Delicious food, excellent service , nice casual atmosphere- eat inside or outside. I highly recommend this Thai restaurant. Food was wonderful we ordered "fresh sugar cane drink" that was delightful, Chicken Satay, Pho was so huge I took home at least one more meal and Thai vegetables with rice was huge. Try this place you will not be disappointed.

Thai Orchid has been on my list for a while to check out. There are certain foods such as Thai food I tend to stick to my go to places and do not venture to new places often. I'm so glad we tried Thai Orchid and was pleasantly surprised. We started with the Spring Rolls with shrimp and the Crab Rangoon. I'd say skip the Crab Rangoon; they were kind of greasy and bland. Main entrees we had the Red Curry with Tofu, Pad See Ew with chicken and the Spicy Basil Fried Rice. All of our main entrees were delicious. We did a level 2 on the red curry and it was just the right amount of heat; not too spicy but just enough heat.

I live in the neighborhood and have been wanting to try out this new place for a while. I finally got the chance, and the food did not disappoint! I ordered takeout so I can't comment on the service necessarily, but my pick up experience was smooth. I was craving chicken pad Thai and was soooo satisfied after eating this dish! It's a huge portion so I was able to make two meals out of it. It has a little kick and plenty of flavor. My husband got the pepper steak (no onions or peppers) and we were both fans. I like how light the sauce is and tender the meat is. We also shared an order of the egg rolls which were awesome. I appreciate that they are not heavy. The sweet and sour dipping has some heat to it! The inside of the restaurant is clean and spacious. I will definitely dine in sometime in the future. I can't wait to go back for more pad Thai!

May have finally found the most authentic Thai in the Milwaukee area. Their menu is a bit limited (only 2 curries offered) but it seems that everything they offer is delicious. My go-to is tofu pad see ew and it was so flavorful and moist. My friend got the pork belly and I tried a bite, the dipping sauce is so dang good. The dessert was delicious as well. The portions are huge and it's reasonably priced. There were a good amount of people on a Friday night. Service was great. Would definitely come back!

There is a rumor floating around that the infamous Thai Joe or his wife trained the chef at Thai Orchid so that's always a great sign. We had the dining divas group out - 13 of us in total so that's always a big group to manage. The atmosphere is really cozy and quaint. I liked the Thai music on the TV screen and that the place is not too big or small. We had some of the signature martinis at the bar and I loved the Lychee martini as well as my friends. We shared some of the crab rangoon and what set it apart was the thinness of the wonton wrappers plus the dipping sauce. I would highly recommend getting this as an appetizer. I opted for the crispy pork belly and I didn't like it at all. I am used to pork belly that is crispy on the edges and not chewy. This was dry and chewy - I told the waitress but she said that's the way they prepare it so next time I will not get that dish. However, I tried some of the beef Pad Thai from a friend and it was some of the best Pad Thai I have ever eaten so that made up for the chewy pork belly. Please note that it came mild so you need to let them know spice level. However, many people got the chicken red curry and there was no spice level asked and it was very spicy. People loved the flavor but said it did wallop a punch. The service for a group this big was almost flawless - we even asked for separate checks and she did it for us so there was extra tips! I will definitely be back and go for the Pad Thai or try the Pad See Ew.

We were actually intending to go to another nearby restaurant but arrived to find them closed. A quick search on Yelp and we found this spot 2 minutes away. Happy we found this spot for dinner and enjoyed our experience here. They have a large, clean dining room, bar seating, patio seating, and appeared to have a room for small dinner gatherings (roughly conference room sized with a tv and long dining table). It's a great spot for everything from solo diners to large groups. We came on a Monday evening and were able to be seated right away. To start things off, we got their crab rangoon, which were excellent. For my entree, I got their pad thai which was good. My dining companion got the drunken noodles which were outta this world. The service was kind and attentive. Get to it!

I found out about Thai Orchid while perusing a discount offer website and decided to give them a try for lunch. I called in an order to go for beef Pad See Ew and egg rolls. The egg rolls were larger than I expected, which is always appreciated. They had nice flavor, fresh ingredients, and were hot and crispy. I'd put these right up there near the top of the list for egg rolls I've had. The Pad See Ew was a little pricier than what I get from another Thai place near work, but you get more for your money and the beef was fantastic in quality. The online menu says the Pad See Ew contains wide rice noodles, eggs, broccoli, dark soy sauce, and your choice of protein. I didn't mind the carrots that were included, but I don't care for onions of any kind, so the green onion dumped on top was annoying. It wasn't difficult to scoop out, but I shouldn't have to if the menu would mention it and I could order without the green onion.

