Great food and great service. I used to eat Thai exclusively at Thai Peacock in downtown Portland but wanted Thai one night when it was closed. I thought I'd try this place because it was close by and convenient. Boy am I glad I did! Really happy with the food here. The environment is nice (not real upscale but very nice). So yummy. We ordered the chicken pad thai (medium spicy) and potstickers with a side of peanut sauce. Everything was made perfectly and medium spicy was perfect. If you're the type of person who likes a jalepeño here and there, you like a little kick in your breakfast sausage and you think pepper jack cheese is kind of bland, the medium spicy is for you. If you're more of a ghost pepper fan, go to the higher spicy levels. If you think black pepper is considered spicy, go mild. Delicious overall! read more

After my poor experience a couple of months back I decided to give Thai Noodle Etc another chance- both due to the response from the owner to my prior review...and because I was craving how amazing the Khao Soi was when I'd ordered it in the past before that off night. I'm glad I gave Thai Noodle Etc another shot through Uber Eats because it was phenomenal this time. The Khao Soi was delicious and flavorful and had all the toppings it was supposed to- all in large quantities and all extremely fresh. The green curry was also fantastic and I can go back to saying that this is some of the best Thai food I've had in PDX (and probably the top option on Uber Eats if you also tend to order a lot of delivery). I reviewed this place when it first opened about four years ago. I thought it was about the best Thai I'd had in a town where you can't swing a cat without hitting an Asian restaurant of some kind. I ordered take out from Thai Noodle tonight and had a great experience from beginning to end. The lady I spoke with on the phone was incredibly kind and welcoming (both on the phone and when I arrived at the restaurant), my order was ready very promptly and both dishes that we ordered were visually appealing as well as very flavorful. We got the Thai Fried rice with tofu and the sweet chili angel hair noodles with tofu. I would recommend both dishes. The vegetables were cooked to perfection and the portion sizes were very generous. Although we didn't dine in, I got a brief view of the restaurant while picking up and it was a very comfortable, clean and welcoming space. I am very happy with my experience tonight and encourage others to try this place. I will definitely be going back in the future. read more

Being a newbie to Thai food we stopped at this place for dinner seeing the good reviews on the noodles. As vegetarians we had gotten the pad kee mao and pad see ew ordered as spicy. The pad kee mao tasted good but was very raw spicy and I couldn't really taste the sauce. The pad see ew on the other hand was very 'Eww' and salty we couldn't taste nothing but an over dose of soy sauce in it. I'd give it 3 stars but maybe I ll show up again to try something else as it's very close to the cinemas. read more

When it comes to Thai food we have 2 choices nearby in Beaverton OR - Thai Bloom and Thai Noodles. I generally prefer Bloom to Noodles. The problem with Noodles is not the food, it's their service - it is quite atrocious. We were there yesterday, the day after Christmas. There were 3 people serving. Kim the Manager was quite polite and professional but the other two, one male and the other female, simply did not care. They either lacked training or were very frustrated at their jobs. They do not greet customers or exchange pleasantries, no one stopped by at our table to see if were doing OK. Two plates were roughly placed on my side; expecting me to pass one to my wife. It is customary for the waiter to gently place plates in front of the guests but not at Noodles. The soup bowls were not removed after the main course was served. When my wife gently asked the waiter to remove the soup bowls, he screamed, "leave it". My wife and I have decided that we will not be going to Noodles again, it is only appropriate that we patronize Bloom; the one that offers better customer service. It is worth noting that Noodles employs only Asians, Bloom has a more open policy when it comes to hiring their staff; they represent various ethnic groups including whites. If an all-white restaurant employed only whites, we are quick to accuse them of racism; should we then not point out the same practice amongst non-white groups? It works both ways, surely? If you choose to work in the hospitality trade make an effort to be hospitable or please step aside. read more

After the closure of Typhoon, the upper NW 23rd area has been sorely in need of a mid-range Thai eatery. Wait no longer; four of us ate there opening night on 3/16/13, and our eagerness was well rewarded. This branch of Thai Noodle Etc lives up to the four-star recommendations of the original Beaverton establishment. We ordered an assortment of noodle, chicken, rice, and soup entrees and were not disappointed; the service was prompt, the food steaming hot, flavorful, and spicy. The fare was fairly standard Thai; not a gourmet experience, but if you're looking for solid, reasonably priced (no dish over $10), ample servings of Thai cuisine served in pleasant surroundings, then look no further. This restaurant occupies the former site of Limo, which was refitted as an upper-end Peruvian restaurant, so the atmosphere is a step above that of a typical inexpensive Asian eatery; an added plus will be patio seating on the relatively quiet Westover Road when the weather allows. read more

