    Sex on the Beach
    Jen H.

Food was delicious, service was minimal, and ambiance was very casual. We ordered the sex on the beach roll (delicious!) and the baked scallops (flavor was good but the scallops were chewy and overcooked). The pumpkin curry was yummy. We ordered it mild and it still had a nice kick. We ordered the special pad Thai that was inside an egg- it was just ok. Noodles were thin and aside from it being inside an egg, there was really nothing special about it. Star of the show was the roti ice cream dessert that had condensed milk and chocolate sauce which made it really sweet but the blandness of the green tea ice cream balanced it well.

Came here for dinner on a Friday night. There was plenty of parking. We were seated right away despite having a big party. I ordered the Pad See U with chicken and it was very good and tasty. Hamachi kama was also very tasty and not dry. Definitely a place to try. They also have sushi selections. My family ordered some and they were not disappointed.

Dinner for 2, Fri night 6:30 pm Service was friendly. Food was good but just a little pricey in my opinion. We only had 3 dishes- but finished it all. Chicken Fried Rice, Peanut Bomb Chicken, and Papaya Salad and 1 hot green tea. $58 It was quiet and the decor is clean. Tip: in the evening I wouldn't sit by the window because if cars park then their headlights shine right thru at you.

I made an advance reservation for a party of 14 for Saturday. There was a variety of choices from Sushi to Thai food order was taken and the food came really slow. Sushi orders were coming one at a time and the food orders took a very long time there was only one person cooking we were the only patrons at the restaurant. I asked about a birthday dessert and the lady that was serving had no idea what I was asking. Our bill was $500 food was good service can be better. I try to patronize local places but this one needs to bit more accommodating!

    Salmon Tower

The menu is mixed with cooked food and sushi, plenty of options for everyone. Salmon Tower is fresh and a great way to start any meal. The Pad Thai is probably the best we've ever had. The hot sake is a warm, soothing complement to the meal. The ambiance is cozy and the service is sweet. If you get a chance check out the art on the walls has a bit of humor. Will be back

    Spicy Miso Ramen

I discovered this place three years ago and come any time I'm craving Ramen. I've been to many places in the area, but this is hands down the best Miso Ramen around. Consistent flavor over the years. Love it here!

To go feast! This was an amazing meal!

Had an amazing sushi meal to-go here recently! I actually ordered my food through Yelp, and it was ready for pick up reasonably quickly. On to the food! We ordered a main dish for each of us, and some sushi rolls on the side to share. I had the salmon poké bowl, which was very tasty! The rest of my group had either the beef teriyaki bowl or the shrimp tempura bowl. I was told they were both good, with the shrimp tempura bowl being the better of the two. As far as rolls, we ordered spicy tuna, salmon, caterpillar, and Alaska rolls. They were all good, but the specialty rolls were delicious! Lastly, we also split piece of yellowtail, which was super yummy. The yellowtail came with rice, which was nice. I don't think I've seen yellowtail come with rice before at other places. Overall, this was an excellent meal! It was a tad on the pricey side, but it was all super great quality!

We wanted to try a new sushi bar for lunch without having to go too far out of town. The Loft Thai & Sushi Bar just happened to fall on our radar. The restaurant in itself was very clean & empty. We came during the middle of the day in the middle of the week when everyone should be at work... except us. Upon entering, the place was super smokey inside to a point where my throat became a little soar. I'm guessing it was from the cook intensely grilling up his lunch. We asked the host if he could open the door to air out the place, but he just cranked up the AC instead. After awhile, the air eventually cleared. Food wise, everything was fine. They had a pretty attractive menu consisting of Thai & sushi, thus their name. But today we settled for sushi. Although a bit pricey, even without drinks, everything was prepared fresh with a a beautiful presentation.. The short comings of an engaged staff is the missing 5th star in this review. However, not a deal breaker. May not be our #1 goto spot to cure our sushi craving, but we will keep it as an option.

    Firecracker Roll & Mango Tango
    Gardenia N.

Amazing Service! Everything was fresh and delicious. Definitely coming back! I got a few rolls: Firecracker, mango tango, and the salmon sunset. Salmon sunset was my favorite. The wonton soup and gyoza 10/10. Papaya salad was so refreshing. For drinks I got the mango iced tea and a Thai tea both 10/10. For desert the mango sticky rice, so sweet and fresh. I'll be back soon!

