Not gonna lie. I wasn't expecting much from a drive thru Thai place located in an old hot dog stand. I mean, seriously? But then I have it a shot. It was actually quite amazing. The Panang curry was flavor packed, and the three pack of egg rolls were a nice side. I look forward to checking out the rest of their menu over time. When rolling around with the kid strapped in the car seat, it's great to know there are options for fast food that don't require me to visit the usual suspects and their usually suspect menus. read more

Don't let the exterior of this place deter you. At the moment their ordering screen is down so pull up to the window to order. The food is really good! Drive thru is quick and staff is always friendly. The curry is addictive, I've tried them all. Oh and get the cream cheese rolls. read more

I dig the flavors ! I got the egg rolls for a appetizer, and they were fresh, and tasty. You get 3 for 3.50 so,it's a pretty reasonable deal (4 inch egg rolls) . Main entree was the drunken noodles. Great fresh flavors incorporated - super friendly staff The bad the noodles were pretty much mush, which I dealt with fine, but hopefully next round I get some al dente noodles. We had Thai Pepper for the first time in two years, and I have to say, they've stepped up their game! Don't get me wrong, it was delicious two years ago! But we got the green curry (with tofu) and panang (with tofu) and both were phenomenal. Serious and wonderful depth of flavor, not overly sweet OR overly spicy, veggies done perfectly (bamboo was a perfect blend of soft and crunchy). We don't eat out or takeout much so finally when the stars aligned, did a search and sort by "stars" and this place came up on top. Even though it was 20 Mi drive, decided to give them a try confident that I would not be disappointed. Well, I was wrong wrong ! None of the four items we ordered were even above average. Pad Thai was absolutely flavorless, drunken noodles felt like over cooked mush with hardly any taste, and Penang Curry was like colored coconut milk. Only thing that was just barely moved the needle off zero was the Pad Prik King. Should also mention that the portions all felt much smaller than they should've been which actually turned out to be blessing in disguise. We tried this place for the first time today. I had the stir fry cashew and my wife had the pad Thai. They were both excellent with great flavor, perfect heat, and fresh ingredients, and at such a reasonable price! We're looking forward to trying the other dishes on the menu. Passing near by I decided to get some Thai food, I have plenty of knowledge about Thai food and the culture, so I had to try it just because I love Thailand. When arriving this guy with a mask on, ask me (mumbling) "what I wanted?", to what I responded sorry I can't hear you. Let me mention that I often go to McDonald's and I hear them perfectly, I never had any problems. Anyhow, for every question he would roll his eyes at me, I do understand the frustration of having an accent and when I am tired I mumble too, but I don't roll up my eyes to my costumer because I don't want to be there. I end up leaving without trying their food. I hope management would do something about their horrible staff. read more

I ordered the Tom Kha soup with chicken, which was delicious! But I also ordered rice as a side with the intent of eating it like a curry, I didn't see anywhere in the description that it already included rice. Three things that will prevent me from ordering this amazing dish again. 1. There are bite size pieces of lemon grass that are tough and inedible. these should be larger pieces removed before serving. 2. There are also large chunks of ginger, which should also be removed or cut down as they are inedible at that size. 3. I ordered the hottest level and there was zero spice, not MN spice, zero. I'm sad not to order it again as the flavor was amazing! read more

I accidentally saw that there was a new Thai restaurant in West St. Paul. I was looking for a Thai restaurant when I saw it pop up. Decided to go try the place out and liked fact it is just a take out restaurant with a drive through instead of sit down. We went to the drive through and ordered our food. The owner Paul was talking with us about how the restaurant was started and a bit about himself. The food is made to order takes about 15 minutes to be made so the owner talked to us so that we were not just waiting the whole time. He was letting us know the best way to get food there is to order online or call it in first so there is not a long wait time. We ordered two orders of Chicken Pad Thai and an order of Chicken Thai Basil stir Fry. The Pad Thai had lots of flavor and a very good sized portion. The Chicken Thai Basil stir fry was very favorable although next time I will order a bit spicier. Overall the food at Thai Pepper is very good and we plan to visit again very soon to try their curry dishes. read more

We ordered the pad Thai, Rama curry, panang curry and cream cheese wontons- unfortunately they were out of the eggrolls. 3 stars overall due to the panang curry and cream cheese wontons were quite yummy. Rama curry was more of a stir fry for us and the pad Thai was dry and flavorless! Pad Thai should ideally burst with huge flavor bomb of tamarind, sweetness, sour from the lime and saltiness from a hint of fish sauce- instead we got a lot of dried and almost plastic smelling noodles? Picked this place on a whim when we were nearby waiting for an oil change. Wow! Doesn't look like much but they nailed every dish. Egg rolls, green curry, red curry and ginger stir fry were each excellent. Oh and the noodle dish Pad See Ew was devoured by us and our kids. A direct quote from my wife after we dug in: "I knew it was going to be good when I saw what a little hole in the wall it was." We called ahead and it was hot and ready to be picked up through the drive-through when we arrived. It will be a bit of a drive but we'll definitely be back. read more

