I'm giving this restaurant a 4 star rating rather than a five because they are newly opened and still working out a couple of kinks. But my old friends, JoJo and Susie have another hit on their hands. These two fabulous Thai sisters are responsible for much of our populous's love of Thai food. The food is fabulous. The kinks are minor in some service areas. That may be largely due to being so long awaited that they've been somewhat overrun and overwhelmed. You go ladies!! read more

Thai food this good in the US is a gem. It's been 20 years since I've had it this good, despite trying often. All dishes we ordered were amazing. I've had two meals at Thai #9 so far and I can say that both times the food was excellent!!! The ginger chicken is delicious and tasty, the summer rolls almost melt in your mouth and the green curry was just the right amount of spice. Every thing tastes fresh and the owners/ waitstaff are friendly and pleasant. I was here during the busy time and the food prep time was reasonable. I'm visiting friends in Grand Junction, and they said they'd been wanting to try this restaurant. It was my pleasure to join them as I'd been a Peace Corps Volunteer in Thailand years ago. I truly enjoyed both the service and the food. We ordered summer rolls filled with fresh veggies and chicken satay; both came with yummy peanut sauce. The sweet and sour pork was just right, and the basil fried rice was delicious. I even had a chance to speak a few words of Thai! And a real bonus: gluten free soy sauce is both in the kitchen and on the table. If I lived here, I'd return often. read more

Ordered Masaman and Red Curry tonight. Both curries very bland and not very flavorful. The consistency was very thin, almost like a chicken stock with a few Thai spices added, not rich or complex like you would expect. Thai fried rice was better and more flavorful. This place is the BEST Thai restaurant I have ever been to. I live in Arizona and visit Grand Junction a few times a year and Thai 9 is always a must. The family I stay with go at least twice a week. Service is good and everything I have tried has been wonderful. read more

This is the best Thai food in the valley! All the food is fresh, made to order, and full of flavor! They are speedy and friendly.

The food was great and a decent price. The customer service was poor. My friend ordered her food and also asked for a dessert. The waiter didn't write down her dessert order and when she asked about it the lady said "I think we're out" she didn't even bother to check. This place is very good. Awesome flavors & friendly staff. I have tried the shrimp pad thai & the seafood soup. Both had great flavors and were not bland at all. I will say the seafood soup needs to have more "seafood" in it as it is not a cheap purchase. I found the last 2 times it had more stewed tomatoes than anything else. Amazing food! Best Thai food I've ever tasted. I love that you have a shrimp or tofu option for practically ever meal, and the spices were spot on. Service was super friendly and fun. I went with a few friends and we shared 3 appetizers and 3 entrees. The massaman curry was the crowd favorite, but everything was delicious. Can't wait to return and try more. Over the past 25 years I have eaten at hundreds of Thai restaurants in the US and in Thailand. I was really looking forward to the new restaurant in Grand Junction with hopes of recommending to others. Unfortunately the food left me with a stomach ache after the Drunken Noodles were much too oily. Other dishes were like curry lacked vegetables. The menu is very limited and there were no delicious desserts. We will not be back there! read more

Tried for ten minutes to call and place a to go order. The woman initially answered and asked me to hold then just hung up on me. I called repeatedly for ten minutes thinking they would answer the phone at some point. Obviously they are too busy to answer the phone. What a bunch of idiots who obviously can't multi task. I can't even review the food because I was not able to order any. But the customer service is piss poor. I would give it ZERO stars but it makes you pick one. PATHETIC!! You won't be in business long if this is how you treat your customers... actually I am not even a customer because these morons can't multi task. read more

Let me preface this review with a note on how excited we were to try some Thai food in the grand valley: very! Came in on a Saturday afternoon for our first time. Ordered the papaya salad and golden tofu as app and had the pad prik ram and pad Thai both with tofu for main course and got a masaman curry chicken to go. The golden tofu was prepared perfectly with crispy breading but lacked seasoning. It was served with a watered down peanut sauce with small bits of peanuts floating on top...more like peanut water. There was fish sauce in the salad. I have no idea who thinks the rotten barrel-aged carcasses of anchovies are a) good on anything or b) belongs on a goddam salad but they are not friends of mine. Whoever thought that was a good idea should choke on rocks. The main courses weren't plagued by this awful ingredient but were mostly flavorless save for a touch of...maple syrup on the pad Thai? I mean, I know this is grand junction but come on. The prik ram had pleasant hints of coconut flavor but without salt and that fire Chile powder at the table it was pretty bland. Not sure we will return anytime soon, maybe try it again in a year if it's still around. They didn't charge for the salad after we sent it back, which was a big plus. read more
