it wasn't super busy inside, since we came at peak time. There is a nice patio that overlooks the the dog park! Came here with a reservation on a Saturday at 5:30 as I was expecting it to be super busy, but to my surprise it was pretty tame (probably because it was a bit early). Originally we asked to sit on the patio but because it was windy we switched to dining inside. I'm still getting adjusted to being back out from social isolation but I felt safe and comfortable dining here. Upon entering they had sanitizers and staff were wearing masks. They also have every other table blocked off so no one can dine within close proximity of you. They are also using disposable menus, cutlery and dishes, which of course doesn't look as nice but it's a cushion of added comfort. I was also impressed to see staff spraying and wiping off seats after guests left. I ordered the Khao Soi with chicken (mild) and a Thai iced tea. I was first pretty impressed with the potion of the Khao Soi as I seemed to have gotten a decent amount of protein and noodles. The Thai iced tea was good but a bit on more of the milky side than how I like it to be. Overall the food tasted good and was of a decent size. Service seemed to be laid back where they don't really check on you unless you indicate you need something, but since the restaurant was pretty empty at the time, it wasn't an issue to get their attention. read more

First Thai restaurant we went since landing Toronto in July. Sometimes the less you expected the more you gained! Entrance is a bit hard to find given ongoing construction blocking the entrance. The quantity felt a little less and that's why knocked off ac star. Granted it's 50% off but the quantity shouldn't be reduced. It beats the promise of the 50%. The day was glum, cold and rainy , and I was in desperate need of a pick me up. Something warm, soothing and most importantly, would lift my mood. I didn't even notice Sukho Thai at first on my continuous walks on Front street. Whilst the exterior seems to hold something quiet and not so fun, the interior is definitely the opposite. You're welcomed into a little corner of Thailand in Toronto with bright and colourful decor, leafy embellishments and staff that are the friendliest you'll meet. We were lucky to get seats as this place was constantly busy . Equipped with a bar at the front, there is something for everyone. The menu has a ton of options from soups to noodles to stir fries however I opted for the sliced beef stir-fry and my husband got the Khao soi. ( Also a great date night restaurant!) The food was faultless. Honestly. And incredibly delicious. I found myself constantly going for more despite being full to the brim - did I mention the portions were HUGE! We left with a good amount for the next day, and it tasted as amazing as when we first had it. There was Happy Hour going on until 6:30pm, so the Blue Hawaiian was only $6, which most of us got. The drink was actually pretty large and it tasted pretty nice. Definitely a sweeter alcoholic beverage. For my entrée I ordered Pad Thai (Tofu) Spicy. The Pad Thai was pretty good, definitely not too soft and enough to take home. It wasn't that spicy though even when I got the spicy level. Maybe next time I would try Thai Spicy. It seemed a bit busy at this location so the waitress forgot to give us our bills, but other than that, the service was good. They asked us how our meal was intermittently.
