Chicken Lemon Creme with Jasmine Rice

So tasty! I had the Chicken Lemon Creme with added mushrooms and I put it on my jasmine rice that was in shape of heart and it had breaded chicken. I absolutely loved it. Friendly service and she even changed the jazz music that I didn't prefer to some Thai music that I requested and that was wonderful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Comfortable chair.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In the past, I had mango sticky rice and massaman curry that were the best I ever had and my husband had basil fried rice with chicken that he loved. Did not care for the mango juice, it tasted like an aluminum can so hopefully they get a different kind, like Kearns or something even better. We had a wonderful anniversary dinner, and there was a rose at our table. The server was very attentive and pleasant.

Pad Kee Mao $9.50 and Penang Squid Curry $12

Thai Lemon has some good things going on like the signature basil spice chile and curry the country is renowned, many menu offerings considering the limited seats, an awesome $6 whisky selection--Templeton, Gentleman Jack, Johnnie Walker Red & Black label, +more and ditto for the Gin, Tequila and Vodka menu, $6 standard cocktails -lemon drop, sidecar, greyhound, $5 for 2 dozen drafts + another 20 bottles, and a counter + shelves full of wine by the glass--tells you something about pleasing the Willamette neighborhood, lol!! BUT to pleasure the masses that require sustenance to absorb the alcoholic indulgences, TL needs to be a little more generous with the inexpensive noodles and rice to satisfy the consistent complaints of small portions, and I have to agree. Perhaps it's a global warming initiative so there are no take-out containers for in-house diners as you can easily lick your plate if moderately hungry, but then shave another $2 off the prices ;) $12 Squid Penang was not overly fiery ordered Hot, with slurpable curry broth as the cute but minimal heart shaped rice quickly vanished as did the 5 pieces of squid, haha. The squid was fresh, cooked white (no flash sear) so a bit chewy but still enjoyable, with skinny asian beans and peppers that were snap crisp. $9.50 Beef Pad Khee Mao was very good and one of the few preps not overly sweet, so hubby could finally share. Bit more generous on the beef, but again sparse noodles that were just a tad over but still yummy, and we cleared the plates. A pFriem IPA with Templeton Rye back $11 for both made the perfect side ;) Inside is very dark, shades pulled to shield the wall of wine. It's like walking into a cellar, down a few steps into the restaurant and the beautiful sunshine we've been waiting for all this snowy Feb & March was all but a sliver of light through the front door which is also sheltered by a porch overhang. Kept my coat on too. There were 2 TVs, one in the dining area showing Thai cooking, and one in the bar that was off. Unsure if the bar is used as such as it was full with 20+ re-corked bottles of wine. I would return for simple drinks, and the food as a side for my own Thai Happy Hour since there is not one here, but not going to visit a $12 Manhattan unless I am in an actual cocktail bar.

Chicken pad kee mao, amazing, fresh, perfect

Id say this is a solid 4.5 stars, easily one of the best Thai places for noodles (pad kee mao, pad thai) and i have tried many, dozens, here in portland alone. This might have them all beat, no lie. The curry was good, but not great, and the spice was not where i wanted it when i asked for one 'extra extra hot' i did add my own so thats fine. Pad Thai, a staple, but not always my crown jewel. Here i found myself going back til it was gone, and thays amazing. Its so sweet and flavorful, perfect noodles, and the tamarind sauce is on POINT. Pad Kee Mao, my baby, my first love, my very own was de throwned here by the pad thai. As i said above, it was amazing. Pad kee mao was cooled perfect, great oil, great spice, crisp veggies. Panang Curry, was good, very fresh, very strong, but nothing too 'wow' this is its half star dock. That said you cant half star so i rounded up, since pad thai kicked butt!! Will come here again Pro Tip : Look for them on groupon to get you to have a reason to try it!!

Shrimp Panang Curry

Well, we gave it a try and overall OK. Service was slow, and not much on the friendly service side. No one checked on us after we were served. My wife enjoyed her lemon grass chicken. It looked good, and wish I tried it. I did like the way they served the rice in a heart shape. I ordered the shrimp Panang curry. They got the heat perfect for me. The curry was tasty. However I was disappointed at the portion of five shrimps hiding in the curry. Will we go back, maybe but there are so many other Thai restaurants to explore.

I'll keep this review of my local Thai place short and sweet. My favorite items on the menu: ** Pumpkin Curry ** Avocado Curry ** Crab Meat Fried Rice I always order the pumpkin curry, but the other two items are specialties of this restaurant and ordered on occasion when I want to branch out from my typical order. The interior space has evolved over time. I actually preferred the older decor which had a bit of a jungle bungalow feel. Now it is more like a bottle shop with large coolers and shelves lining most of the walls. But, honestly, almost all of my orders are to-go, so I rarely dine in. They do offer a few discounts through the local circular and their new app, but they aren't amazing deals ($5 off your first $50 order). It is odd for a local restaurant (as opposed to a national chain) to have an app.

Food and service was excellent. Perfect portions for the amount charged. Wish we lived closer, we'd come back for sure.

A place to taste a variety of PNW, Californian, French and international wines - paired with local artisan foods (I'll get to that later). Covid was a challenger in their intended first opening - but here they are Fall of 2025. Lucky is (locals)! Today I enjoyed a white wine flight, with wines from the Oregon columbia valley, Washington gorge, California Russian River and New Zealand. It's fun to break out - and taste the world! Then I saw they had one of my favorites - Le Ecole Chenin Blanc...so I had to order a chilled glass of that! Unfortunately I came with a full stomach - so didn't order any food. All local artisan sourced...ravioli, Draper family chicken, cheese and crab...but what I'm really looking forward to at my next visit is their (local) Pudding River cheese fondue! With sausage, baguette and apples if you like! Yes please and thank you. I also learned that great cheese pairing, art & wine events are scheduled. So sign up and make your fall and winter rich with great wine, food, new experiences and really great people!

We sat at the bar and the bartender, Ethan was so pleasant and knowledgeable. He made me an absolutely perfect Sidecar which a lot of bartenders don't know how to make. Then he suggested the blood orange salad with beef tips which was so good, I became enraptured. The world stopped. I was seriously having a mindful eating moment savoring every bite like my mouth was saying, "Wake up! This is how food is SUPPOSED to taste!" Who needs sex when you've got those beef tips? OMG. Afterward my partner and I were basking in the afterglow, " Those were so good." "Yeah they were so good, I'll be thinking about them for the next 3 days." Haha. I need a cigarette.

I had the hand cut pasta special and it tasted fresh and not too heavy. The banana foster dessert was soooo good! Wine was super yummy, I had their version of a sangria and it hit the spot! Not too loud on a Sunday evening. Definitely recommend to try out!
