I ordered the vegetable balls and the seafood drunken noodles which came with shrimp, mussels, and calamari. Everything was delicious! I've never had the vegetable balls before and I loved them, especially with the sauce they came with. They had the same texture as a cake donut and a taste similar to them as well! The drunken noodles were perfect. They had the right amount of everything and tasted amazing. This is the best Thai food I've had here in Omaha. I've been telling everybody I know about this place! Our first trip to this thai restaurant as we've been to somewhere between 12 and maybe 18 different places in Omaha. We found the service outstanding and the ambiance pleasing. We both had tofu pad thai level 4 and spice level 5. This is our standard "test" for each place we initially try for a basis review. Well the food was great, plated beautifully and tasted wonderful. As a topic I make my own hot sauces and have a solid tolerance level for spicy food. Level 5 was perfect for me a 4 for my wife. Eyes and nose watering, lips becoming numb and flavor enhanced. Drunken noodles were missing flavor. Ordered Spring Rolls but was served Crispy Rolls. When I questioned the rolls, I was told to eat them they are good. Not so! Worst tasting Thai food I've ever had, bland and spongy. Try any other Thai restaurant, you'll be better off. They advertise a cash discount, however, you will not receive any discount if paying with cash apart from them not charging you the 3.75% hidden upcharge for use of credit and debit. Small and cramped, tables and chairs are cheap, Thai decorations look thrown together. This is a bare minimum restaurant, that likely only stays running based on its overpriced food and location close to the hospital. read more

Was a bit tricky to find. We came from the south of the building and Apple Maps noted it was in the middle of the buildings. Glad once we finally located it. We asked to dine in and they had no issue; staff overall was friendly, prompt and welcoming. We shared fried spring rolls (5), satay chicken (3), and pad Thai -spice level 8/10 (4). I wandered into Thai kitchen on a drizzly Tuesday for a to-go lunch order. Based on the photos and the glowing reviews I was excited to try it as Thai food is one of my favorites! The restaurant itself is cute clean and inviting, and the staff was warm and ultra friendly. Certainly a fine place to sit down and have a meal. I ordered a lunch size beef pad Thai (+$1 for beef) and lunch size tofu pad see ew, as well as a cup of tom yum gai soup. My total for the order was ~$25. Each lunch order comes with one of those slightly sweet thai fried donuts and an egg roll with chili dipping sauce. The donut and the egg roll were amazing, freshly fried and ultra crispy. The noodles in both dishes however was where the order fell a bit flat for me. The noodles were dry and not 'saucey' enough for my liking, and they were a little clumpy. The accompanying veggies and protein was fine but the noodles were a miss. I would not hesitate to return but I probably wouldn't re-order a noodle dish. This place is a solid OK! I know some people who swear by this being the best Thai restaurant, to which I say, "Have you had Salween?". I ate at Thai Kitchen a long while ago (maybe 5 years...) and wasn't entirely impressed so I had kept my distance for awhile. It was recently on a Sunday evening that my husband and I were looking to eat at a Thai place nearby and Sea Thai was closed so we decided to give Thai Kitchen another shot. I vaguely remember the Pad Thai I ordered 5 years away wasn't mind blowing so I pivoted and went for the Pad Siew this time around. While quick and beautiful in presentation, it fell a bit flat on the flavor. A bit on the bland side, lacking seasoning, and I didn't love that the carrots were shredded and not cooked in the dish. They were laid off to the side as a garnish, whereas Salween incorporates the veggie into the sautéing process. Overall, I think we will happily stick with Salween Thai. I don't even know why we venture out when we're happily found our favorite spot. read more

Thai Kitchen is on our regular rotation for takeout. We really enjoy the Drunken Noodles and Pad See Ew. Always a good quality meal from here. For some context on their "spice levels", their range is 1-10. 5 is a decent spice level to start by at if you like heat. They are only currently open for takeout, but if you stop in, make sure to thank the family who runs the restaurant. I've been to Thai kitchen many times since writing my last review and have enjoyed most of my entrees. It's a solid 4 star restaurant, and there aren't many Thai places in the area. Their best dishes are red curry with chicken, pad Thai, pad see ew, and basil fried rice. As far as appetizers go, their chicken satay is a bit dry but they have great summer rolls and vegetable balls. (Not that he's a trustworthy restaurant judge, but we were still pleased he was on board.) We then shared drunken noodle with chicken, and red curry beef. We ordered spice levels of 5/10 for the noodles and 6/10 for the curry beef. Both were on the hot side for those numbers, which was a little too hot for Trish but worked for me. I've had this place on my 'to try' list for quite a while now, considering the location I could never quite make it work... until today. Ironically I was buying supplements at Max Muscle and ended up here for a lunch carry-out. I had good intentions, wanting to order the 'salmon vegetable' lunch special, but turns out ordering over the phone wasn't the best way to bridge the language barrier and I finally just ordered chicken pad thai, the same as my coworker's order. Also, somehow we ended up with an extra order of veggie balls (to supplement the one + egg roll that comes with the meal at lunchtime). My husband and I went here on a Saturday for a late lunch, mostly because Thai Kitchen was open and my favorite Thai restaurant closed at the time (Thai Kitchen open all day on Saturday, rather than closing between lunch and dinner). The restaurant itself is long and narrow and has some interesting decorations. The menu has a long list of rules you must follow (all of them are basic manners, but it made me chuckle to see them listed out on the menu). Our server was quiet and didn't say a whole lot, but was friendly and prompt. We started out with an order of the spring rolls (they come in servings of 3 or 5), which was probably unnecessary since we learned all the meals are served with a spring roll, but we managed to finish most of them anyway. They were very good! Crispy on the outside and full of flavor. They also came out very quickly (probably only 5-7 minutes) and piping hot. For my meal I went with the Pad Thai. You can choose your spiciness level from 1-10. Since it was a new place, I went with a 4, and thought the heat level was reasonable for that level (I would probably do a 5 or 6 on the next visit). Our meals were also served quickly (around 10 minutes). The portions are a good size for lunch, but not crazy huge like many restaurants serve. I thought the portion was very reasonable for the price (and it was nice not feeling pressured to finish everything or take some to-go). The Pad Thai was good, although not the best I've had. This is a solid Thai restaurant, and I would come here again if my favorite Thai place is closed again in the future. read more