Same outdoor patio as the taco place

I stopped here for the restaurant of the week after noticing that the taco place was gone and a new Thai restaurant was in its place. The decor might be new paint colors but the inside is exactly the same as the taco place with the same tables, booths and bar. My service had no issues and I was seated right away, anywhere I wanted. The menu isn't huge but it's for appetizers, Pho, fried rice etc etc. Sometimes I don't feel a main course and today was one of those days when the app menu had fried calamari and shrimp tempura so that's what I ordered. My food came quick and looked good with orange dipping sauce. The Thai shrimp tempura was 4 pieces and good but the tempura batter was different from let's say a sushi restaurant and texture was closer to breaded fried shrimp I thought. The calamari was the star because it had a completely different crunchy batter that was seasoned better than the shrimp. The calamari was approx 7 rings and 5 small tentacles and cooked absolutely perfect, not like eating a rubber band like some places. Even though I didn't get any traditional Thai plates like I wanted, dam shrimp tempura and fried calamari on the menu completely ran me of the road and side tracked me but I thoroughly enjoyed an appetizer lunch so I will have to stop back for more of the menu. I love Pho which almost won so I have to get back for some one day.

Fast friendly service. Great food (used quality meats in pho). Egg rolls really crispy and delicious. Table stocked with Hosin sauce, siracha, soy sauce and hot oil.

The restaurant is in a tucked away strip mall and is modest in size and decor. The strip mall also contains hidden treasures like a Chinese bakery/BBQ and an Asian store. We went early on a Saturday evening with friends. The service was excellent, although with some staff there were language hurdles. No matter - everyone made it work and we were left with an abundance of amazing food at a reasonable price. Wine and beers are served, as well as smoothies and other non-alcoholic drinks. BF ordered crab rangoon as a starter, which was good. He liked it more than I did, but it was nice and crispy. I just didn't think it compared to other dishes. My vegetable egg roll was very good as well, but nothing terribly unique. He went bold on the entree and ordered the pork intestine and blood cake dish. He really enjoyed it and said it was quite spicy. The portions are generous and he did bring a lot home. I ordered the homestyle tofu, which normally has pork. I got it without to make it vegetarian friendly. The textures were very good and the sauce was intensely flavorful, but mild. I also ordered a supplementary dish of braised mushrooms and Shanghai greens. Everyone at the table enjoyed this dish, particularly the greens, which are a variety of bok choy, called pac choy. The mushrooms were wonderful, with the texture of wood ears. I also had plenty of leftovers to eat the next day. Our friends ordered the Szechuan spicy pork dumplings and they got rave reviews. My cousin did say they were not overly spicy. She went on to order the sizzling black pepper beef, which she said was good, but not nearly as unique or deeply flavored as the other dishes. Her husband ordered the pork intestine with clear noodles, which he enjoyed but said was extremely spicy. He did leave a lot of sauce behind since it was so hot. He also had the ox tendon and maw in spicy sauce, which came with chopped peanuts on top. He seemed really pleased with that dish. We agreed that we would happily go back to explore the menu more. Everything was excellent and I thought the prices were generally quite reasonable, especially for the quantity of food. I do wish the menu had more descriptive text, so I could familiarize myself with the dishes. The choices are many and overwhelming and the menu is huge. I'd also love to see a symbol for vegetarian options since it's very hard to know otherwise and many of the vegetable dishes included pork or other meat. As we left the restaurant was getting increasingly busy with people waiting by the door for seats. This is a popular place for good reason.

The Spicy Pork Dumplings have become my go-to appetizer, and the fried spring rolls are also very good. On a most recent visit, we ordered hot pot. Our server brought us the sheet to make our selections. You can choose from mild broth, spicy broth, or half tray of each. The spicy is pretty hot with lots of red chili peppers soaking in it, so I scooped out the chili peppers to keep rhe flavor but lessen the impact on my palate. For 2 guests, I recommend choosing 3 items from the list, maybe 2 protein and one veggie or 2 veggie and one protein to start. You can order more if you finish and need more. This is in addition to the two appetizers you will choose, which is included with rhe hot pot dinner. It's a great value! Sze Chuan remains on my short list of go-to's for Chinese dining, and I look forward to my next visit, whenever that may be.

I thought today that I would visit my old friend and even though I have been around the world with the menu that dam general Taos chicken dinner combination is my favorite. The general Taos chicken combination comes with chicken fried rice and an egg roll. The chicken is always big moist chunks of tender velveted chicken which I can't tell if it's white or dark meat because of the velveting process but I like it. The egg roll isn't the tiny ones that became the norm over the years and it's super average like 95 % of Asian restaurants now, not like years past when the egg roll was a signature staple in Asian restaurants and they made really good ones. The combination chicken fried rice is that kind you find on most combination menus, not the main dish dark fried rice full of meat and veggies but just enough to accompany the main dish. Overall it's tasty enough and better than the average neighborhood Chinese restaurant and for a dinner combination that was 2 1/2 pounds of food for $13.50, price vs quality vs taste it's a winner.

The seats were comfortable and we were enjoying our Jasmine green tea and conversation. My husband had the spicy heather rice noodles. The flavors were there, albeit on the salty side. His chief complaint was that the items within the dish kept separating out. Likely due to the oils. Every bite was either noodles or one of the mixed in ingredients. My dish, on the other hand, was easy to get everything in one bite. Even with chopsticks. The stir fried udon was not crispy, which I was curious about. It was still toothy and delicious with the mixed vegetables and chicken. The sauce was neither overpowering nor too abundant. Everything was coated but not drowning, if that makes sense. I'm a huge fan of udon noodles and this dish was simply comforting. The menu itself is not overwhelming but there are plenty of items to choose from.
