We stopped in while traveling to Lake Taylorsville for camping. Service was quick and prompt. The food was priced well and pretty tasty. Everything is served in plastic to-go containers (maybe that is more economical than washing dishes during the lunch rush). There were many local patrons - we chatted with a few over lunch. Nice to know it's a mainstay for people in the community. The server or owner seemed to know the clientele and so the atmosphere was very welcoming. I love Thai food - no complaints from me!

Eggroll. (May, 2023. $2.50).

We visited Thai Smile for lunch upon the recommendation of a Thai employee at another shop in Frankfort. The restaurant was hidden from street view in a strip mall that had a lot of empty shops. Yet, there were many patrons going into Thai Smile for lunch or to pick up takeout orders. The restaurant had a take-out feel, even for sit-down diners. There was a relatively small dining area with small tables -- and a large rectangular table along the entrance way with iced tea canisters, napkins, and cutlery. We were greeted quickly, and offered a table. Our server, a bundle of energy, took our drink order quickly. I ordered a Thai Iced Tea ($3.95). We ordered two entrees -- my husband's go-to in Thai restaurants, Pad Thai with Chicken ($10) and Panang Curry with Chicken ($10). Seeing that the latter would be served only with peas and carrots, I also ordered a side dish of snow peas ($2). The waiter up-sold us with an order of the "best eggroll in Frankfort." ($2.50). You can choose the hotness level that you prefer, for your entrees, from 1- to 4-star. We ordered 2-star for both dishes. Our total bill came to $30.16, with tax but before tip. Interestingly, all appetizers on the menu are $2.50 and all entrees are $10.00. The food was delivered quickly and hot. All were served in plastic containers with lids that could also serve as take out containers. Overall, the food tasted good but was not exceptional. Our main comment is that the dishes lacked add-ins (especially vegetables). The Pad Thai was primarily noodles, with some chicken and a small number of fried tofu pieces and some peanut garnish. We don't recall having seen any bean sprouts or egg, as advertised. The soupy Panang curry in coconut milk was served with peas and carrots, as advertised, plus the add-on of snow peas that I had ordered extra. This was served with a bowl of white rice. The egg roll order was a single egg roll that was mainly filled with cabbage. (I can't say whether this is the best eggroll in Frankfort but it certainly wasn't the best that we've had). With respect to spiciness, 2-star has slightly more chili peppers than our preferences (even for my Indian-origin husband) but it wasn't too hot that we couldn't eat it. We need to remind ourselves that one-star is probably sufficient for future orders. We can always add more chilis but can't take them away. This restaurant is a good value. We were only able to finish about half of our food while in the restaurant so we had take-out meals to enjoy later. (We added more vegetables!) Also, our server was highly efficient. We note his friendly banter with the large group next to us. We would return to this restaurant if we were to return to Frankfort. Quantities.

Fast friendly service. They run a well-oiled machine there during lunch to take full advantage of the limited seating space. Overall, my food was good. Not noteworthy Thai but enjoyable and I recommend others give them a try. If in the area, I would return.

Thai Smile is our go-to when in Frankfort. The food is always good. Our son likes the frozen chicken fried rice we can get for home as well.

Ask the Community - Thai Smile

Drove by and did not see them, are they closed?

They are closed everyday between around 2:30-4:30. Closed for most if not all holidays. And they often go on 1-2 week vacations where the restaurant is closed during that time period.

Do you have outdoor seating? We are traveling with our dog. Thanks!

They do not outdoor seating.

My food arrived quickly, even though you could tell it had just been prepared. I ordered the papaya salad and the tom kha chicken soup, both at spice level 3. The spice level was perfect, with just enough heat to enhance the flavors without overpowering the dishes. The papaya salad was crisp, refreshing, and full of vibrant flavor, while the tom kha chicken soup was rich, creamy, hearty, and absolutely delicious. The portions were generous enough that I had leftovers, which I shared with my husband for dinner later that evening, and they were just as tasty the second time around. The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. There is also plenty of space for groups to enjoy their meals inside. It is very clean and welcoming. If you're looking for authentic, fresh Thai food with excellent service and generous portions, I highly recommend Thai House. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

The star of the dinner were the two main dishes- Pad Ginger and Pad Woon Sen. Both dishes had an abundance of perfectly cooked vegetables! I will be a regular customer! Our first visit was absolutely great! Lovely and clean place…read more Customer service was wonderful. Our waitress checked with us frequently and made sure our glasses were full and that our food was good. It was absolutely delicious! My friends really enjoyed their drunken noodles and my pineapple fried rice chicken was great. Very flavorful and the proper texture. The rice was not too dry/overcooked as at other places. The portions were very generous. We all took home leftovers to savor later. So, it really is very reasonably priced also!

I usually don't "come heavy" on a first time review, but this needs to be said:…read more Good food isn't enough for a high rating. Service & integrity is half the process. The food last night was quality; the pad thai, jalapeño beef, spring rolls, shrimp fried rice, etc ... all kicked ass & we took home plenty of Sunday dinner/Saturday leftovers. So here's my 'suggestion/watch out' negative to all who read this - 8 minutes to serve the apps - not bad. But then nothing from a waitress with 2 tables who were already eating. We were her only other table. The apps were followed by 35 min to deliver 6 plates of rice & noodles ... that's unacceptable. I suggest your staff be trained better, & that the owner/manager (she was there) help out when a table is ignored like we were. There were 4 2-tops and a 3-top when we arrived, and one 3-top came in after us. We waited until after the dinner rush for a reason. So. That's my suggestion. Service speed & pacing is half the tip, if not more. Now ... (clears throat) ... here's my 'watch out' - the server handed me a bill with a 20% gratuity already on the bill; and the tax was generated ON THE TOTAL WITH THAT TIP!! No notice on the menu or anywhere about large parties & automatic tip policy. Nothing. And 2 adults + 4 kids (ages 6-12) with no high chairs ... that's not a large party anywhere I've heard. Now back to the overcharge ... that's a violation worthy of mention to y'all Yelpers, & to the licensure offices in Louisville city & Jefferson County. If this business has done this previously & kept that excess tax ... that's a federal violation that can shut a restaurant forever. Now ... I don't like reporting small businesses in general nor will I report them for this tactic. But Yelpers need to know, & watch for this. This nonsense has to stop, and no amount of good food makes up for these abuses. It happens often. Be aware. Aftermath: the boss removed the gratuity when I told her what happened. She was nervous as hell (as she should've been). Her reaction gave me the feeling that either she had knowledge of this practice OR she realized her server had put her business in peril ... but she was REALLY edgy & apologetic afterwards. With all if this, I didn't use it as an excuse to NOT tip. I waited & bartended for over 20 years myself. I left 15%, which is very kind considering what they tried to pull off. But the food was excellent. I took no photos. The rooms are fairly industrial park & not much in the way of stylish. I don't count that off on the gratuity or blame employees. The boss makes that choice. She needs to address placing boxes in aisles & cleaning products here & there; it makes for less than pleasing ambiance in any eatery. I'm tempted to avoid this place, but in a week or so, I intend to go back and let the boss read this (if they don't see it sooner) and tell me what's what. I'm open to correction, so is anyone... or any business. Maybe we'll shake hands & I'll leave with a bag full of food. After all... it was good the first time, and I'm a fat bastard. I need my carbs! So ... if you read this far ... God bless you. See you next rant...
