This little Thai gem has delicious food and excellent service. Everything I have ordered has been very good. They have a nice variety of lunch specials that are very affordable. You never have a long wait to get your food, which comes to you freshly made to order. The green curry, salmon plate and spring rolls are all great. I deliver for DoorDash and I stopped here last night...for starters the order took 1/2 hour to be finished and there were other delivery people there as well. Once everyone but myself got their orders, I noticed a older woman in the back cooking who wiped her nose a few times and didn't washer her hands and wasn't wearing a mask while cooking, along with another cook who had his nose uncovered while cooking...plus they weren't wearing gloves while handling the food. I searched all the menus in the area for a Thai restaurant that actually served some authentic dishes and had sticky rice. Yes, real Thai sticky rice not the steamed Jasmine rice. There is a difference. This one had it ... woo hoo! We've been Thailand and fell in love with the Thai Beef Salad and the Papaya salad which you eat with your hand (no utensils) by picking up with the Thai Sticky Rice. Since I've been to Thailand, I'm not a fan of the Americanized Thai food. We have eaten it native hot in Thailand but my husband prefers medium spicy so we ordered both salads medium spicy and 2 sides of sticky rice. Both salads were VERY delicious, done correct, spiced correct ... YUM! The waitress immediately knew we had been to Thailand based on what we ordered. Their salads rated a 5 Star and were authentic Thai. The service was great and our waitress understood and spoke English clearly. I'm not sure what the other reviewer on here is talking about. Besides if the staff is native Thai rather than American, I know that I am most likely going to get good, native Thai food and not Americanized food! Have you ever been to a sushi bar where the sushi chefs were not Japanese? ... I have, terrible sushi. Yeah you get my point. My other review pet peeve: Nothing is more irritating to me than reading reviews of Thai restaurants and people are complaining they don't serve orange chicken, or complaining about the sweet and sour sauce or wontons. HELLO , these are not Thai dishes! They are Americanized Chinese dishes. Its like going to a Japanese restaurant and asking for a hamburger and expecting it to be the best burger you've ever eaten. I'm pretty sure its offensive to go to a Thai restaurant and ask for orange chicken and I'm disappointed when I see a Thai restaurant cave into the American requests for Americanized Chinese food. As I was in the mood for some Thai and did not want to go all the way to the valley to our go to place, we were driving up Tapo St and saw two places and we remembered one of our friends like the other Thai place on this street but remembered he said it was kind of pricey so we came to the Simi Thai House with high hopes. We were immediately greeted by Air (not sure how to spell her name) and were seated. Looking at the menu, I started drooling at all the wonderful optjons. My eyes gravitated to the Thai House Pumpkin, I sad "that's for me," as everyone that knows me...anything pumpkin. My wife got the chicken Pad Thai. we also got the sticky rice. EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD!!!! The next time we go (which is going to be really soon) I am going to get the Pumkin curry or the jugle curry. Either way, the point is we ARE will be going back again and again. We have had lots of Thai food and I can honestly say Simi Thai House is the best place we have gone to. Air is so attentive and friendly. When she offered a refill on the Thai tea, that shocked me as every place that we've been to they do not offer refills. The total price of the ticket (without tip) was under $30.00. Very good prices for very god food. They do delivery, which is going to be dangerous for us because we will be doing that a lot. Normally, I really love this place. Their fried calamari, basil chicken, drunken noodle, curry and other dishes we have had were all great but tonight, it was severely off for whatever reason. Made the order at 8pm. Maybe it is because they are closing in a hour, no idea. My bag that was delivered had spilled thai ice tea all over it. The fish cake, pork rice noodle soup bowl had an odd off-meat smell and the worst was the pad thai, which reminded me of thai ice tea flavor but more sour and void of any type of peanuts or umami. It all reminded me of left overs. The noodles were all very stuck/glued together. The soup did not look or resemble the yelp picture either. The only star of the meal were the normal egg rolls...which, after spending $30, I'm really dissappointed. In summary, the other dishes I listed are awesome and would really recommend those but would not recommend the pad thai and the pork, shrimp and fishball noodle soup. Decided to order through Grubhub and pickup. I was notified my order would be ready between 6-6:10pm. I arrived a little before and waited about 7-10 min before someone asked me why I was there. This was barely Thai food. Pad Thai is not supposed to be NEON orange, there was tamarind paste or any hint of it, no sweet radish bits. It was mushy on the verge of soupy, just like the picture. There was nothing traditional about it at all. Not to mention it was super sweet! The Gai Kua looked a little more promising until I felt my blood pressure rise from the saltiness. After that I was done...chalk it up to lesson learned and move on. This "Thai food" definitely does not seem like this is from an actual Thai Cook, and if it was a Thai cook then they I would suggest finding a new one. The reason I needed to write a review about this place is because I've had Thai food all over the place, and I've never in my life had green curry with chicken taste so incredibly flavorless. There's seriously no flavor to it . The green curry is light in color and I'm confused by how flavorless it is. I also ordered the spicy yellow tofu curry and an appetizer of steamed dumplings. The dumpling dipping sauce tasted like watered down molasses. It was extremely sweet. The dumplings themselves tasted like they came out of the a packege in the freezer. Their filling was bland. Besides having a full menu with a large variety of yummy Thai dishes their soups are excellent, their noodle dishes, salads are tasty treats, and the grill is really out of this world! Try it! NEVER AGAIN! This place has ruined me for Thai food : ( We ordered this the other night. We spent 40.00 on delivery and got 2 orders of chicken Pad Thai and pot stickers. The pot stickers were greasy and not very good. The Pad Thai was mushy and overly sweet and just was not good. I ate about half of mine and my wife had a couple of bites and we threw it away. A few hours later both of our stomachs were making noises and then the wrath came!!! All night long we were having major issues.
