The menu has something for everyone. Sushi was good, rolls are good really good actually), and there is a good variety. Kid those don't appeal, noodle dishes and other options are there, and they were tasty as well. We had a good sized party, with varying tastes, and everyone enjoyed their meal. I have come to Thai Nigiri for years, so I can say they are consistently delicious. Their Thai food is fantastic, but their sushi really is my favorite thing on the menu. I love to come during their lunch time to really get the most bang for my buck with the lunch specials! They also have boba tea, which I believe is seasonally offered but that could have changed. I've only had one of the boba flavors but it was delicious and the boba tapioca pearls had great texture. Their service is also always attentive and efficient. The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant is great- a special shoutout to the tin cups that's are unique and adored by many I've brought here for meals! Service amazing, the waiter had our food out in no time. The crab rangoon was super fresh, light and crispy, the sauce complimented it well. The mango sticky rice left me with a content feeling. We really wanted to try secret Thai cafe but they were closed. This one has medium ratings and we were craving Thai so we gave it a shot! When we arrived it was busy with customers so we thought that was a good sign. The staff was very nice, very attentive. The food on the other hand wasn't impressive. My husband had pannang chicken curry, it was on the brothy side lacking flavor, he even poured soy sauce in there (he has never done this with curry) to try to get some flavor. I had the shrimp Phad Thai, it was ok, they gave a lot of shrimp. I did ask for it on the spicier side and it wasn't spicy at all. My kids shared the Phad Woon sen with chicken, it was very good, again light on flavor. We started out with the trio appetizer, it was small and underwhelming in size. The jalapeño bomb was so small it was a joke. A mouse could have eaten it. We maybe should have gotten sushi because other people did and it looked good but we came for Thai. I probably wouldn't return, and I agree with other reviews that this is a last resort when you're desperate for Thai and all other places are closed. read more

It used to be good, used to. This is the last time I will give them my business. The dinner portion sizes are pathetic! They are even cheap with plain steamed white rice. We are light eaters normally splitting a dinner portion between the two of us at most restaurants but this was not even enough for one. If you're desperate for Thai food or sushi in the town of Sandpoint, this is the place to go, but if you're a coastal stater like myself, this doesn't even compare to the real thing. If you're going to order any one of the curries, just a heads up there's not that much broth. It does taste good, but I would suggest Secret thai over Thai nigiri any day of the week. The service here is good, but the atmosphere is a little lacking. Some of the decorations look like they were purchased at Ross. They could use a little more authentic decorations to bring the place to life. I've never had a bad experience at this restaurant. I'm just being honest and upfront. This place is so confused on what it's doing. Sometimes they only serve Thai, sometimes only sushi, sometimes they decide to just close on random days. Sometimes they have boba tea and sometimes not. You never know what you're gonna get! Or not get... I've also come here thinking to sit down and been told it's takeout only and sometimes you can sit. I don't know what's going on and neither do they it seems. When they do it all its great (except for their boba, please order Buddha boba blends for your flavors guys and use an unsweetened tea base like black, or oolong.) the Thai tea is always good though. We went to Thai Nigiri on a Saturday night and got seated right away at the sushi bar. We enjoyed sitting at the bar because we were able to watch the way they prepared the sushi rolls. We ordered spicy edamame, spicy tuna roll, killer salmon roll and the chicken veggie rice bowl and all were delicious! The service was great too. We are looking forward to going back to Thai Nigiri. The food is usually REALLY good, but the hours are so random that we often make plans and show up and they're closed. Or we show up and they only have a partial menu. I look forward to more normal hours in the future. I recently had an issue with a food allergy. The waitress didn't understand enough English to understand when I said I have a mushroom allergy. (This is unusual for the area). She took back the food and must have pulled out the mushrooms and re-served it. I could still taste the mushroom and only had one bite. PERFECT meal! One of the best Drunken Noodles I've ever had. Perfect spice level and so much complexity in flavor. Veggies were cooked with the perfect crunch. I've said perfect too much, so I'll say that the apps were amazing. The Fried Tofu was super crispy outside but melted like butter on the inside. The spring rolls were the best ever. They had noodle in them instead of cabbage which turned into a creamy delicious filling alongside the veggies. Hubby got the pad woon-sen which neither of us had ever had and was amazing! Both entrees had such a great proportion of veggies and tofu to noodles. We were blown away! We also got the mango hot saki and jasmine hot tea and they were great compliments to our apps and meals. The house pad Thai seasoning was on point, noodles cooked just right and toppings of bean sprouts, crushed nuts and sliced carrots were plentiful. Green Chicken Curry: $14.95 YUMMMMY!!! The sauce was spicy but just the right amount (I like spicy foods though). The chicken was cooked well but not overdone and there were plenty of veggies (bell pepper, carrots, bamboo shoots, peas). I can't say enough good things about the curry sauce. .... saving the best for last: CRAB WONTONS! $8.00 Some of the best wontons I've had in my life! Five little delicious doughy treats stuffed with snow crab, mushrooms, green onions & cream cheese. The sweet chili sauce that you dip them in is a MUST. I want to go back tomorrow just to order these wontons. If you're looking for an appetizer, order these -- you won't be disappointed. It's okay at best. Though the service was prompt (we came before the dinner rush), the food was so-so. My friend had a curry dish which tasted fair and I settled for that Thai staple of Pad Thai with chicken. It is one of my all time favorite dishes that I enjoyed weekly while living in Seattle so I had high expectations. I was disappointed with both the taste and the spice level, the noodles were very starchy and the spiciness was almost nonexistent. One word, underwhelming - way too much sauce on the noodles as compared to other local establishments, sparse condiments and the dish could have used green onions in addition to the bamboo chutes, carrots and peanuts.
