The real deal in Thai food. We had four in our group and were seated promptly. Good menu offered many choices. You can get any level of spice heat you wish. It is heaven if you can take the heat. Updated review from my first at this location (over two years ago) my wife & I have since moved to goodlettsville from Nolensville Pike (switched from Bangkokville to Thai pooket II as our go to Thai) & this has become our favorite Thai stop, especially since the one near the stadium flamed up. The guy who runs this place now (goes by Uncle) just is a real delight & always entertaining & attentive even when they are very busy. Also not listed anywhere on the website is a mandatory 15% "Service Charge" for takeout orders. A small service fee is reasonable but 15% should be if you are eating in-house. The owner told me "that I was expected to tell him on the phone when I ordered that I was a new customer and it was my fault I did not know the updated menu prices." Thai food in Nashville seemed a bit sketchy to me but I'm so glad we decided to stop here for some lunch. The restaurant it self gives off a hole in the wall mom & pop type of vibe, the building itself is older and doesn't seem the cleanest. It definitely has an awkward vibe to it when you first walk in, but the staff is very welcoming and patient. The Thai tea was delicious! I'm not sure if it's brewed fresh, but you could definitely tell it was not powder based. The photos of the summer rolls on here did not look very appetizing at all; I almost didn't even bother getting them because of that reason but I'm happy I did. It is served with peanut sauce which is creamy and probably the best peanut sauce I've had in this area. Steamed dumplings were delicious, the texture and flavors mixed very well together. I'm not a fan of the sauce they served it with though, I recommend using the vinegar they have on the side instead. Tom Kha was warm and full of a variety of flavors. I thought it was a little too sweet, but it was still good. Pad Thai is usually the go to when eating Thai food, it did not disappoint! They serve a good amount of crunchy peanuts on the plate that you mix in with it all and it gives it a nice crunchy texture with the soft noodles. Finally made it to this place. Wish I could have gone to the original before it burned down though. I walked in and immediately felt at home because it reminded me of my favorite Chinese place growing up...simple but good food. The staff was nice and we got our food quickly, which was great because I was starving. I ordered the pad Thai with veggies. It was so good! We just recently went to Thailand and I've been pretty picky about my Thai food since then. While it's not the original, I think it's my favorite I've had in Nashville...flavorful, good veggie addition, and not too greasy. My husband ordered the lard na with chicken. We didn't love that dish as it was soupier than usual, but it was still very fresh and included lots of good broccoli and chicken. Pretty good. I started out with the TOM KHA - it was a coconut milk based soup with kaffir leaves, lime juice, lemon-grass, galangal, and mushroom with extra veggies. The cabbage was a bit too much. But it was very tasty. My main meal was the SASSY CURRY (Pineapple Curry) A consists of red curry blended with coconut milk, pineapple, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, carrots, bell peppers, and fresh basil leaves with extra veggies. We got take out and everyone loved their food but be careful with the spice levels because I got brave and went a bit too spicy for my taste buds with a level 3, so next time I'll do a 2. This place is really good. I didn't expect much since the establishment isn't much to look at, but honestly, I should have known by that alone I was about to get some good hole-in-the-wall cookin. It was a pretty busy Friday evening when I and two others came for dinner. I only saw one person taking orders, delivering orders, and busing tables. Even though he was running around like a mad man, I figured service would be slow since there was only one of him. But actually, I think this guy is some kind of superhero. The wait was normal. He came to our table to take orders within a few minutes, our drinks came a couple of minutes after we'd ordered them, appetizers (the Tom Kha soup is delicious) soon after and so on. I was really impressed. My drunken noodle dish was really good, although I wanted a bit more veggies in it. Sautéed eggplant and fried rice were also at the table. I tasted both of those dishes as well and I think the sautéed eggplant surprised me the most. I really like eggplant and this dish had lots of veggies and a savory sauce. The portions are huge, too. Everyone left the table with a to-go container. I actually didn't pay for dinner so I have no idea what the bill was like, but the food was so good I heard not one complaint about anything. Phenomenal. That's the key word here. I visited the other Thai Pooket location last year, but quickly realized it has closed since then and my gps took me here! I had been craving their Pad Thai for