    Date night with sissy

Had dinner with my sister and this was our restaurant of choice and they didn't disappoint. We had crab fried rice and mini egg rolls. The wait was long but well worth the wait.

In a market full of food options, Thai Kun is definitely a go-to spot when the Thai cravings hit. I stopped by not expecting much--and I was honestly stunned by how good the chicken wings were. I'm a big chicken wing person, and these were packed with flavor, especially with the tamarind sauce--sweet, tangy, and addictive. The beef panang curry was also solid--rich, comforting, and flavorful. The only thing that didn't really stand out was the fried rice--not bad, just a bit standard compared to everything else. Overall, if you're in the area and want something bold and satisfying, the wings and curry are definitely worth a stop.

Pad Thai with shrimp and Wontons

We took our friend from Brazil to check out The Post HTX . I perused all the food choices and as always Yelp came through with other Yelpers and their foodie pictures. Presentation and quality was everything! Our friend had never had Thai food before so this was a win for all of us. My husband and I were so impressed with how good it was! I have to say that this was the best Thai food I've had in HTX! Yes, better than Thai Spice, Nara Thai, Bangkok Social etc. We don't like the sweet, too saucy Pad Thai so the Pad Thai we had was amazingly perfect. I was expecting mall food court quality but not at all! I got the shrimp Pad Thai and it had jumbo shrimp and a slight shrimp paste flavor to it, which I've never tasted anywhere else. Maybe that's what made it a 10/10! All I know was that the noodles were not overcooked or soggy from the sauce. It was the perfect balance of taste and quality. The shrimps were huge and sautéed just enough where they weren't overcooked. I liked that they put the peanuts and chili flakes on the side too. We also ordered the pork egg rolls and fried wontons. The appetizers were good but not something we'd consider ordering again. I got the combo that included wontons and a drink. The protein were only 2 choices either shrimp or chicken. I was satisfied with the size and amount of the shrimp! We will definitely be back! I just wished there was one near our home!

This place was amazing...located inside Post Market...Thai Kun caught my eye...the menu was simple...and the display items looked very tempting...I ended up ordering some crab fried rice...and some wings...the young lady took my phone number and they texted me when my meal was ready...the food was so fresh and delicious...after eating everything I went upstairs and enjoyed the view...this place had a nice vibe and I'm sure I'll be back real soon

Let's start with service, where is it? Yes I get it is a food hall that doesnt preclude one from providing a service in which one would like to return. The front associate taking our orders appeared to be on the phone both with her ear pod. But she wasn't pleasant or helpful. She definitely gave I don't want to be here.. I ordered the crab fried rice. Um no thank you. It wasn't seasoned very well and too much egg vs actual crab ratio. It came with a side of soy sauce and some pepper sauce that didn't do much. I probably would not visit this place again if I am in the post.

Pad See Ew Chicken and Chive Cakes

Thai Kun is inside POST. I wanted some comfort food without dairy. The chives cakes were amazing. The pad see ew was a bit more oily than I would had liked. I would like more vegetables and the noodles were more broken up into pieces rather than long noodles. But this might be personal preference. It did have a more meaty to noodle ratio. Once you order, you give them your number for a text to pick up your food. After you are done, you throw away your trash and put the tray on the closest shelf tower, usually by a trash can. You do have to pay for parking. Right now, it's electronic so the cameras record your car license in and out and that how it determines how long you stayed there for payment.

    Undercooked chicken

Found myself at the Post yesterday and was overwhelmed with all the choices in the food court. Walked by this establishment and looked at their signature dishes they had on display. The TK chicken looked delicious and I decided to give it a shot. Now the first thing that threw me off is the dish is priced at $13, but my order somehow was priced at $19. I later realized that this was due to getting it with fried rice rather than jasmine rice. My gripe with this is that the dish is displayed on their counter with fried rice, and unless I completely missed it on their menu, there is no mention of an up charge for fried rice. But if the food was delicious, I would have been fine. However, my chicken came out undercooked. Pics attached to show just how pink it was left. I bit into a piece and knew something was off. Ended up eating the rice and tossed all of the chicken. Again, I was even willing to let this go...... until I got home and my stomach was in knots from what I can only assume was the undercooked chicken. Made for a miserable night. Lesson learned, just a fair warning to others.