Been meaning to try this place and so glad I finally did! My husband and I got pad thai, basil stir fry, Rama curry, and egg rolls- best egg rolls I've ever had hands down. Everything else was absolutely delicious as well. I also got the Thai ice tea with lime and didn't know what to expect but it was super good, tastes like it has Li Hing Mui powder in it. Was skeptical about trying this place but decided to give it a try. I ordered online, which I recommend being that it would take a few minutes to cook and I didn't want to wait at the store. It took 20 minutes for my order to be ready. I ordered chicken pad thai , panang curry chicken, and cream cheese rolls. The cream cheese rolls come with 4 of them and they are so delicious! They have a sweet flavor to them instead of regular cream cheese flavor that you sometimes get from Chinese take out. The panang curry chicken was delicious! I ordered mild and it still had a spicy hotness to it. I definitely recommend this place and will be ordering again soon. This was SO FANTASTIC. The only thing preventing it from five stars was that the chicken was kinda dry in the pad thai; even so, it was very flavorful and delicious. We live in the area & were excitedly curious & eager to check out this place. Tonight we finally did & were very happy--read nothing but positive reviews & we were not disappointed--lived up to the reviews! We had Chicken Pad Thai & egg rolls. Everything was deliciously yummy! If you prefer to not wait, you can order online/by phone (*online is prepay with credit card/not sure about phone orders) & pick up from the drive-thru window around back. Otherwise, there is a front walk-up window to order & wait. I was really impressed & fortunate bc the owner called me (I accidentally ordered the wrong entree & by chance/good fortune), to say that they were out of the noodle that is usually used for the (wrong) dish & to ask if it was okay. It worked out either way bc his call made me realize my mistake & he had the noodles for the Pad Thai. Also, since I'd requested extra sauce, he explained that the sauce is concentrated & asked if I preferred he add it directly to the dish during preparation (which he recommended & agree is the way to go) or if I preferred it on the side. You're able to choose the level of heat & we chose mild. I like spicy, but too spicy doesn't like me & I have to be careful (bummer bc I'm Mexican!)--plus you have to test the waters with new places. Word to the wise or forewarning: there are jalapeño pieces in the dish & even the mild has a little heat (however, the jalapeño pieces can be separated & I thought the heat was very tolerable for someone who likes/can tolerate a little heat)--which was perfect for me, but a surprise bc I've had (mild) Pad Thai at other places & those levels of mild have been no heat. The chicken was tender & just the right ratio of meat to noodle & was seasoned right & tasty! And the egg rolls--well I'm a sucker & junkie for the right egg roll & now I'm going to be in trouble bc I can get my fix all too easily. They're made just the way I love them--with a thin crispy wrap & cellophane noodles & they're accompanied with a side of slightly sweet, savory & tangy sauce that is so good & they come 3 per order too! The only thing that could make them better is if they were bigger (that's not to say they're small, just me being greedy bc they're so yummy )! Even the container for the egg rolls had a cute design on the inside (it was a nice touch, but as long as the food's in a tightly closed decent container--it's the contents that matter most & the goodies inside the containers were ). When I ordered since we were ordering the same things (x3), wasn't certain if they'd combine all 3 into one container (bc a lot of places do that for convenience sake & to save on containers), but wanted to make sure they were separate, so I requested that when ordered & I have to give props to (who I'm assuming is) the owner bc he separated all 3 orders nicely into 3 separate bags (one Pad Thai & one order of egg rolls per bag) & included napkins & forks as well in each bag. This might seem like a small or insignificant detail, but to me, it makes a difference & is a plus that matters (it makes things easier) & not many places make certain to do these things. Lastly, I want to give a shout out to the gentleman (owner?) who took care of us from beginning to end--he was AWESOME! From calling about things & making sure we were going to be okay with the food & how it would be prepared/served & he was courteous, friendly, pleasant, patient & about customer service & satisfaction--to making certain the food was packaged as requested, that we had utensils & napkins & then when we arrived to pick-up to provide service with a smile & welcoming vibe. We'll definitely be back & recommend giving them your business & treating yourself to some deliciousness! Oops--one more thing: the menu is small, but makes sense being a walk-up/order ahead drive-thru joint & considering the food being prepared. I tend to be a creature of habit when it comes to some foods & I find something I like, I usually stick to it, but I have no doubt, just from what I tried, if you enjoy Thai food, that you'll find something for you or will enjoy everything they offer!
