We ordered from Thai Kitchen (via DoorDash) while staying in Asheville last weekend and were very impressed! We ordered the Panang Curry with Chicken, Drunken Noodles, Sweet Sticky Mango Rice, Bangkok Fresh Rolls, and the Chicken Horapa to share. All of these dishes were so fresh, flavorful, and delicious! The Panang Curry is a go-to for my husband and I, and it was perfectly spicy and didn't disappoint. We got it with chicken. We were going to order the Pad Thai but the Drunken Noodles got better reviews so went with them and they were amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed the sweet sticky mango rice, so delicious and not too sweet! Lastly, the Fresh Rolls; these were so fresh & the sauce served with them was amazing. My dad got the Horapa and enjoyed it, but I didn't try it. I highly recommend this spot and would surely order again when back in Asheville! read more

I am surprised when the place isn't packed. The Thai is delicious and authentic. So tasty - my Drunken Noodles with chicken was the perfect spice level (I requested spicy) and filled with tender, delicious chicken. My husband had the Cashew Chicken (mild) and enjoyed every bite. We always have to get the Fresh Rolls - best in town - with the chili spice. Yummmmm The service is fantastic, the food comes out fast and fresh and it's clean and the decor, while not fancy, makes you feel at home. read more

Yikes. I came here for lunch today per a friend's recommendation. Sadly I won't be coming back I felt so rushed from the moment we arrived. From be ushered to quickly sit and order. It was confusing because we were the only ones in the restaurant. We ordered our food and it came within 60 seconds. I got the pad Thai with shrimp and my friend got a cashew chicken ginger dish. She was so unhappy she almost sent it back but instead went to ask for some soy sauce instead to add some flavor. My noodles were really weird and old. Which explains why the food came out so fast. I'm not sure what they were doing back there but it didn't seem like cooking. Also no lovely was the use of the restaurant for storage. No consistency. I ate here on Friday and had the Tom kha and chicken larb salad and it was so delicious. Then we took friends for dinner on Monday, I ordered the exact same thing as I did 3 days prior and the flavors were different. Not necessarily bad but not nearly as tasty as Friday. One of my friends dish never came out. Once we able to tell the owner/server he apologized and said he would check. It came out as we were all finished with our meals so we decided to pack it up. We decided to heat it up later that evening at home and it was awful. It was a pork pad see ew which is normally a huge favorite. There were hardly any veggies in it and it was pretty flavorless. I tried reaching out to the restaurant to give input but the main thing that bothered me is that you charged us for the pad see ew after it never came out and had to be packed up. read more

Meh. I won't go back. Asheville isn't a destination for Asian food. This place isn't any different; below-average Thai food. The pad Thai I ordered was overcooked and dry. Yellow Curry was bland and flavorless. The duck was like jerky, but better than the other dishes. There are better Thai places. read more

First time here, happy to find a Thai restaurant open on Monday for dinner. Easy parking, delicious food, great service. Lots of folks came in to pick up to-go orders while we were there. I had spring rolls and Thai salad with peanut sauce, then Green curry with tofu. I loved everything. read more

Don't The staff is lovely but not enough to justify eating there. We got take out for the whole family and got several dishes of each kind. There wasn't much way to tell the dishes apart. They all looked and tasted the same. And that same wasn't very flavorful. There's a lot of other and better options read more

Great Thai food for a food price and served quickly. We tree to eat lunch here once a week. Can get seated, fed, and pay bill usually under 30 minutes. Green curry, Singapore noodles with tofu, and Thai Basil at dinner are our favorites. read more

I'm a long time customer, and I've yet to have a dish that isn't great to excellent. This Thai restaurant is an unassuming, but great local Thai restaurant that always seems to create better dishes than the other Thai restaurants in town. They are consistently faster at bringing lunch and dinner to our table faster than any restaurant I've ever eaten at as well. I can't recommend highly enough! read more

