My goshhh! This place is amazing. Right on the Main Street of the town. I found a parking spot on the street, but there is a lot down the street you can park in if you can't find street parking. They had a few tables outside on the street with umbrellas. We were a party of 7 so we ate inside. Vibe was cozy and upscale, but comfortable. The staff was super friendly and made great recommendations. The chicken with eggplant dish was PHENOMENAL. I'm going to have to go back soon. All of our apps were great (crag rangoons, chicken satay, pork dumplings, Thai sausage, papaya salad). Everyone enjoyed their meals. Strange though, they don't have curry puffs. While visiting my daughter-in-law in Pheonixville, PA, we decided to order out for lunch. She and her husband recommended Tai Me Up. It's one of their favorite places to eat in the area. Selecting a dish was very difficult. In addition to all of the traditional Thai food offerings, there are options for Thai street food, seasonal specials, and other non-traditional menu items. My son in law and I had the Pad Thai (mine with shrimp and his with chicken), my daughter in law had the Pad Key Mao, my fiance had the Drunken noodles with beef, and we ordered the duck tacos as appetizers. We ordered the food online, to pick up at the restaurant. It was ready and waiting for is when we arrived. Generous sized portions were served and the food was packed well. The food was delicious! The quality of the shrimp, duck, and beef were very good. The sauces and noodles were perfect, and the tacos were served with the freshest ingredients. On a busy Saturday night in Phoenixville, we were lucky to get a table at Tai Me Up without having to wait. This is a beautifully decorated restaurant right in the heart of town. Last minute decision to stop here, on the way back to NY from Lancaster. It was an awesome experience! We were a large group with kids and they gave us a private space with room for all of us comfortably. Everyone loved their food and the price is the best value for Thai food I have very had! Our waitress Kate went above and beyond and we really appreciated her! She was supper sweet and even gave coloring books to my nephews. Ive tried many pad thai's before, this is a solid contender for one of the best I've had. Their drunken noodles weren't bad either although not in my top. Spice level, if you have a high tolerance for spice I would still recommend medium at max. They got the authentic spice levels We weren't able to order cocktails on Friday night because there wasn't a bartender. Granted it was somewhat early? (7-8pm) but still weird We had to wait a little longer than usual to receive our checks when we were done eating. They were quite busy. I ordered the drunken noodles and hubby ordered the green curry. We both do enjoy a spicy dish, but I had been warned to order my meal mildly spicy. Husband ordered his meal medium spicy. Walked around to a back lot through some buildings and saw a staircase leading up to a door that said it was for DoorDash, grubhub, and takeout. The vibe was a little off? Walked into an empty room with no employees and a shelf which was a little strange. No biggie though, order was ready on time. Anyway, as for the food, this was hands down the best massaman curry I've ever had. It was not overly spicy, as I ordered it mild, and the sweetness of the coconut was wonderful. It was a normal serving of veggies. On the menu it said it had carrots, potato, and onion, but the order I got also had broccoli and string beans. I did order extra veggies in it, so I'm not sure if that was just the extra portion or what but it didn't seem like I received extra. I also ordered drunken noodle with extra chicken. I ordered this mild as well but this was much spicier than I expected, which is fine! I will say they got the extra chicken portion right on this, as I had so much in my container. The peppers were cooked down nicely and gave a great flavor to everything surrounding it. The chicken was cooked well and the noodles weren't over done at all. The only reason I didn't give this place five stars was the price for the portion you get and the confusing pickup location with no employees. Me and my girlfriend go here several times a week, all the time. The ceiling is so detailed from its rich history and dining area is cool and theres lots to enjoy visually. The only inconsistency EVER is the spice level can sometimes be a tad overwhelming. thats just a warning not a complaint. i like i spicy! all the desserts are so DELICIOUS! no complaints what so ever! plus spice is good for you! so just deal with it! lol if its too spicy, i order a second side of rice to mellow it out. the Thai tea is fantastic. This has been our go to lunch spot for a while now. The ambiance itself makes it worth a visit. Food is great and tastes great. We tried Drunken noodle which has a nice balance of spice and sweetness. Street Noodles with loads of fried chicken with rice noodles is a hit always. The spice level is something to be aware of. Medium is what I go for and it can get real spicy after that (not for the faint of stomach and heart). Their non alcoholic drinks can get a little too sweet but they still taste decent. The food at Tai Me Up is amazing and the ambiance in the main dining room is also great. However, there is a side room that has most of the two tops and a few four tops. It's pretty crammed in there and doesn't have nearly the same charm as the main dining room. I fully understand their desire to serve as many people as possible because their food is excellent, but being seated in the side room was a pretty big buzz kill after seeing how nice the main room was. 10/10 recommend Tai Me Up, just try to sit in the main room for the best experience. read more

