My best friend and I were a little apprehensive about this place at first because it was empty when we walked in, but then again, we did come in on a rainy weeknight. I'm so glad we gave this place a chance because the food was delicious! The host--who also served as our waiter--was very polite and the service was pretty prompt considering the food came out fresh and hot. I appreciated that it was all nicely plated, too! Here's the rundown on what we ordered:
Thai Iced Tea (no pearls/boba): big glass, a lot of ice but it wasn't watered down, which is a plus. Perfect amount of sweetness and milk :)
Chicken Satae: At first I wanted to order the Beef cuz at most places I find the chicken a little too tough or dry, but decided not to say anything 'cause my best friend was treating me out (haha). Anyway, when it came out it looked extremely appetizing served on its little rectangular plate w/ some peanut sauce on the side & some cucumber & shredded carrots swimming in vinegar (yummy!). I wanted to try it w/o the sauce at first and it was actually pretty good! It was lightly-but perfectly-seasoned w/ who-knows-what (I don't cook, I just eat). I ate the rest of my share w/ the peanut sauce which was not too sweet or greasy & globby. Though each piece is smaller than some other Thai places I've gone to, the six pcs. we got was just the right amount for two people. We gobbled everything up, including the cucumber & carrots.
Pineapple Fried Rice: One of my all-time fave Thai dishes, and this place did not disappoint. The rice was piled and plated like a mini-pyramid w/ the top flattened like a plateau. I was a little skeptical about the raisins at first but decided not to knock it before I try it. The raisins actually complemented the rest of the ingredients (shrimp, pineapple) pretty well! I must order this again soon!!!
Pad Thai: The staple order from a Thai restaurant. I LOVED theirs. Crushed peanuts, shrimp, red cabbage, all mixed in with the fluffiest semi-thin but perfectly cooked Pad Thai noodles ever. Extremely on point! NOM NOM NOM...my mouth is watering just writing this!
BBQ Pork: This was cut into bite-sized strips and served along w/ a very good slightly spicy sweet 'n' sour sauce that you dipped it into. Although there was a little bone here & there to watch out for, it was very light, super-tender, and moist. *drool* I seriously want to go there again. For lunch today, perhaps? Maybe.
The only reason I didn't give this place five stars is because they're a little pricier (maybe 50 cents to a couple dollars depending on the item) than some of the other Thai places I've been to, plus they're portions are just a hint smaller (which is almost okay, especially for someone who didn't wanna get super fully bloated that night). The better cuisine at a slightly higher price was definitely worth it! read more
