I placed a to go order over the phone, first, they made me feel rushed by saying they were closing in less than 20mins & they'd have it ready to be picked up in 5mins......No worries, I'm at most, 10 mins away but if it's too late I'll go elsewhere, they said no, we will have it ready. How did I miss this diamond in the rough?! This place had great atmosphere. Really cute, quiet, and quaint. Thai Decor is simple And very elegant. Real cloth napkins. Very classy and yet affordable. The waiter was extremely helpful I haven't had Thai food often so I can't compare very well but it was fresh and very delicious. The appetizer was quick and they had the cutest three jar spice rack but the main course took a little bit longer than expected. Maybe I was just hungry! The portions were perfect sizes. I feel sorry for people who think this is authentic thai food. People of Flower Mound- you are so deprived of real asian food....I feel so much pity..... I just moved to the area from California and wanted to try something nearby in my new suburb. Found this place through yelp. I was skeptical but decided to give it a chance. Ordered the pad thai, sweet and sour chicken, larb gai, and mango sticky rice. No, no, and no... Pad thai tasted so plain, no flavor. It's like they missed the tamarind and fish sauce (the main ingredients of pad thai). I added a shit load of hot sauce for flavor. It didnt do anything helpful besides make it spicy. Sweet and sour chicken was clearly sauteed with frozen veggies. And again not enough flavor, plain. Mango sticky rice also had no flavor.. mangos were not sweet..Rice wasn't sweet enough.. it just wasn't sweet. Again, too plain. I spent $40 bucks. I was so disappointed that I only took a few bites and threw everything away. Anyway, I wish places like this stuck to their real flavor profiles. It was clear to me that they adjusted their taste for their audience. But god, there was so much missing from a true thai dish... How sad. Papaya salad was 95% lettuce and tomatoes. The sticky rice in the mango sticky rice was not cooked all the way. But hey the rice ($2 a cup!?) comes heart shaped. My go to place when I have an Asian food craving, I've tried their pad Thai and yellow curry, and they were both so good!! They give you more than enough for a dinner portion, so it's perfect to have for lunch the next day. I always place to go orders and they have my food out in 5 mins when they say it could take 15, which is great!! It's yummy and quick and a perfect way to satisfy a craving. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars from me is because I think the prices are a little steep. In my opinion, dinner to go should be no more than $12 at most, and there's range from $14.99 to $16.99, so be aware of the menu prices!! Other than that, I absolutely love their food!! read more

Went for lunch. It was not crowded. The place is a little dark inside. I wondered if it was even open when we drove up. The music was a good volume so we could have a business discussion. The food was good. I had the panang curry and my coworker had the fried rice. We both agreed it was a 4-star place. It wasn't the best panang curry I've ever had and I prefer my rice not to be on the place but in a side bowl and I also prefer to scoop the panang curry out of a bowl. Both were on the plate together and the panang didn't have as much sauce as I would have liked. The salad I ordered had a peanut dressing which was good but really sweet. I'd get this on the side next time. One nice thing that I've never had before is they will bring out a spice selection for you with different options. read more

The few times I've been here, there hasn't been much of a crowd, so it's really quiet. I'm not too adventurous yet when it comes to Asian restaurants, but I've had a couple of the different curries and they've all been great. Ordered Thai Hot, the green curry is really hot without being unbearable or bad-tasting. It's a very flavorful heat that builds and builds without actually hurting your tongue. They have a decent dessert menu. The lychee berries kind of freaked me out (I'm reminded of eating raw flesh) but they're tasty, and the coconut icecream was really good. Lunch is around $7.50 or so. I think they've got prices on their website. They're completely reasonable. So if you're looking for decent food in the area, I highly recommend this place. read more

