Holy cow! This place is incredible! Definitely do not judge a book by its cover on this one! The outside might not look like a typical Thai restaurant but inside transports you to another place. It's pretty and so relaxing. The service is wonderful. When the food came, I was impressed. The care they put into creating a beautiful dish is only outdone by how delicious the food was. I ordered the Panang curry; my husband, the ramen; and my son, the crab fried rice. The curry was creamy, a touch spicy and full of goodies. The ramen broth was so flavorful and it included all you would expect and a little more. The crab fried rice had a generous amount of crab and the rice was moist and fluffy. Then we ordered desserts. I ordered the coconut cake! Best I've ever had! It's my favorite type of cake so I'm truly biased. And this was absolutely amazing. My husband ordered the coconut ice cream with fried banana coins. The ice cream was the perfect flavor of coconut and the bananas were so crispy. My son ordered the Thai donuts. I was skeptical but when they came, they were light, perfect little puffs and whatever the dipping sauce was provided the perfect amount of sweetness. We are foodies and are tough critics, I dare say hard to please. The food was exceptional, we came back twice in 3 days. I highly recommend the crispy spinach salad. Fresh, delicate and flavorful. We had the ginger entree with shrimp- and cashew nut chicken delicious. My 12 year old started with a wonton soup both visits and said it was the best she ever had. Owners take pride in their food, and it shows. We took a coconut cake to go because we were to full, the owner recommended it. This place is a gem, don't miss it. Few and far between! read more

A bit of a hole in the wall - but don't let the outside fool you... the food is DELICIOUS!! The waitress recommended the sampler platter as an appetizer and I am so glad we listened, it was great. Everything was crisp and hot. We both ordered sodas that were served from a 2-liter bottle which was a little odd - but it was fresh. For dinner I opted for the Massaman Curry with chicken - it could have been a tad spicier but better to err on the side of caution on a first visit. It was very close to the one I get back home, so I loved it - even took leftovers back to the hotel for "2nd Dinner". My wife got the chicken Pad Thai. She enjoyed it - but not as much as I did mine. All in all - if we're ever back in town, this will be a stop I look forward to! read more

quiet, nice and relaxing with the sound of the running fountain, Thai Lanna 2 is a hidden gem in New Port Richey. It's location is unassuming, but if you go inside you'll be pleasantly surprised. We started our dinner with fresh spring rolls. While very good, their peanut sauce was different than I'm used to, still good, but different. The food itself was Very fresh and delicious. My husband had the Hot Shrimp Soup, he gets it Thai Hot. He was hiccuping and sweating, so I think they do that right. For me, I don't want any heat if I can help it and they got that right too. The noodle dishes were tasty but pretty standard. The red curry was probably my favorite, but it did have a bit more of a kick than usual - something I enjoyed but may not be for everyone. Had been looking for a Thai place to order from in the area and the place we wanted to order from was closed for the night so we settled on Thai Lanna. We ordered through door dash since we had a gift card and got the Vegetable Pad Thai and the Spicy noodles. I did not order any spice level on the pad Thai and I should have because it had no spice to it at all. It was very good and I would order again but would ask for spicy. My other half ordered the spicy noodles extra spicy and she loved them. The portions were pretty decent but we thought 16.95 for noodles and vegetables was a bit on the expensive side and nothing else comes with it. To start out we got seated second after walking in and serviced almost immediately. The ambient was super nice, the music, the aesthetic , noice level, cleanliness all 10/10. Our food came out fairly quickly, including boba and Thai tea. The flavor of the food was to die for; the food had the right amount of sweet and savor that's you expect from Thai. So this place just opened up. Seeing as it is a brand new place, I do what any good Yelper would do: go try it out and review it of course! After trying the restaurant, I think it is a pretty A-OK place to go. Decor-wise, this place took an old rundown building and really transformed it. I love the wood panel walls and the various Thai inspired artwork. The fountain in the middle of the restaurant, while it looked kinda odd initially, does give the dining room a unique feel. As for the dishes themselves, they were alright. Portion sizes were actually fairly big and the food tasted pretty good, just not to the degree of blowing me away. The green papaya salad was solid. Really had a good kick with the spice of the chili peppers that were used. The fish sauce added a nice backdrop of complexity and the papaya was nice and crunchy. While the shrimp was cooked well, 2 shrimp in a bowl of salad was a tad bit sad....even 1 additional shrimp would have made the dish look more complete. The Thai Lanna Chicken was ok but not exactly special. When the menu description says deep fried chicken, I'm expecting more like chunks of golden brown crispy chicken. It was a bit disappointing that they were chicken strips with a light batter coating that became a soggy from the heaping amount of Thai Sweet Chili sauce. While the sauce was ok, the rest of the dish was so so. The vegetables were just your standard steamed mixed vegetables. Overall, I think this place does have some potential. While I always hope and wish for a restaurant to succeed, for the price they charge, I think the level and execution of the food definitely has room to improve. read more

I enjoyed the atmosphere and presentation. My waitress was Fai a very capable young lady overwhelmed by take out calls and multiple tables but multitasking with considerable grace and poise. Each course I ordered arrived in the appropriate sequence, hot, eye appealing, and delicious. The restaurant was immaculately clean and as I witnessed sanitized between the turnover of customers by Fai. Pronounced like "May" but with " F" sound to start. The restroom was clean and comfortable. Being a long time diner in restaurants all over the country I have learned you can tell a lot from the restroom condition. Another plus is that Thai Lanna2 appears to take effort at being environmentally friendly. Paper straws and the dining napkin is made of bamboo sheets . You can always judge a Thai place by their pad thai, and I've never seen so much tamarind in pad thai before. Vivid red pad thai is not appealing. This was also the first Thai restaurant I've ever been to that didn't request how spicy you wanted your dish. We were served other tables dishes three times, none of the food came out at the same time, party of five, so people are waiting for others, bill wasn't split like asked, menu price didn't match the bill and although I requested a salad to be brought out at the same time as the dinners, it was not. Finally, I've never seen such a small portion of calamari and one that was so bland. This isn't Thai food, it's noodles and sauce. Take your business elsewhere. read more

My husband and I constantly go to Thai Lanna 2...we love the ramen bowl and fried rice with duck. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with art and an elaborate fountain with koi fish inside. The ramen itself is so hearty and filling, and the portion is plentiful. The service is wonderful! The first time we went, we ordered in person for take out. While waiting we had a very nice conversation with the person who assisted us with ordering.