Food wasn't bad at all. They have Thai food and sushi rolls. This is decent food if you have a craving and are in the area. I personally wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. Interior has a modern concept but furniture and facilities felt old and worn. Ambiance is lacking. This restaurant is inside the Vallejo Hiddenbrooke community. We ate pad Thai, and multiple rolls. It was a decent experience. To make a trip out of it, there's a convenience store in the same plaza that has so many random things, like tubs of Mitchell's Ice Cream, as well as locally made cookies, and Humphrey Slocome ice cream. And various other things you'd find at a convenience store. So after sushi, you can buy dessert!

Hi, why I can't change(add/remove) ingredients in rolls ? Change type of fish or add extra fish on top?

Because in sea food things like that are extremely complicated taking out or adding a ingredient would make it impossible because of the way it is made.

How is there outdoor seating like?

Very nice they have a nice overhand with well spaced out tables and chars

Over…read morethe years, though, so many K-bbq restaurants have opened up that unfortunately Gen kind of slipped off my radar. But this week, something came over me, and I decided to give it another shot. Lunch was about $22 per person as of June 2026. I remember going to the Concord location years ago and feeling like the portions were pretty small, even though you could order it as many times as you wanted. This time around though, our experience was completely different. Every order came out piled high like a mountain of meat. Everything was fresh, the marinades were on point. On top of that, our server was so friendly and attentive. Honestly, if I could give this place six or seven stars out of five, I would!!! Honey Soy Beef Belly: Absolutely amazing. The beef was sliced thin with the perfect ratio of meat to fat. The sweet and savory marinade complemented the richness of the beef belly oh so perfectly. I also loved the generous amount of green onions they sprinkled on top, which made this dish even more inviting. I'd order this again in a heartbeat. Beef Belly: This is basically the unseasoned version of the Honey Soy Beef Belly, so the quality of the meat was just as good. The nice thing is that you can customize each bite with the seasonings at the table, whether it's Green Tea Salt, Sesame Oil, or Sweet Soy Sauce. Simple but delicious. Bulgogi: Bulgogi has never been my favorite since I usually prefer savory over sweet, but this was still very good. The beef was tender, the marinade was flavorful, and everything was well balanced. That said, I'd still pick the Beef Belly dishes over this one. Chadol: This beef brisket used to be my go to order at Gen. Somewhere along the way, though, they switched to a leaner cut of meat. So now it wasn't quite as tender as I remembered. Still though, the meat was fresh and tasty. Honestly, it really comes down to your personal preference and whether you enjoy a leaner cut or a fattier cut. Pork Belly: Thick slices of unseasoned Pork Belly that you grill yourself and cut into smaller pieces then dip in Sesame Oil and Salt? Yes please! These were incredibly satisfying. Once cooked, the pork was even still tender and juicy. Easily my favorite pork option. Spicy Marinated Squid This dish had that classic Korean spicy sauce that balances sweet, savory, and spicy flavors super duper well. The squid stayed tender after grilling, it was amazing. I'd definitely order this again. Hotteok: A Korean style pancake filled with Brown Sugar and Peanuts. It's definitely a heavier dessert after a bbq meal than what I usually prefer, but it was still really good. The outside was pleasantly chewy (mochi like texture), while the filling was warm, sweet, and gooey. Kimchi Fried Rice: Don't sleep on this one because their Kimchi Fried Rice was fantastic. It had the perfect balance of tang and savory flavors, and it paired well with all the bbq meats. Super yummy.

When we walked in, the restaurant didn't look busy at all. There were quite a few empty tables, but we were told there would be a 5-minute wait. The host wasn't very welcoming and simply said, "5 minutes, wait over there." It wasn't rude enough to ruin the experience, but it definitely wasn't the warm first impression you'd hope for. The wait ended up being closer to 10 minutes, which was confusing since there were still several empty tables. It also didn't appear that they were short-staffed. We saw about five employees walking around the dining room, and while I'm not sure if they were all servers, there seemed to be plenty of staff on the floor. Unfortunately, the service throughout our meal was just very slow. We had to keep flagging down our server--or any available server--whenever we needed something. Our server herself was friendly, which honestly makes this review a little harder to write because she was pleasant whenever we interacted with her. However, the overall lack of urgency from the staff and the less-than-friendly greeting from the host affected our experience. On the positive side, the food was great and came out quickly, so I have no complaints there. But dining out isn't just about the food--it's also about the service and overall experience.