    Pad See Ew Chicken

I am a huge fan of Thai food and was super excited to try the pad see ewe while at POST. Unfortunately, the taste wasn't as good as I had hoped. It was supposed to come with broccoli, but they forgot to add that on there. They were having some issues with their stove and were fixing it when we went so it was about a 30 minute wait, which is understandable. I personally wouldn't eat at this place again and would prefer to try some of the other restaurants there.

Solid four! Food: the food was quite good at least my dish. I had the panang beef and it was very spicy and different. It was more like beef tips if anything. Extremely spicy with lots of flavor. I do wish I would have asked for the egg well done. The pad Thai was alright. The shrimp didn't taste fresh and they also didn't peel the shrimp. For the prices they are charging they definitely need to peel the shrimp. I would try the pad this again with chicken or beef. Not shrimp. The prices are high. The portions are medium to small and don't reflect the price. Maybe the are paying high rent at the post. I would definitely go back and try more food off their menu. We we're definitely satisfied with our meal. Great date night with my baby.

Wasn't much open when I visited the Post during the holidays so I tried this spot out. SMH Crab Fried Rice wasn't crabbin and the Tamarind Chili Wings weren't winggin.

    Pad see ew with chicken

Browsing around POST and was kinda feeling some Thai food. Kinda expensive for what you get. There was a lot of chicken but not a lot of noodles. Too many green vegetables. This pad see ew was not spicy at all. It was mostly sweet. I do like the sweet chili sauce that they give you. It took so long for the food to come out!! Overall not really impressed. Not authentic. (I didn't see any Asians working).

Authentic taste Thai food in Houston downtown - that's how Will always remember this place. Located inside POST Houston, this is one of those only places that I have tried. But I got to say, even with their limited menu options, they are really making an impact. The small menu helps them keep the speed of preparation. And did I mention they make everything to order? Yes, they prep ahead of time but they start caking your food once you order and pay.

    The scallion pancake
    Deborah N.

Thai-fail!! Came to POST Houston on a Friday night and for some reason none of the restaurants could handle the after 5PM rush! Contemplated, like others, what I wanted to eat for dinner that night and someone who worked at POST suggested the tamarind chili wings, so I go there to order...the staff are not Asian. There's a Latin girl at the register, and all Latin workers in the back, and they blurted out something about a menu change "just now," they said?! I look confused but just shrugged my shoulders. I came to pick up my food, and noticed that my scallion pancake that I ordered was not on the tray. I go back and ask for it and the girl at the register explains to me they just changed the menu. They still had one of those clear plastic stands with some "specials" and when I was at the register paying for it, the girl didn't mention anything about it no longer being available due to the menu change. She took my money and decided not to be up front about what was readily available that evening on the menu. So then they brought out the first scallion pancake and IMO it was undercooked and doughy...almost a mochi-like texture. Intended? I'm not sure. The second time I asked my hubs to go back and have them remake it and it was better, but extra greasy...overall wasn't happy about the lack of organization and communication from the staff about the days menu and availability...the tamarind chili wings had a lot of fat in them, and was soggy and not crispy at all... The wontons with pork were not tasty at all either. Overall, the food was mediocre.

Baby the pad see ew here is THE BEST I've had in Houston. The wings do live up to the hype. I wish the portions were just a little heavier.

We went with the brisket egg rolls, which were fresh and hot when we got them. Sauce was a good balance with them and I really liked this item. The cowboy katsu had great flavor, but needed more sauce since our bowl quickly turned into just bland white rice that got left behind. An extra side of bbq, or more toppings overall would've helped a lot for me.

While I was standing there debating on ordering, the employee behind the counter was eating. I figured he'd stop once an order was placed. As I went to order kiosk, I saw him look up toward the front, then put his hand in his mouth to remove food while still in the kitchen/service area. That completely turned me off from ordering so I left. I didn't dare risk if he'd wash his hands because why would you do that to begin with. I understand people working long shifts need to eat, but in an open kitchen environment, presentation and sanitation matter. Unfortunately, that interaction alone was enough for me not to continue with my order.