And so it goes, another 5-star review. I hate that so many of mine are 5 stars, but I won't alter my opinion because of a fear of looking soft. If 5 stars means "as good as it gets", as Yelp indicates, then the 5 are deserved. I haven't found a better Thai place in the area. I have a few hugely positive things to say about Thai Noodle. 1) When I ordered my Massaman Curry, I really went out of my way to make it clear that I want it as spicy as can be. No joke...I've been to Thailand while making a port call on deployment with the Navy and ate food that basically melted my face off. I wanted that feeling again. When I eat spicy food, I want to do battle. I want to fight through it and barely succeed. I said "Thai spicy for real!" as well as "as hot as you're legally allowed to make it." Now look - I know they aren't going to make anything so blindingly hot that it poses a medical risk, but I want them to try. Last time I asked for it, I got a pretty decent attempt. I was sweating profusely and my mouth was on fire. This is, quite simply, exactly what I want. And they delivered. If this is some manifestation of emotional trauma I sustained while deployed, I'll leave that up to a VA doctor to determine. For now, however, I WANT spicy. 2) The satay is really delightful. I know that chicken satay is kind of a basic appetizer that is rarely ordered as a main dish, but their peanut sauce is *really* good. It's so good that I might suggest ordering a side of peanut sauce with your dish even if you don't order the satay. 3) Of the many times I've been here, both for carry-out and for dining in, the service has been really wonderful. Frankly, the name of the place is probably the biggest detractor. "Thai Noodle" sounds manufactured. And maybe it is. But the kitchen does a really terrific job, the staff is super friendly, and I can't find a legitimate complaint, based on my experiences thus far. read more

Four stars for the food and flavor. Three stars for the portion size, as it was quite small. Their entrees are inexpensive, and the portions reflect the price. For $2 more you can get "family size." I was unaware of the vast difference, although I did think that the overall cost was quite inexpensive. The portion would be right for a small child. The garlic chicken was minuscule. I would go back because the flavor was pretty good, but for every item you need to upgrade, and it would still be very reasonable. Even with the 2 dollar upgrade the entrees would still be 8.95-10.95. They should just serve one size that is reasonable and charge for it as well. If you are in this part of town it would be worth stopping in for some good thai food. read more

My family and I discovered this gem about 9 months ago and this restaurant has become our regular if not weekly joint. We have tried all of their curries except the pumpkin one and they are all terrific! Their noodle dishes are exceptional. We've had the pad see mao, pad see ew, chiang mai noodles, and the pad woon sen. As for appies, their pot stickers are delicious and contrary to what others said, we love their angel wings, with or without sauce, the wings are fried to perfection! The server made a mistake and was rude about it. We end up arguing and she started yelling at me and threw a receipt at me and walked off despite the fact that we still hadn't received our full order. Food: 1) Tom Yum soup: A little too sweet for my taste. I normally always finish the soup, but I couldn't do it this time because it tasted a little too sweet for my liking. The chicken and all the ingredients in the soup were good...but just too sweet. 2) Papaya salad: Very bland, almost tasteless. We asked for mild but we couldn't taste really anything. There wasn't even that tart/sour taste in the dressing that you normally get with this dish. The ingredients seemed pretty fresh, but just bland. 3) Yellow curry: Too sweet. The curry flavor wasn't bad, the beef was good, the potatoes were decent, but the whole dish was just too sweet for me. Ambiance: Moderately sized, open restaurant that looks clean and well kept. Not too heavy with Thai decor, there are a few gems on the wall. There is this chalkboard with a really funny quote on there "My friend thinks he's smart. He said onions are the only food that can make you cry. So I threw a coconut at his face". Hehehe... Service: Started out pretty good, the waiter was attentive and double checked all our orders before submitting them. The food came in a timely fashion, our water was continually refilled, and all was great UNTIL.......at the end of the meal, we all presented out check-in offer, which was "Free fried banana and homemade coconut ice cream dessert". Out of our table of 6, three of us checked in and asked for the free dessert. We patiently waited and waited for our promised dessert....and waited...and waited. Our bill even came ~10-15mins of waiting for our dessert, we asked for our dessert again. Another 5-10min wait, and ONE of the dessert comes out. So now we are still waiting for TWO desserts. We had to ask for our dessert AGAIN. After another 5mins or so, finally all our desserts are served. I'm not sure what the hold up was, but it just took WAY TOO LONG. It was almost like they didn't want to give is to us. If you don't want to give away free dessert, then don't have it as a check-in offer! Price: Our meal ended up costing $31 (including tip), which isn't too expensive for how much food we got but the taste was just a little off. Two dishes being too sweet and one of them being completely tasteless/bland. Overall: I wasn't impressed with this place, I've definitely been to other better Thai places. I'm not sorry I tried this place but I probably won't come back. The way they seasoned the food is not really my cup of tea. read more