Hot food came in plastic containers ! big no no. Lunch prices decent. Food is good. I eat vegan so I ordered thai curry and drunken noodles. I love thai curry. The flavor of the drunken noodles is great but very low amount of veggies. I Ordered some food here because I had an audition and didn't have time to cook. My partner picked it up.. he came home with it wrapped in two plastic bags (I try to keep a bag free home, plastic is killing our planet and is heart breaking) and I open the bag to see all the VERY hot food in plastic containers (there containers are NOT BPA free. BPA is a toxic chemical that leaks into our food and water and has been linked to health dis-eases.) it is a VERY big deal for me and I care about my health and planet and this was so disappointing, I had a hard time relaxing before my video audition because I couldn't believe food would be delivered this way. I don't normally order out, one of the reasons being the disposable items. They also had put in about 3 plastic utensil bags. :( I sound dramatic, but if they are doing this with every person, I dont imagine people reusing these containers, I can only hope and pray it isn't thrown in the trash to pollute our already burdened mother earth. read more

The last time that I went to this Thai spot before today was at least 6 years ago and I remember loving their food. Today we decided to order takeout from Thai Kitchen after strong suggestions from our close friends. I ordered the Pad Thai and my husband the Drunken Noodles. After so much hype from our friends we had high expectations and were very disappointed. My Pad Thai was the worst I've ever had. It was dry with a weird dried ketchup flavor. It was a very weird consistency and the tofu was burnt. It immediately made my stomach unsettled. My husband's Drunken Noodles were extremely mediocre and also dry. I appreciate fast food but getting an entire meal which should be made to order in 15 minutes is not a great sign. Honestly the only reason I'm giving them 2 stars instead of one is because my friends love them dearly and order there every week. I'll probably never be back but if I did, I'd go for a curry. read more

My husband and I got takeout, Lad Na and Red Curry. We were excited to see LadNa on a menu, since it's not as typical as the standard pad see ew, pad Thai or drunken noodle. Pros: very fresh food, large portions Cons: both of our dishes had very small portions of chicken. I would guess my curry had 1 oz of chicken, maybe and just a ton of veggies to fill out the dish. That was very disappointing. Also the sauces were on the bland side. Not bad, but not memorable. Think we will continue our search for a staple Thai takeout spot elsewhere. Probably would've done a 2.5. read more

Not authentic Thai. No hint of fish sauce or proper authentic spices. It was at best a "teriyaki" style sauce. Too sweet but I think people generally like sugar in these parts. Presentation was meh. A huge plate for a mound of rice. Unnecessary, however ingredients are fresh. Wouldn't call it Thai food. They should really try to stick to authentic recipes, it would only take a few slight adjustments. Staff is super nice. Indoors smells like a grease pit and it's too dark. A little more effort would go a long way. read more

I love Thai food. I decided to try a duck entree with basil. I didn't like it. Not inedible but the duck was bland & the "sauce " I had anticipated was just juice from veggies- some fresh, some frozen, none appetizing. The owner?/my waiter was ok to let me try something else. I went for chicken Pad Thai. It was fair. I prefer mine with more fresh vegetables than this was served with but it was ok. I'm used to flavorful, spicy Thai cuisine. This was not that. Outdoor seating is nice but Merrimon was so busy at dinner time that I was unable to have a phone conversation before eating. read more

Good but no spicy enough good sauce they have no bubble tea so its 4 stars and i need them to have bubble tea and they dont also they need to add more to the menu also i love there music inside i love there waiters they are calm and i need to say thank you they have consitent waiters always refilling drinks every second they need madi fudi on the menu and they need more deserts the people that work here know what they are doing with the food and its very traditional read more

Great place for Thai. I went for lunch for some work friends. We arrived with 5 people but there were no 5 tops. The one server seemed busy and told us to wait and he would put a table together. He quickly put the tables together and sat us. The menu is standard Thai fare with all the classic curry dishes and noodle ones too. I ordered the Pad See Ew and the Fresh Roll app. The fresh rolls were very large and cut into 4 pieces. These normally come with Shrimp inside but these did not. They did they lots of flavor and the peanut dipping sauce was amazing. The Pad See Ew was cooked perfectly and the chicken was thinly sliced and tender. I would differently come here again and order this again too. read more

We had the most wonderful Thai lunch today! Tom Kha soup, a tangy creamy delight with mushrooms and pork.... Yum! $4.50 , We shared a Pad Thai excellent! $7.99 , and started with a fresh spring roll $4.49 and two iced teas $1.50 each! Highly recommend your trying this restaurant... we plan on this as a go to Thai spot! read more