I am little disappointed with this place but before I start to moan and groan about the food, this place has great aesthetics which contribute to the cozy atmosphere. Oh, and service is great too! Now, every time the hubster and I try a new Thai restaurant we always try to get pad thai, pad kee mow and thai ice tea as a way to gauge the quality of food to our liking (yeah, we are food snobs like that) :p Well as you can guess, the pad thai noodles were rather sticky and hard to chew. The flavor was basically pretty sweet. Moving on, the pad kee mow was pretty sad. It lacked the basil flavor and kick of spiciness in it (may be partly my fault for hurrying the waitress and she forgot to ask the level of desired spiciness) The texture of the noodles didn't feel that great either. It felt thin and limp. Anyways, portion was pretty small considering the big price tag! If we went to our favorite place in Denton, we would have paid like 10 bucks less! I think this place is all about the ambiance. If you are not picky about the food, it's a great date place with a small wine selection. I love Thai food. I live in the bay area now, but I spent a prolonged period of time (2 months) at home studying for the medical board exam. This place was my Thai haven. I absolutely love the decor - when you enter, it's like you've been transported somewhere else. Everything from the chairs to the art all create an amazing ambience. I took my mom, and she fell in love too. The food is good, and the price is right for Thai. Of course, I may be biased because it's better priced than the bay area Thai places I go to. The pad thai was delicious, as was the panang curry. The portions are filling, and everything tastes fresh. The service was pretty much on par with any other Thai place I've eaten. This is Flower Mound cuisine that makes me glad that I am local! I never would have thought that I'd find one of my favorite restaurants in my own backyard. A friend invited my family to dine at this place almost a year after it had opened. I thought, "How could Flower Mound produce good Thai food?" As I walked in I was even more underwhelmed: odd decor, small area, and no one there. My expectations were quite low, but then the food arrived. The Thai Tea was incredible and rich. So good that I often go by and get some to go! We each ordered a soup, and a curry or Pad Thai. That was WAY too much food for us, but it was excellent! I was visiting family and they suggested Thai Ruby for dinner one night. My bf and I came here 3 times during our trip it was THAT good. We ate-in once, it wasn't very busy and our food came in a timely manner. The two times we ordered for take-out it was pretty crowded, so know this place does get VERY busy. I got the red curry which was consistently great every time. My bf got some type of basil rice, and also pineapple rice. When you walk in, you are taken by a nice surprise because the inside is very decorative and calm with low lighting. Very representative of traditional Hindu decor. We started out with the tom kha soup and it was possibly and very likely the best tom kha I have ever had. I've had a lot of tom kha in my day. I got a rice noodle dish stir fry with tofu and my boyfriend got the yellow curry. Both were fantastic. Perfect amount of coconut and spices, not overly salty like a lot of other Thai places. People give this place a bad review because they are lazy Americans and do not know good Thai food. The minute they don't get waited on hand-and-foot like servant to king style, they complain. The only complaints I have are: 1) They do not give you the dipping sauce w the to go eggroll like other places do, they used to idk why they stopped... 2) They put everything in tin foil which nakes warm up nearly impossible. 3) their system of "spice" does not exist. Ive gone as far to order "thai hot" & it was still what I would consider mild. But other than that, I've never tried anything bad!!! their pad kee mow is outta this world!!!! Thai Ruby is a hit or miss kind of place. I got a macrobiotic dish, which is just veggies, and some rice, it was bland. The reason it's a miss is because it was $13.00. It was not worth the money at all. My husband got the pad thai, which I had some and it was great! The service isn't that great. The girl who was serving us, tried to do as little as possible. I asked her for a paper napkin, which apparently they don't have, but she wouldn't even bother to check one more time. This isn't the greatest Thai place in the world, but it's not terrible. However we ate there one night just my husband and I and there was a party of 6 sitting not far from us (small restaurant) They obviously had been at the restaurant for a while drinking and their conversations were so loud that I could not hear in order to have a conversation with my husband. Their conversations were not only loud but inappropriate as well (foul language, vulgar, and extremely loud). Several people complained as well as my husband and we were told the manager of the restaurant just went home for the night and there was nothing that could be done with the loud party of 6. Considered take out but did not want my food to be cold. I love the food but can say after being a repeat customer for a very long time I won't be back. My suggestion next time would to be ask the drunk party to either take their party elsewhere or lower their voices. Went here for the first time today with my husband. We started with a few orders of egg rolls and they were delicious!! We both tried the Garlic and Black Pepper with beef lunch special. It came with chicken rice soup or salad and a small egg roll. We both thought the soup was really yummy!! The Garlic and Black Pepper entree with rice was also fantastic!! As I said before, I only come here because my wife loves Thai food and it's close to where we live. I will not be returning. I do not spend money to get aggravated. I always leave here pissed. The service is terrible and the food is mediocre. The waiter ask how the food was and we told him that the larb was too salty. He said "oh" and walked away. Why ask if you're not going to do anything when there's a problem? And they put a 20% grat on the ticket for horrendous service. There was 5 people. I usually give between 20-25% but this is not worthy. This is the same waiter that annoyed me last time. Last time, I asked about the level of spiciness for the Tom Kha. He said there was medium, hot and Thai hot. So I asked for it "hot". He asked if I meant temperature hot. Seriously, look at the context of the conversation. And Thai Ruby is very expensive. $18 plus tax for a pineapple fried rice with shrimp and beef. Won't RTE. I'll drive my wife to Plano, Denton or Addison next time she wants Thai. read more
