I have been to Thai Ruby a few times and it is your normal Thai place. Service is ok there and the food is good. Nothing over the top but good Thai food. The staff seem to change alot there. I always play it safe and order the Red Curry with chicken which comes on a boat looking dish and it is always really good. This visit i ordered the Ruby wrap for an appetizer and it was ok also. The best Thai food I have had in the FM/Lewisvile area. O have been about 7 or 8 times either dining in or to-go. My go to dishes are the red curry, pad-ke-mow and tom kha soup at any Thai place. Pretty useless for lunch. DO NOT order curry off the lunch menu. You eat about 3 ounces of lukewarm curry in he bottom of a plate with all the stuff that should be in a bowlful of curry. Might have been good if there had been a decent amount of curry in a bowl. My fault. Guess I should have known that the lunch curry was like that. Since I work in the area & I LOVE Thai food, I come here every so often. The past two times, I came in the evening - my food was wonderful and my service was great. Today, I came right after the lunch rush and the food was burnt & the service was "JUST ENOUGH." The server, Nikki, did JUST ENOUGH to get by with my service. Because it was after the lunch rush, there weren't as many people. She wasn't friendly, didn't smile, and when she'd come by my table to give me something, it was LITERALLY dropped on the table and she walked off. It just gave me the feeling that she had an attitude problem with me...and I don't recall speaking to her in a rude manner at all. I observed her with other tables and she seemed nicer to them. I was dining by myself & I would think that when you're by yourself, the servers try and be more attentive to you. At least that's how it was when I worked at California Pizza Kitchen. When my food first came out, it wasn't what I expected. I ordered a pad see ew, which is normally a bit sweeter than the other traditional Thai dishes. This one tasted burnt and bland. When I told the owner, Nikki comes up to the table (first time I saw her since my main dish came out) & I explain to the both of them that my food wasn't very good and why. They were both nice enough to remake it for me, so that was very great. The second time, my food was perfect. It was the traditional Thai dish that I love. I think I'll stick to coming in during the evenings next time I come here. read more

Went for lunch. This resturant is beautifully decorated, lights are dimmed, the wood trim is more like art, it's really the perfect setting. Spring roll and the soup were great. Ordered the pad soon sen at spicy level 3. The texture and taste was perfect. Leaving a star off because of the spicy level, 3 is normally a medium to hot was more like a Thai spicy level 5. I ate it and still enjoyed it but I did struggle. Will go back and get spicy level 1. read more

Amazing red curry (best I've had, and I live up in Boston!) and the staff, from when I remember about a year ago, was awesome as well. We had a nice lunch here. I had hot pepper shrimp with hot sauce and it was very good (and spicy). Vegetables were fresh and shrimp was cooked just right. The vegetable soup appetizer and spring roll was a nice touch. Only reason for 4 stars was because it took about 25 minutes to get our lunch, which seemed long, but we were pleased after the wait. We haven't been there in a while and on Friday we decided to order from what was one of our favorite places for Thai food in flower mound. I'm not sure if the cook changed but they absolutely dropped the ball on our pick up order. I ordered the chicken garlic and black pepper and my husband got the spicy basil rice. Neither dishes had any flavor to them. Mine had no black pepper and all garlic. The chicken was unseasoned and the veggies weren't cut correctly. I got stems in multiple bites. My husband's dish was lacking flavor and he barely had two bites out of it. Not sure what happened to this restaurant but definitely needs a lot of work and improvement. read more

Absolutely the worst waitress I ever had at any restaurant. I get better service from in and out burger or even Taco Bell. Ridiculous...most expensive ice I've ever bought Avoid this place just for the fact that they rip you off on a wine corking fee because they are to cheap to apply or can't get a liquor license. My mother in law wanted to go to a Thai food restaurant for her birthday so we checked out Yelp for the best reviews. We noticed that Thai Ruby had 4 stars, so we decided to check it out. The first thing I noticed was the atmosphere and the nice décor. It wasn't too fancy, but unique. We placed our order for the Thai Ruby appetizer sampler to share and a huge bowl of Tom Ka soup. Everyone thought the appetizers and soup were delicious! We placed our entre orders and shared with each other to taste each dish. I got the Red Curry chicken (which everyone should try) it was SO good! My sister in law got the Amazing Peanut beef (I've never tasted peanut sauce that good!) My mother in law got the Green Curry shrimp (delish!) and my husband got the Gai Pad Prig (extremely delicious!) As if the taste of each dish wasn't enough, the presentation of each dish was beautiful with carved flower carrots. I highly recommend the Thai Ruby, it's fantastic! read more

Nice quiet restaurant for a date night. I did enjoy my visit there, however there was a rather noisy work lunch taking place there. Definitely not the place to joke around with your coworkers on a lunch break, not the appropriate atmosphere. I am not huge on Thai food but absolutely loved their chicken & peanut sauce. Husband didn't enjoy too much due to the fact that their four star spice wasn't really all that spicy, he had to ask for more. Prices aren't crazy expensive, but a little on the pricier side and it is rather slow service. We weren't in a rush or starving so we didn't mind, but if you are in a hurry, this isn't the place to drop in. read more

Yuck. Plates didn't look clean. Waiter dropped straw on the floor and picked it up and set it on our table to still use. I ordered the Pad Thai. Immediately I noticed a strange smell coming from the dish. Very small serving and I could decipher from the noodles, sprouts, egg and green onion. Everything was a pile of mush cooked to the same consistency. No spice, no real flavor other than peanut sauce. My coworker order the Basil Fried Rice. It was supposed to be spicy, yet wasn't. Very small portion with little rice and huge vegetables. Not impressed with anything. Lighting was tragic. Could hardly see the menu. Made me think of something the mafia would own. I really like this place. Would I drive across town for it? Probably not, but it is some of the best food in my neighborhood. I really like the yellow curry dishes (numerous variations) but Pad Thai is good too. Actually, I haven't had anything that I wouldn't order again. My best friend, René, and I ate at this restaurant twice while in Flower Mound and loved it both times. The atmosphere is cozy...romantic even... and the waitstaff very courteous. This is a very casual restaurant, inexpensive and it has a bar, although neither of us are more than light drinkers. René had a service dog with him and the manager was friendly and accommodating. He seated us in a far corner away from the rest of the restaurant patrons, which was perfect because that was what we preferred anyway. The food there is nice...light, spicy and delicious. We had the salad rolls both times. I would have enjoyed them more if they had been made of a darker green lettuce, but they were good...tofu in the middle, traditional peanut sauce. I am a vegetarian and asked the waiter to ask the cook to make his choice for me. It was a nice array of spicy sauteed vegetables cooked to perfection and served with various condiments. Quite delicious. René had the Tom Yum (hot coconut) soup both times that we went. We shared it, and it, too, was very delicious. He wanted dessert the first time we went and had the coconut ice cream. He shared it. It was good. We had a lot of food! I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for families with children, although I'm sure they are welcoming toward them. First time here and thoroughly enjoyed the food, very clean and fresh flavors. The sauces felt healthy and not over powering the dish. Soup and Egg roll were great. My 14 year old commented on how good everything was. Service was a little slow but the food and atmosphere made up for it. Very cozy authentic Thai set up. One suggestion is to put paper towels in the restrooms since the air dryer in there seems ancient and takes forever to dry your hands. read more
