Service was great. The crew there very very nice and funny. Our server gave us an excellent recommendation for wine, something bubbly that I do not remember. My only issue with everything was the lack of food. They only had bread and olive oil to eat that night, their kitchen was out that night of everything else. My first visit was so wonderful! Staff is incredibly nice, attentive, and welcoming. My friends ordered the smash burgers, each of which were served with 3 different chips and they said it was all so good. This was an adorable place we stumbled upon on our way to check out downtown LO. My husband assumed they only sold wine, but I decided to pop in and check them out. To my surprise, they had a charming seating area in the front that kept with the theme's name, as they had a couch adorned with lip pillows. We only wanted light snacks so this place fit the bill. We had the seasonal toast, and mushroom dip. We liked both, but found the potato chips that the dipped was served with were not the best option, as they broke off in the dip. We mentioned that to our server, and she said it was a new item so they were trying to figure things out. We suggested crackers would have been for fitting, not to mention the potato chips cheapened the dip, that would have otherwise made for an elegant, sophisticated dip. We wanted a place to sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine in town so we landed on this. They have quite a selection inside the store for purchase and the outside area is really nice. The wine selection (for a wine bar) was limited. The choices they had were all really dry, a little more so than we like. If you actually like sweet wines this is not for you. The only issue we had really was paying because she asked if we wanted to split it and didn't charge each of us for our actual purchases, but just split it down the middle. People that aren't sharing don't want it split down the middle, they expect it to be split according to what each person had. So that was a little snag that we sorted out afterwards. Can't say I'd return here because it wasn't great wine, but if you like dry wines you might enjoy it. Or if you're nearby I can see it being a good place to buy bottles. read more

They happened to be out of a couple things when we were there for lunch so the chef came out to talk to us about other things she could prepare... the tuna toast was amazing. The salad with beets and whipped feta was insane. Then the pork chops with polenta blew my mind! I've never had a better pork dish in my life... which is saying a lot. I think the chef is brilliant. Last Monday, while my friend was at pilates, he asked me to get a sandwich from this little cafe around the corner. We had stopped by there a few days before, but the owner was by herself, overwhelmed, and so busy that she even suggested we get sandwiches at another place nearby, so we decided we'd come another day. Well, on Monday I showed up by myself, and first I asked if this one particular section of their menu was all sandwiches, to which the cashier said the last three were, but they didn't have the last two, and the one I asked about, she said it was open face, so I ordered it (crab toast). That was $22, plus $4 for a small Peregrino. I gave her a $40, she gave me back 10. I said, how much was the Peregrino? $4. Ok, you only gave me 10 back, I gave you 40. She said, yeah, sandwich 22, drink 4, 30. I said no, that's 26. Got the $4 back and I said I'd wait outside; she notified the owner/chef, who responded by saying she first had to finish a cheese platter. I go and sit outdoors to wait while I drink my water, and play with my phone. About 20 min passed and I went back inside to get another drink for my friend, since I knew food should be out soon. I wasn't in a rush and was patiently waiting; I've worked in the food industry and understand a busy kitchen. I paid for the second drink and told the cashier I'd put it back in the fridge while the food came out, which she said was ok. I then sat inside on a sofa near the register, to wait; it was very hot outside. I waited another 20 min, easy, and I saw both ladies (cashier and owner) leave the kitchen and saying hi to people outside, etc. I hadn't realized it, but I was the only person left inside, waiting for my food to come out. The cashier comes back in, sees me and says, oh, you got your food, right??!?! I said no, I'm still waiting, it's been ready????? And she says, let me go ask... Comes back after asking the owner who was outside, and the plate was just there, behind the counter. Says, oh here, sorry about that, and hands me the plate, just like that. I say, uhm do you have any utensils? A bag maybe? She goes looking for utensils, and I say, maybe just napkins, and she comes back with a normal, metal fork wrapped in napkins. ‍ I say, oh, no, I'm not gonna take your nice fork. I guess we can eat with our hands, we'll be eating in the car, anyway, I say I'm gonna get the other drink now, and she looked totally confused. The other drink I bought... Oh yeah, go ahead! ‍ In total, I waited about 45 min for this plate, which had probably been behind the counter for maybe 20 min or more. No one should have to wait that long for cold, chewy toast, much less being that it's the third most expensive item on their menu, and there was nothing exceptional about it. The place is cute, clean, and has lots of potential, but service is truly lacking. We are always supporting local, but they've just lost two customers. read more

Discovered this place just a block from downtown Lake Oswego, and it is incredibly charming. I felt like we stepped into a restaurant tucked away in the French countryside. The servers were knowledgeable about the wine, and provided the appropriate amount of education to make decisions. The beet salad with whipped feta and ricotta was a perfect starter and very light. The dinnerware were all different, eclectic china. It was a noticeable touch. The crispy polenta with zucchini was incredible. The whole Branzino was light and flaky. If only they would have filleted it table-side but we got it down eventually. The service is paced to allow for long conversations just as it would be in Europe. If you'd like quick paced service, I'd request that from the start. But it was perfect for our liking. We at first headed to a wine bar in downtown Lake O, that only had 1 table full when we arrived at 5pm, but they wouldn't seat us as they said they were booked for the night.
