Vegetable green curry at my requested hot 4.5 heat level was quite spicy and abundant with bright fresh crunchy veggies. Drunken noodle was comforting and yummy. It was marked in the menu as spicy but it was not spicy at all, so next time we will kick it up a bit. I always grab take out from this place. Conveniently, you can order online as well. When I walk in it is always quaint and quiet, but nice. Although I have never dined in, I would not be opposed to it. In the foyer area, they also have this amazing smelling candle. Anyway, the food is great. It is delicious and very "clean" tasting. Found this place on a day trip to Chester. Only open recently so no reviews. We lover it! Food was delicious -- service was attentive -- all food cooked to order. Both of us had the $10 lunch special. I had the thai fried rice with chicken -- my wife had the pad thai with shrimp. We both loved our meal. The spring rolls were very good. Only complaint -- my wife's -- was that the tom yum soup was a little too spicy -- I loved it. The only alternative soup was coconut -- should be a third choice. Visited first time for lunch. Greeted cheerfully and seated immediately. Took a while to place order. Took too long to get food. After ordering carefully from the lunch menu to avoid seafood (dislike and allergic) I was dismayed to find a whole shrimp in my Tom Yum soup. Not good. Main course was tasty. Great and fresh good. We had the sampler for our app and it was so good. The sauces that it came with were great. I had beef massaman curry and my friend had sweet and sour chicken, both were on point. Excellent!! I am taking off a star because we sat at the bar and felt like we had to beg for drinks. Also, they only have beer and wine, not a big deal, but it only takes minor effort to fill a wine glass and yet that seemed to be a problem. Prices are great too. My partner and I visited Thai Riverside on a Monday evening, around 8 o'clock. I had seen a few reviews mention that service is slow; of course, we were dining at a pretty off-peak time (there was only one other couple eating dinner inside) but the server was friendly and very prompt, and the food came out quickly and piping hot. My partner ordered the pad see ew and I ordered the tofu pad thai. We are both vegetarian, and they were happy to prepare the dishes meat-free. Both were superb! The pad thai is classic but delicious, sweet, but not overpowering. The bean sprouts and green onions were extremely refreshing and the tofu is substantial and cooked well. The portion of pad thai, specifically, was pretty enormous. Thai Riverside is still BYOB, which only makes the restaurant more of favorite for me. There is a liquor store just across the street. We brought along some beers that probably would have cost triple if ordered from the bar. Because we didn't order appetizers or drinks, our dinner bill was under $25! It's almost obscene how cheap the food is here considering portion size - really affordable, delicious food. read more

Excellent small Thai restaurant in Chester. The pad thai was great. Nice portion of fresh shrimp with it. Also tried the red curry. Nice level of spice and a variety of veggies. My husband and I came here last week and the food was delicious! Big portions and reasonably priced. They also can tailor your "spicy" wants as well. I ordered the lemongrass drunken noodle and asked for the spice to be mild and it was perfect. The only complaint was the service. It was a small place, with only one waitress, but we had to stare her down to get her to take our order, and there was one or two parties in the restaurant with us. We were even more thrilled when we ate there. The staff were so friendly and the food was delicious. High quality, generous portions without being overpriced. My husband and I base our personal review of Thai food based on a restaurant's Pad Thai because that is our favorite dish and their's did not disappoint. We also tried the appetizer sampler and the pad see ew which were also delicious. We have since returned several times and have enjoyed each time. Excellent addition to downtown Chester! Stopped in here for a light dinner with my parents and was very satisfied! Since they're in the process of applying for a liquor license they are currently operating with BYOB protocol - which I am a big fan of! I have eaten here a half dozen times. It has gotten consistently worse since it opened, despite the fact they now have an alcohol license and a good selection of beer. Thai food is one of the family favorites ! Thai Riverside has some of the best Thai food we have had in the state of Connecticut. The best part is it is located the next town over as we are from Deep River, no more Middletown, West Hartford or all the other places all over the state.