months. I try to try something new every time I come down to Nash, but I had to do a repeat (kinda) to satisfy that craving. I was not let down. First of all, this location is SO much cleaner and smells so much better than the other. It's in a much safer neighborhood and just overall is a better quality location. I ordered the summer rolls as an appetizer and my best friend ordered the steamed dumplings. Holy. Cow. The steamed dumplings are phenomenal! The sauce they come with is so good, I used the leftover on my summer rolls too. The summer rolls here are the best I've had hands down. They're fresh, have all the key ingredients, and the peanut sauce actually has complex flavor! Their apps are a MUST. My best friend and I both LOVE Pad Thai, so the lunch special Pad Thai was a no brainer. The special is $8.50. It comes with a bowl of soup (pictured), an egg roll (sorry I ate it before I took a picture lol), and an entire plate of Shrimp Pad Thai (pictured). Again, wow! So much quality and quantity for your money! The Pad Thai is the best. I got level 2 heat this time, but I think level 3 is my favorite. I like a good kick to my food. You'll not want for more flavor, this dish is packed full of it! But after our appetizers and extra with our lunch, after a few bites I was stuffed! I got mine to go and ate on for lunch the next day! Honestly, that's a huge win for me. The service is good! Our original server was kind of slow to get around to us and didn't look very pleased or say much. But she was quickly replaced with a very happy and gracious (what I would imagine) supervisor. Okay, so by no means am I an expert on Thai food as I've only eaten it a handful of times so if you have eaten it around the world (or US) you might judge Thai Phooket II differently than I. I can't attest how it stands up to all Thai food, just what little I've had in the past but I really, really enjoyed my meal here recently. I was stuck on this side of town for the afternoon and needed lunch--looking for a top-rated place I hadn't tried before I found this place and am glad I did. I notice it is a second location of the That Phooket near the stadium in Nashville and I've always meant to try that but I hear this is the same food. Anyway, I opted for the drunken noodles in 3 star spicy level. I had those topped with veggies, a spring roll was on the side and I started my meal with hot green tea and the steamed dumpling appetizer. Everything was hot, spicy and delicious. The vegetables were terrific, the noodles and sauce packed with flavor and the service was excellent. There are a lot of great looking dishes on the menu so I will certainly be back! read more

I could be harsh on Nashville since Richmond spoiled me with so much great Thai food, but Thai Phooket II was not it for me. I do realize that getting takeout is different than sitting down somewhere, since the food is not as fresh and changes in texture, too. Prices were very affordable, however, and I was surprised to see such a prominent Thai restaurant in Goodlettsville, but I'm glad to see there is more variety. As per usual, I ordered Pad See Ew and asked them for Chinese Broccolli, also called Gai Lan, instead of American Broccoli. It's slimmer and not as bulky and often crunchier than American Broccoli. They ended up adding both, which wasn't a big dealbreaker for me and sometimes things can get misinterpreted over the phone. I also placed an order for shrimp spring rolls and was pleasantly surprised that the rolls were very generous and large. It came with two large cups of peanut sauce that I ended up using for other dishes I made at home. Sweet and not too peanuty. I thought it would be a good appetizer for summer since it's light and fresh. I did find a hair in one of the rolls, it wasn't very long, but nonetheless it was there. As an Asian person with long hair, I sometimes find this in my own home cooking and generally it doesn't bother me. I think I was a bit disappointed by the hair. Lastly, I ordered Coconut soup and found it also lackluster. Yet again, I understand that placing it in a plastic container doesn't do much aesthetically or for temperature control, but I found it a bit too tangy without much coconut milk flavor. I felt like there wasn't a good quality, thick coconut milk used in the making of the soup. It was nice that I didn't have to cook and talking to the owner over the phone I felt they were very attentive and quick. They provided us curbside pickup which was very nice and we were able to pay over the phone. But, unfortunately, I'm not too keen to give this another try. First, the Panang. Soooo good. I didn't order it, but after trying my mom's, I wish I had. It was so flavorful and delicious. Great portion size. 3 adults and 2 kids went for dinner Saturday. Our First time. They wanted to seat us right in kitchen area. But I said no because I don't like looking at that. So We then went to regular dining area and pulled up an extra chair. The food comes out and 6 year old and grandfather ordered same meal. The waitress gives the bigger portion to the 6 year old.
