i'm a resident of grand terrace and have recomended this place for friends and family for more than 2 decades. The new ownership and staff do not know how to treat customers! A Thai restaurant that says they do not have Thai chilies !!! The server was so rude he said "if you don't like the food we will throw it"! we were a party of 6 and I should have walked out my wife wanted me to stay calm as we were residence of this great city. We visited Thai Kitchen while in town recently. It seems popular with the locals - I was impressed with the number of people coming in for take-out orders while we were eating in. We ordered what we normally do when evaluating a Thai place we haven't been to before: a Hot Pot of Tom Kha Tofu (coconut milk soup with tofu chunks), a large serving of steamed rice, and a dish of Pad See Ew or Drunken Noodles depending on what they have. The first thing we noticed was the unusually small portion of steamed rice that came with the "large" serving. It was served in the usual large plastic container, but the container was only about half full. The lady in charge explained that they use a small soup bowl as a measure, and one bowl full is a small order while two bowls full is a large. She said something like "We're not like Chinese," even though one of the other THAI establishments we go to regularly fills the rice container all the way full for the same $4. The Tom Kha soup (hot pot = $10.99) was flavorful but watery; my wife said they probably skimped on the coconut milk. The Pad See Ew ($9.99) was okay, just okay. We have had better. The tofu in both the soup and the dish was lacking in flavor and texture. Service was acceptable; the lady was busy with take-out orders most of the time we were there but still came out to the table at least once to see how we were doing. All in all, it was a standard strip mall Thai place - minimally decorated, little atmosphere, average food, nothing to set it apart from many places we have been to before. Three stars. read more

So we were on our way back to LA and wanted To stop by and eat at a thai restuarant and saw this place had some nice reviews and figured we will try this place out . A nice waiter welcomed us place was pretty full which was a good sign and smelled like authentic thai food, our first appetizer was lumpia dish which was fantastic, it's a egg roll filled with beef . Moving to the main course the waiter recommended the Dinner Special which offers a soup , eggroll and an entree for only 24$ , We ordered - Spicy Fried Rice Pad thai Drunken noodle Pad se ew All of them were delicious real Thailand flavors, Appetizers arrives in 4 minutes and the Entrees arrived 5 minutes after , SUPER quick . Oh my goodness. You would never know Grand Terrace had such a great Thai place to eat here! The service was nice, the food (pad Thai, pad see ew) was yummy, but my absolute favorite was the Mango Sticky Rice. So far this is my all time favorite place for Mango Sticky Rice. They add just the right amount of salt to it to bring out the flavors. Other places that I've had it does not even come close. They tasted cheap. But this was done perfectly. Also, the fried banana with ice cream was good and different in the sense that they add coconut shavings I believe to their batter, giving it an extra nice crunch and flavor. Go to Thai Spoon 2. Beware, this place absolutely does not warrant more than 1 star, and I don't understand maybe these were older reviews?? You will be angry for how much you spend, and what you receive. Thai Spoon 2 is so delicious and reasonably priced. I regret not sticking with it. Just go there instead. You're welcome! This place is utter disappointment. I paid so much money (like $50) for super stingy portions that left us hungry ( we literally ate somewhere else after eating their food). You can see my picture of my $50+ of food. The drunken noodles were hidden under cabbage...there was more cabbage than anything. There was 2 little spoonfuls of rice in the tray with it all dry and gross...how dare you. The next entree I am not even sure what it is because they didn't give me the one I ordered...the containers are actually smaller than they appear in my pic, and they give you half a container of rice to take away from your entree. The mango sticky rice...seriously...I paid $8 for less than a palm of this stuff...it wasn't bad...from the smidgen I got. At least a decent amount of mango. The house wings were the best thing here. I waited forever for a wrong order that I paid way too much for and this place is pretty much a rip-off. To the business owner- I really appreciate your response as a business owner. It is how I expect a professional business owner should respond. Although my experience was less than I expected, I will give your establishment another try after reading your response. I tried Thai Kitchen for the first time this week. I like that you have the option to order online but I did order over the phone. They said it would be about 15 mins when I called but it took even less time to have it done. I went twice this week. I ordered the drunken noodles lunch special and the chicken pad Thai lunch special. The special is awesome it comes with an egg roll and a soup. Both are so good! The drunken noodles were amazing. I'm a veggie lover and they had a delicious flavor. I also loved that they include nuts with the Pad Thai I've had other places forget that before. The Pad Thai had so much flavor as well. I'd recommend both those plates. Their customer service is amazing as well! I'm definitely going to start coming regularly. I recommended it to coworkers too. What an amazing find! read more

Best freakin crab rangoons I've ever had....EVER!! Huge pieces of imitation crab meat in fried crispy pillows of cream cheese...I mean, insane. My boyfriend had what he said was the best pad thai he's ever had. I had the tofu green curry (spicy) I asked for chili paste on the side and didn't need it. Everything was delicious and the service was impressive! At one point the cook brought out the wrong appetizer and the waitress came over immediately and said, you ordered the crab wontons...this is the wrong thing. The cook came out and apologized (which was completely unnecessary, but just shows you how above and beyond this place goes.) I called in to order some takeout from here around 6:45PM on a Friday night. We got a spicy pad kee mao with tofu, panang curry with chicken, and phad pri gang with beef. It took about twenty minutes, and when I arrived, it was ready. Due to covid, they're not doing any dine-in at all. The food was around $43 post-tax, which was pretty pricey although there was a decent amount of food. All the flavors were strong, spicy, and pretty great, but the beef was overcooked and the noodles were overcooked too, not chewy at all. My friends were also saying that medium spicy for the curry and phad pri gang was too spicy even though that's the spice level they usually get and it's usually alright. Good amount of food with good flavors, but the overcooking isn't great. read more

From what I can tell, the entire staff here is Thai from the host, to my server, and even the cooks I could over hear talking in the kitchen, all speaking Thai. Great start! The menu was pretty deep and our server was very patient and helpful. Not on the menu, they have half orders of some of the appetizers for half the price. Great option if you like variety like I do! I ended up eating from the dinner specials menu. Its $12 and comes with your main course, plus soup and an egg roll. We tried the green curry and pad see ew. Both dishes met my expectations. Their wonton soup hits the spot on those cold days. Tofu Delight is a delicious appetizer and their Yellow Curry is great. They do offer 10% for those who pay cash by the way.