Thai Noodle Etc. is located in a really unfortunate location. Connected to a sad mall with mediocre stores at best, it's not really a place where you would expect to find a good restaurant... but this is seriously my favorite Thai place of ALL TIME!! I always get chicken Pad Thai with a side of Jasmine Rice and Fried Calamari as an appetizer. It is seriously delicious! The Pad Thai doesn't have shredded chicken like some places do and the noodles are cooked to perfection. But my favorite thing of all time is the Fried Calamari. I am drooling as I write this review. The Fried Calamari comes with sweet chili sauce and it tastes delicious every single time. It is never soggy and always hot, just the way I like it. :) The only downside is that the service here is SLOW. That's why I can only give this place 4 stars instead of 5. If the service was a little bit faster, it would definitely get that last star. In fact, I rate this place more of a 4.5 rather than a 5. P.S. I'm not really a fan of curry but my friend absolutely LOVES the Massaman curry. The Angel Wings are decent but the Chicken Satay is not that good. It's a bit dry, tbh. read more

Thai Noodle eats like a non-mall Thai restaurant. It's clean, casual and cute inside with great service on all our visits. Happy Hour is a great way to try a few of their appetizer type dishes on the cheap. The calamari, while breaded a little heavy for my tastes, is tender and has great flavor. It will satisfy your fried cravings! Salad rolls and spring rolls are also tasty and sauces are very good. HH pricing can't be beat including beer and wine. Staying for dinner is the real treat! We've had their yellow and Massaman curries and they outstanding. The yellow is our favorite, full of flavor, fresh-crisp veggies with plenty of curry and coconut and Medium is Medium. They don't wimp out on the heat here. If you normally order medium and find it bland, Thai noodle does it right. They know how to add heat without fearing you will complain. If you are not a fan of heat, order mild. The pad kee mao (drunken noodle) is very good here. However, it would benefit from a bit more color (char) on the noodles and veges, but the portion is generous and it was not heavy or oily like some places tend to do. Medium is plenty warm on this dish. We've also had their pork salad (like larb) with ground rice and lemon grass in the dressing, GLORIOUS. Medium is more tame on the spice meter for their salads. Of course, their larb (a.k.a. laab) is wonderful, both salads are full of well rounded, complex flavors and so very fresh tasting. Specials are also a treat like the mango with vegetables, fresh and delightful. We've tried their pork 2 ways (can't recall the name)-excellent. I also love their version of Kao Soi noodle (curry noodle soup with crunchy noodle garnish)-perfect on a cold day. The servers were all gracious and polite. We never had a problem with service here. Pricing is reasonable, no sticker shock. Their wine corkage is $10, which makes this a great place to dine on some fantastic Thai food with your favorite bottle. Great little place to get your Thai on! Tip on parking: Park in the back of the mall by the movie theater (non-CedarHills side) and you'll see the exterior entrance. There's usually plenty of parking in comparison to the mobbed front entry. read more

We have bee to Thai Noddle etc many times in the past, and brought many of our friends here. There were many times that we experienced long wait but we understand sometimes it just take longer. However, today is my last time here and we will never be coming back/recommend any of our friends here. We ordered a soup, rice, a noodle soup and a desert for two people today. We were basically waiting a long time and the rice never came. It is really hard to catch the waitress. Finally when the waitress stopped by our table and realized we did not have our rice. She did say sorry I forgot, but immediately turnaround and left like nothing ever happened at all. At that point, we finished all our soup and noodle and were still hungry but we just wanted to be over with so did not bother to order anything anymore. Also we ordered the banana ice crease desert and they forgot this order too . Instead, a check with brought to us and we just had to remind them about the desert order. Finally, I just could not wait any longer to pay and I explained to her that things are taking longer than I expected and she also missed our order... Suddenly her eyes turned wide open and she literally started yelling at me "I am very busy blablabla........." I am shocked as I was just explaining my situation and don't think I am deserved to be yelled in front of other customers. So I told her I am not going to leave a positive review on yelp and she yelled something like she does not care about this. I've had their Tom Yum and Tom Ka soup. They were delicious, but I made the mistake of ordering both "hot". Wozers. I'm currently in the process of trying all their curry's, and so far, Panang and Kang Dang (red) were fantastic. Nice, friendly service. Zero complaints. I usually stop by here at least a few times a month. Their noodles are really hard to beat- having a lovely and satisfying chewy texture. Definitely a fan of the pad see ew or the lad nah or special ordering the pad kee mao with sliced beef (rather than ground beef). Going for lunch or brunch really can't be beat for the value. I dock one star because a few times the food has been inconsistent- noodles too soft or pad see ew broccoli barely cooked. More times than not, food is fantastic. read more
