Crispy tofu, satay chicken, and spring rolls
Golds V.

Amazing food. I was quite surprised to see how big the portions were at this restaurant to start, but the quality of the food is what was really impressive. We had three apps. The tofu was my favourite! It came with peanut sauce, so did the chicken satay. The tofu was firm, and fried to a perfect crispy texture and the flavour was on point!. The spring rolls were meh... this item I would probably not order again. We also ordered the Malaysian curry, and it was so authentic tasting. Like I was in Malaysia eating this. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The place is clean and inviting. The noise level was good, you can actually enjoy your meal and have good conversation. I can't wait to go back here!

Recently, I have been on a quest to find a decent Thai place close to home. The ones near me aren't great, so I threw out the distance criterion. A couple of Sundays ago, I was browsing my Uber Eats app and found a deal on pad thai at Thai Room. You buy one and get one for free. I was running errands and needed some lunch. I placed an order for pickup and took my time driving over here. My order took twenty minutes to prepare. I used to spend a lot of time in this area of Scarborough, as I used to work up the road from here. Thai Room comprises a group of three eateries in a building. Next to Thai Room is Freshii, which I have dropped by in the past. Starbucks is on the other side of Freshii, which used to be Licks. The drive-thru still looks the same. I found a parking spot fairly close to Thai Room. I backed into a spot and walked in. A woman at the counter in the back said hi. I reciprocated and indicated that I had an Uber Eats order. She reached for it, handed it over to me, and hoped that I'd enjoy it. I thanked her and happily walked to my car. The plaza looks sad compared to how I remember it. I hope that more stores set up shop. Montana's is still closed after shuttering several years ago. Thankfully, Winners is still alive and kicking. I drove home and had a late lunch. I ordered the following items: - Vegetable spring rolls (BOGO for a grand total of four) - Thai Room's famous pad thai with chicken (BOGO) I started with the spring rolls. They were nicely stuffed with veggies and vermicelli noodles. They were crispy. The dipping sauce was nice. Not too sweet. Not boring. Just right. Each portion of pad thai was huge. It took me a few days to eat it all. The flavours were decent. I loved the tanginess of the tamarind that made up the sauce. The green onions were great. I loved the noodles. The chicken was white meat and was tender. This dish was still hot when I got home. I want to get some curry next time, which is typically what I order from a Thai eatery. I also saw chilli chicken on the menu. I'm curious to try it, even though it seems like it doesn't belong on a Thai menu. This place serves solid Thai food. I'll be back. I'm good driving over to my old stomping grounds for good Thai grub. (435)

Food is delicious. Services are fast and good. The room is not spacious but it's okay.

Thai Room is a decent choice for flavour packed classic Thai and Malaysian style dishes. With lots of locations across the city they're easy to find and they're on SkipTheDishes, UberEats and DoorDash. Our family's go to order is pad thai but this time we opted for Malay Curry Beef with rice and Stir fried glass noodles* with chicken. Everyone was happy with the order.

Came here to try out the food. We ordered the garlic pepper lamb and curry pad thai chicken. Both were served fresh and hot. The place was quite noisy as there was a birthday party going on. The server was nice and offered recommendations on the menu. I had a Yelp 10% off offer and was able to redeem it. I got a littled turned off by the automatic 15% gratuity added to my bill. Maybe this was to offset the 10% off discount. For some people who don't look at the bill you might end up tipping twice. Food was delicious but I didn't feel the Thai vibe with the food. Felt more like a Hakka Indian style cuisine but branded as Thai.

The chili chicken was spicy, I like that it came with so many veggies there was a good amount of broccoli and peppers. The food was ready fairly quickly.

The place looks amazing and super fancy. Considering there's Starbucks right beside.

The service was good, the ambiance was good, actually really fancy compared to where it is. BUT HOLYSHIT the food is baddddd. I only review for food, this place could have the worst ambience, and the worst service and if the foods good, I'll go back. I ordered and then decided to look up reviews at the restaurant and realized that one of the reviews said that there's ketchup in the Pad Thai. I only wanted pad Thai, and considering this place is called Thai Room they should have that nailed. Nope ketchup definitely with some sour sauce. Jatujak is the standard and excellent choice. But if you don't mind a tasting like ketchup, and the portions are pretty big. Then it's all right. 17.71 after taxes for chicken pad Thai

Scummy Uber eats sales technique. They put fried rice for 16.99 and say buy one get one free. But if you click on it, to buy the fried rice, you have to choose either veggie, chicken or beef. You can't skip this and if you choose veggie, it's +3, chicken is +4, and beef is +5. So really you're paying around 22/23 dollars which is the exact cost for two fried rice. These people are scum.

I'm not sure why I didn't expect much from Thai Room. Maybe because of its location in a mostly industrial area? Needless to say, my expectations were exceeded. I dropped in for a late lunch with a friend who works nearby. The lighting and decor were nicer than I expected. I have no idea where my perceptions came from. We ordered Spicy Noodles with Chicken and Malay Beef Curry. The servings were quite generous, especially for the price. Both dishes tasted very good but the beef could have been a little more tender. Overall, this was a great value for good tasting food. I would definitely come back!

I was told by the manager the menu has always been 100% halal. Meat is from Sargent Farms. It even says its halal on the takeout menu. We ordered the pad thai, beef malay curry, "Thai Room Fried Rice", coconut mango chicken and chicken satay The beef malay curry was sooooo flavourful. Packed a punch! I would recommend it if u want to try something that feels like a cross between Thai peanut Curry and an Indian curry. The thai-room friend rice, as its called, is good too. They need to work on their recipe for the peanut sauce tho. Could be more authentic. Was a bit too chunky. Pad thai could also be more balanced with sweet salty and sour. Beware some of the dishes are a bit oily but u can ask em to cut back on the oil when u order. The interior design is very nice if u wanna dine-in. Lots of parking.

My sister wanted Thai food, so we went and ordered the dinner for 4 meal. The food is so so, I enjoyed the curry but other than that it's average. I believe they also did not give me an extra side of spring rolls for pick up orders over $35 as mentioned in the menu as well. The spring rolls in my photos are from my dinner for 4 meal.

Food is fantastic and portions are big. No MSG and the food is always fresh to order. Would recommend the calamari, Thai hot and sour soup and chilli beef.

This review is based on their Lunch Specials. Service is fast and efficient! Great for lunch especially if you are in a rush. Pricing is on the pricier side from $8.99 and up. Food is not authentic Thai but something with a Hakka/Indian twist. Can be a little heavy and fulfilling. That might be good for some? I did enjoy my Thai Basil Chicken ($9.99), requested extra spicy. Not a bad choice if you know what you are getting into. Probably will come back for lunch again.

The grapfruit bitters rounded out the sweetness of the Chambord and the sourness of the lemon. We decided to order another cocktail each just as our food arrived. I had the I Have a Lychee Secret. It was a little on the sweet side, but was very yummy. I loved the black pepper on top but didn't really taste much cilantro. My husband had La Passionista which was great. It was so well-balanced and flavourful. The dumplings were AMAZING! The butterly pea infused tapioca gave the perfect bouncy, chewy texture to the outside and the mushroom and radish centres were so tasty. Our waitress explained that they should be eaten in a lettuce cup with cilantro, mint and peanuts. YUM! Such a flavour bomb. The only thing I would have changed would be to add some sort of a spicy, salty, sour dipping sauce like a nuoc cham. The green papaya fritters were also just fantastic. They were crispy, crunchy and the dipping sauce was a little spicy and sweet. All in all, we really enjoyed our meal and would 100% return. I have already reccomended them to others.
