Then we had the pineapple chicken fried rice, which was outstanding: fresh, well-balanced, and packed with flavor without being greasy or heavy. I ordered the sweet and sour lunch. First off we order online for pick up @ 11:05 am. Once the order was confirmed by email there was a 25 - 50 minute wait. Then there was another email saying the order was ready for pick up from 12:09-12:24. What does that even mean? I didn't want to pick up too soon and half to wait, but I didn't want my food to just be sitting around for 20+ minutes either. You would think we'd be notified WHEN IT WAS READY FOR PICKUP. I called after the second email and she said "oh, yes, your order ready now". What? Now for the food, the portion size was great and there was a surprise eggroll for free. I ordered online for pickup, the estimate said 30-45 minutes but I went after about 20 mins and it was already ready. It would be nice to get an SMS text when it's ready. I tried the salad roll appetizers, I liked it! The sauce was good but I would have preferred a thicker peanut sauce myself. I also bought the yellow curry with tofu and brown rice. I hadn't tried this restaurant before so I wasn't sure how spicy the dishes were. I ordered with spice level hot which was fine. Good flavor and not spicy enough to make me sweat. The portion size was fine for me, I had enough leftovers for another meal. They did include plastic utensils but it would be nice if they can include napkins. I ended up eating in the car and spilled some of the curry and didn't have any napkins. It was a decent meal, not the best Thai curry I've had but I'm glad they have many vegetarian options on their menu. It was easy to order and they were courteous when I picked up my order. read more

Let me preface this by saying that I've ordered from here before, both as takeout and sit in. Today, I placed an order through UberEats while attending my LAST night of studying at TWU and was craving some spicy level 3 Green Curry with extra chicken and brown rice (which is bomb.com AWESOME!). So, I placed my order and am so excited that I will no longer being spending late nights away from my 3 1/2 year old and husband (I am a commuter student as well!), that I placed a note in the note box saying such and that I am walking for the graduation ceremony on Friday. Was in Denton and thought I'd find a Thai place to eat. I found this place and was hoping for Pas See Ew, pad Thai or spicy basil fried rice. Well their spicy fried rice had no basil and there wasn't pad see ew on the menu per say, but something described that was similar. So I stuck to the pad Thai lunch special. The soup that came with it was delicious. I hate crab wontons (I don't believe they even use cream cheese in Thailand) so I've always had an aversion to this wonton but I ate it anyways and they did not change my mind. When my pad Thai came out, I saw right away it was more of a brown color instead of an orange color. I let the waitress know that it didn't taste like pad Thai but more of a Lard Na flavor. And the color was off. She didn't seem to care or asked me if I preferred something else. Instead she walked over to the white man at another table and asked him loud enough for me to hear, how his pad Thai was. He said it was good. Well, I'm southeast Asian (half Lao) and grew up in San Diego, I think I know what pad Thai should look and taste like. When asked how everything was I replied I would not be back because of these ridiculous little sizes which of course the server has no control over but really the owner needs to change. I didn't want to eat the rice but ended up doing so otherwise I would be hungry for the rest of the day. The only entree not obscenely small was the chicken salad but really chopped iceberg and chicken so fairly cheap ingredients, am I right? Mine was Tofu in a green curry because I enjoy eggplant but not because of tofu per say but trying to be more health conscious. Not only was the eggplant hard and sliced to resemble mushrooms, the tofu was breaded, ugh! So worst of worlds. This is a place I have been meaning to check out for a while. This was a to go order, so this review is on the food only and on one visit. Service normally plays a part in my reviews and ratings, but I can only talk about the taste and the value here. The first thing I noticed when looking at the online menu is that the prices are pretty high in my opinion. This is especially odd to me as there are a lot of Thai places in town. Due to the prices, I decided to stick with trying appetizers to see if I liked it before shelling out $17 for a duck entrée. My overall reaction is: Hey, not bad at all! Which is true, it's not bad at all. I enjoyed trying it out, but at these prices I expected: Wow, delicious! I ordered both the steamed and fried rice ($2 and $2.50 respectively) and both had a good cook and good texture. On the other hand the Heavenly Beef ($6.99) and Shrimp Cakes ($6.95) had great flavor, but some texture issues. When I saw the Lotus Cups for $5.45, I thought this was a rip off. I get and appreciate that they packaged it all separately for the to go order, it wasn't about presentation. There were only 7! Jeez! However, this was the best dish I had. The cups had the perfect crisp and density to hold everything- didn't get soggy and wasn't too hard to eat. The flavor of the sautéed ground chicken and mixed veggies was awesome and this ended up being the winner for me. I thought the corn fit in surprisingly nicely with the rest of the dish and this is the one thing I would order again. The Heavenly Beef is basically beef jerky- deep fried and marinated in their special seasoning with swet and sour sauce. The sauce was pretty good on it's own (since they originally mxied up the sauces in the container and I tried it with the shrimp cakes) and a good accompaniment, it wasn't too sweet or too sour so I was surprised it worked so well. I found it pretty tough and had to chew it a really long time, so that aspect was kind of a let down. The flavor was multi dimensional though and if they tweaked the texture or cook time, I would order this again. The Shrimp Cakes were four fried shrimp patties with plum sauce. The sauce was very fragrant and smelled like plum, but was kind of watery so I didn't get the plum flavor when I dipped it, it was very faint. These were kind of rubbery and chewy though and I'm a big texture person, so I probably wouldn't try these again. The rice portions are the only thing they weren't stingy with, but those are pretty pricey too compared to other places. In the end, I think that is what it is coming down to for me. There's a lot of competition and they are expensive in comparison, I eat at a lot of other Thai places and spend the same for more food. Would I try this place again? Yeah, I thought it was pretty good overall, and maybe worth trying an entrée next time. However, I don't put overpriced places in my regular rotation unless they just blow me away on quality. I will make sure I dine in next time as their service may really influence me. read more

This place is hidden in the shopping center. Happen to stumble upon during a drive and getting lost. I then left it on my to visit places. A few days ago, I decided to go eat there. I went around 17:00 hours (5:00 PM) and was greeted with an empty place but a friendly waiter. I was seated and noticed that the place mats were laminated. I considered this a great idea, if I were at home, not in a restaurant. I ordered the egg rolls and Penang curry at level five. The curry was great tasting but not as spicy as I thought five would be. Apparently it goes beyond 5 but I was ignorant of the mentioning. The egg rolls are advertised as spring rolls, which can be a little misleading. The food overall isn't something I would go crazy over but it is good enough.