Absolutely love it! I am a repeat customer at this delicious spot. Don't be fooled by the facade. This restaurant is wonderful. The food is full of flavor and the staff has always treated me great. My first night here the owner welcomed me with conversation and made me feel at home. I am always welcomed with smiles and treated like a truly honored guest. Note to the locals: Come for the flavorful food and not a yuppy craft beer selection. They carry only two or three local beers and several from the Far East...as a place like this should. If you're looking to go out and pretend you're some sort of beer snob, this isn't for you. read more

Really disappointed in this place. I've eaten in house and it was good. Got takeout Pad Thai and it was unrecognizable. It was super dry, noodles were all broken up and it was super spicy, and tasted nothing like Pad Thai. It looks like a mess up order that they tried to reheat and sell to me. I couldn't even eat it and I'm not that picky. Don't get take out here. Gross. read more

The food was terrible. We delivered via DoorDash, and we were so surprised that the food was prepared in 10 minutes. When the food arrived, it smelled burned and the noodles were super spicy, even asking specifically for spice level 2. The fried rice was very spicy and tasteless. Tasty, but nothing incredibly special, and a little pricey, especially with so much great competition in the area. Having tried most of the Thai places in Asheville, we've been wanting to check this one out for a while, and I left satisfied, but not wowed by any stretch. We went on a Saturday night, and surprisingly found it relatively quiet. The service was great, definitely no problems there. Quick and very friendly. The menu struck me as a little expensive, even though they had a nice special going on. I went with one of my standbys that I'm used to being able to get for $11, but cost me $14 here. As I said, the food was tasty enough, but not enough of it for the price. My wife said she was unimpressed with the rice, but I enjoyed it well enough. All told, $39 between the two of us, and that's with no drinks except a Thai Iced Tea. If you're craving some Thai food and you find yourself on Merrimon, it's fine enough, but if you're willing to make the drive, I prefer Tamarind Thai on Airport Rd. read more

We were wanting some Thai food on a Monday and our go-to place(Siam Thai) is closed on that day. So, we decided to try out Thai Kitchen. Was very excited to see that they offered sushi on the menu we found online and all of their lunch prices were so reasonable! Turns after calling that they actually don't have sushi...pretty weird but oh well. I ordered the chicken Pad Thai off of the lunch menu. Was impressed that it was only $8. I then realized when I picked up my food why. It basically had half of the ingredients pictured from the description and photo AND it was only about 10 BITES. Seriously. It was basically the Sam's Club sample of Pad Thai. It was NOT even $8 worth of food. Won't be going back. Spend a couple more dollars and go to Siam Thai. You'll get 3x the amount of food and it's all fresh and delicious. read more

I personally really really love their pad thai with the peanut sauce, and i love that they have ginger tea with real grated ginger instead of just a tea bag. I think their food is pretty delicious. the only thing that i would love is if they upgraded their tables and chairs to something more comfortable. i think if they invested in a little bit nicer furniture it would benefit the overall dining experience - but that being said I kind of like that it is quaint and humble also. Sometimes its nice to just connect with good friends and enjoy good food instead of all the glitz and glam. read more

We ordered for take out: pineapple fried rice with chicken and pineapple fried rice with shrimp. There was tons of rice and little of everything else. The rice was incredibly dry. No sauce. Both dishes were essentially tasteless. The chicken dish had almost no chicken and very little pineapple. What a disappointment. We both love Thai food, but Thai Kitchen knows nothing about how to make Thai food. read more

My partner and I went to get takeout here for lunch. At first I opened the container and thought that there wasn't enough food... I was so wrong! I got drunken noodles and my partner got curry. However, part of what makes a higher price point worthwhile is receiving excellent service as part of the overall experience, and unfortunately that just wasn't the case here.

There are so many great places in AVL but this one is a place that has been here for 25+ years and on a Tuesday night was full. MAKE RESERVATIONS. Don't trust that they will have space at a hightop in the bar. Have the experience.

This was more of an educational experience, all about wines from France. We learned a lot about the regions of France and how the differing regions effect the grapes. The grapes in warmer regions will be sweeter due to the sugar content. Also, our group was lucky enough to be able to sample about 10 different wines! French music playing in the background, wonderful hors d'oeuvres for nibbling, and a great group of people attending. Such a fun evening!
