    Hot basil with Chicken

I have been in Hamden in 2018 and 2019 moved to New Haven. I never try this restaurant before. But today I went to Hamden again with my friend and she took me visit at this place. I ordered Hot Basil Leaf with Chicken and extra pay more for fried egg. They serve with "Nampla Plik" fish sauce with fresh chilies very good. I loved it. And Thai crab Rangoon very juicy different from other restaurant you have to try it.

I'm a huge fan of Pad Thai but wanted to try something different. Never had Pad See Ew before but it was very good. I would consider it a thicker noodle than Pad Thai. The Thai Rolls were nice and crispy. If you're shopping in Hamden Plaza and get hungry, you should stop here.

Ok delivery Thai food. Thai Awesome is a MUCH better option if you are willing to pick it up yourself. Doesn't even compare.

Shhh, don't tell anyone!…read more But also tell everyone you know! Let it Be is a chic, cozy little hole in the wall spot on Dixwell which although you can easily miss, you won't want to because it's a legend of a Thai restaurant. AMBIANCE - 8/10 When you walk inside, you're greeted by a familiar friendly smile (? one of the owners) before being seated amongst brightly colorful interior decor. They play relaxing Thai classics and sometimes switch it up with familiar and vibey pop songs. It's a small space, but is never overcrowded, and there's conveniently plenty of parking in the back. FOOD - 9/10 The food here is incredible. I've tried multiple Thai places in and around the New Haven/Hamden area and Let it Be has got them all beat. Not only are the flavors authentic and high quality, but prices are fair and the dishes are well-portioned. Best of all, they're made with so much heart. Every bite has felt like a journey back home to South East Asia. SERVICE - 9/10 The service here has been phenomenal. Our friendly server is welcoming, prompt, and responsive to our needs. When a dish we asked for wasn't available, he took the time to find similar dishes for us. He also takes the time to make friendly conversation and share with us the history of some of the special dishes. Visits here always just feel like a pitstop at a friendly neighbor's. The only thing is that it can take a bit of time for the food to come out, which is natural as the dishes are likely made to order. OVERALL - 9/10 From the Thai staples (pad thai, red and green curries) to the more avant garde (larb kai but in a bánh mì / hoagie style sandwich?! woah!), this place does it all the right way. If you couldn't tell by now, this is my absolute favorite Thai place and I could not recommend it enough. Ally's Recs: Pad Thai (8/10) - cannot go wrong with a classic Pad See Ewe (9/10) - another classic! tastes great with a squeeze of lime Let it Be Thai Curry (9/10) - delicious house curry; they combo the curries well to create a creamy sweet and savory mixture that always leaves you wanting more Thai Tea (8/10) - if you're down for a treat, the condensed milk hits every time! Longan Juice / Tea (7/10) - refreshing and comes with a bunch of juicy longans on top. such a unique offering!

Hopefully they're doing a big takeout business because we were the only ones inside for dinner. Granted it was 8:30pm, but they are open until midnight. They were accommodating by turning the heat up on this chilly night. They also put on current Thai music for us after we asked about the American music being played. They offered my wife a syrupy lychee drink on the house to take care of the extra heat that she wasn't expecting. They put a bit of a different spin on their version of some popular dishes so don't be mad if it's not what you get at other Thai restaurants. Check out our pics. It was all excellent!

I like the other restaurant so I figured if BP is even better than that place then I have to try it. It's also not far from me so I quickly decided to check it out. Happy I did. Everything I got was delicious! I ordered the pumpkin curry with beef and a Thai tea with no ice to go. The Thai tea is the best I've ever had and that's no exaggeration. It is sweeter than others I've tried but I have a sweet tooth so that's actually one of the things I like best about it. It may not be for you if you like your tea less sweet. The pumpkin curry was so good! The beef was really tender. I have nothing negative to say about either the food or drink. I will def be back and I will be trying so much more. I will, especially, be taking advantage of their weekday lunch specials. Stay tuned for an updated review once I've gone a few more times but judging from this first visit, I know I will continue to be impressed.

Very relaxed atmosphere and you're never felt like you're being rushed to finish and leave, like so many other restaurants. Their foods are made fresh so it may take slightly longer to get your meal, but when you do, you'll be amazed...it's so good! They're very accomodating with altering their meals for any reason. Two of our party are vegan and as such cannot eat/have certain items. This was not a problem at all here! The service here is impeccable too. So polite and appreciative of your business. The location in in between two pizza places on the North Haven side of Rt 5 in Wallingford. It's our go-to take out place. Recently we dined in and it was even better. Their tom kha is so flavorful. The green curry beef noodle dish was huge and delicious with the right amount of spice. Unassuming simplicity inside with more take-away orders than diners, it seemed. But dining area was nice. Food- spring rolls are always good. However, I will say my go to is generally the pad Thai. Sometimes it is spot on and other times it almost tastes like there are different cooks, and it where it tastes like it came from a wok that is too hot/singed flavor and the right flavors just aren't there. I did notice they changed to more biodegrading to go products which is nice though! My family member got the Massaman Currt and reported it was not as good as usual, this time around it was very soupy with minimal spice. I've never eaten inside but this looks like a small hole in the wall spot from the outside , it is very quaint. Overall, return out of convenience when visiting the area from time to time but wish there were more consistency with when those dishes have been closer to their best!

The place had a really nice and chill vibe, really nice decor and a great spot for a somewhat nice lunch. But the stand out was the pad Thai. I've never had a creamy pad Thai and this was amazing. So flavorful. I didn't know what to expect with the mussels but I loved the mussels in the shell and it added a great flavor to the dish! The sauce was similar to Thai seafood sauce, but thicker, with a very strong garlic kick. Mixing it into the rice added a clever touch, cutting through the richness without making it soggy. Long Island Duck Pineapple Curry: Recommended by the owner. My first time trying a sweet and sour curry; the refreshing pineapple balanced well with the rich curry. The duck was just okay, mainly because it was too dry. Mango Sticky Rice: A pleasant surprise; my parents also loved it. The coconut milk had a strong sea salt and caramel flavor, likely due to the addition of coconut sugar or palm sugar. Steamed Vegetables: Just steamed vegetables, without any seasoning. A sprinkle of salt would have made it tastier.

The ramen was fantastic, but honestly, the service was even better. Everything came out super quickly, the restaurant was spotless, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. I ordered the shrimp tempura ramen and it was SO good. The shrimp tempura stayed crispy, the broth was flavorful, and the portion was generous. We also got the edamame, which tasted really fresh with the perfect crisp bite to it. I wasn't sure if I wanted to fully commit to the spicy garlic sauce, so I asked for it on the side... and immediately fell in love with it. We ended up dipping EVERYTHING in it, including the dumplings, which were absolutely delicious. My friend ordered a boba tea without the boba and really enjoyed it. They also got a sushi roll, and I tried some of the California roll myself. Sometimes all you want is a nice, fresh piece of sushi, and this definitely delivered. Also, points for serving the Diet Coke in a bottle. Nothing is worse than an inconsistent fountain! If we're ever back in the New Haven/Hamden area, this will absolutely be our go-to ramen spot. We'll definitely be back!