I came in a party of two and was first to arrive. I stood by the door and the Please Wait to be Seated sign for a good five mins while several staff pooled at the bar. Was kind of weird to not have anyone acknowledge me for that long. Eventually I started making eye contact and trying to catch one of the servers. Eventually someone asked if I'd been helped. They had several cancellations due to the forthcoming inclement weather and I was able to grab a prime table at a prime dinner time, otherwise would rec reserving something before showing up. The atmosphere is cute inside. It isn't basic, or tacky. Kind of cool vibe with faux wall greenery vines all over, dimly lit lighting, ethnic decor etc. Comfortable spot for a date or just a hang with friends. I would say it's family friendly too. The bill came to about 80$ with three appetizers, two entrees, one coffee, one dessert. The entrees has duck and pork added. The duck is a more premium option and I thought there was a generous enough portion offered. There wasn't much pork added to my friend's dish. Sticky mango rice dessert was good and what I would expect! The curries were tasty. They have cocktails here, and offer wine from Paradocx Winery. Be aware the wine is billed separately from the food. The wine was $25/bottle about. I docked two stars for the level of service. We sat at the nice table by the window. Between waiting to be seated/acknowledged for as long as I did with a chatty staff pooling at the bar, to my friend's appetizers being brought out first and me watching him eat and having to flag down someone to check on mine...those things turned me off quite a bit. My favorite item at Tai Me Up is the Khao Soi, they make it perfectly every time. I don't find it's very spicy even when I ask for hot, so maybe get chili paste on the side if you really like spicy. Food recommendations would definitely be kow soi with chicken as number one, then pad see you and drunken noodles. Thai basil is really good too! For apps I love the dumplings and spring rolls. It was definitely drenched in the sriracha mayo - I'm a fan, but it was a little heavyhanded even for me. The spicy tuna tasted fresh, so thumbs up for that. This location has a very fun name, which drew a friend and I to check it out. The interior design lives up to the name, also being really creative. This location might be nice on a date night, it was busy in the evening on the weekend. Thankfully, we didn't have trouble finding a table. However, I found the quality of the food to just be OK for the price, a friend and I had the drunken noodles and the pho. Considering there are lots of Thai restaurants in this area, I think better could be found elsewhere. (eaten and gone before I thought of social media) But I also got the Pinapple Fried Rice w/Shrimp and sighed aloud in joy! *Indoor dining and takeout review* After watching a movie and we're hungry, so we decided to give this restaurant a try. I mean who won't right with that catchy name (Tai Me Up)? Honestly I really wanted to write a great review based on the service experience we had with Dan our waiter, but the food was a bit of a let down. Quick History Lesson for anyone wondering: The restaurant used to be named: Thai Elephant - Before new owner(s) took over with the new name. Restaurant: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Food 1/5 Parking: Street meter parking. -Restaurant- Restaurant itself looks very well decorated, a lot of wall art and tasteful decorations. Ambiance is very relaxed, feels open and comfortable. Lighting is perfect and noise level is minimum (Also depends on how loud the guests are of course, but we had no issues talking in normal tone). Most importantly everything is clean. -Service- Our service experience was great. Our server (Dan) was a delightful individual, very very chill and cheerful, not afraid to crack a joke here and there but not intrusive. At the same time extremely friendly and accommodating. I was telling my girlfriend, it reminds me of when I went to Thailand, how friendly and hospitable the people are over there. -Food- Food is unfortunately where it falls short... What we ordered: -Thai Lettuce Wraps (Delicious in terms of flavor, both noodles and chicken were seasoned very well. And it comes with 3 different sauces you can spread in or dip the wraps into. Only issue is the noodle seemed under cooked and dry at the same time) -Drunken Noodle with Tofu (Although we asked for Medium spicy, it is a bit more spicy than I thought, not fault there. HOWEVER the dish is salty, the flavor is not all there and the portion size is quite small with very little protein. I've had a lot better Drunken noodle elsewhere) -Thai Ginger with Tofu (This had similar issue as Drunken noodle, a bit more spicy than we thought, and EXTREMELY SALTY. Even adding rice to it did not help much. Also the dish was just littered with chopped ginger, I like ginger but not 3 spoon full with that little portion of a dish, I think there might be more ginger than actual Tofu. -To go order: We asked for Shrimp Thai Friend Rice... We probably should have verify before leaving the restaurant, because by the time we got home and opened the container, it turned out to be Chicken Thai Fried Rice. A little disappointing. Since we were 30 minute drive from the restaurant, we decided not to call and make an 1 hour round trip for a fried rice. To sum it up, I didn't feel Tai'd up, and we probably would not go out of our way to visit this restaurant, at least not for the food. read more
