Came here at 6:30 pm on a Friday. There wasn't anyone else eating at the restaurant but there were may people going in and out for take out. We got menus quickly and placed an order for drinks, followed by our meals. When we got our drinks, the berries matcha specifically, the worker let us know it was his first time making it so to let him know how it is. I took a sip after mixing it and it was delicious! A great amount of sweetness for me with the berry flavor and then a nice strong matcha flavor! The food came out quite quickly, and I had ordered medium spice and I think that was well executed. I came to this place couple times before and the food was delicious but now they change the service. We got here 5pm on Saturday. Nobody greet us we wait and had to go ask if we could seat. After long wait a guy came in with water. We ask to place the order and he told us to wait. The person that arrived after us left. I ordered the chicken red curry and crab rangoon through DoorDash. Everything was PERFECT. The sauce deeply flavorful, and the chicken and veggies were tender without being overcooked. The rangoon had that classic crisp exterior and flavorful, creamy interior that makes them so delicious. I also loved that the rangoon shells were folded in a shape that's very conducive to dipping and scooping up a little puddle of sauce. I've never seen them shaped that way before, and it's so clever! I would give minus 5. Stay away from this restaurant. I ordered beef with basil sauce and I went home to find they charged me for shrimp and gave me shrimp. When I called them to resolve the situation back not much apologies and they clearly didn't care. I was told to go back there because they don't deliver and also they won't refund me because I paid by cash. No remorse or feeling bad about the mistake and creating inconvenience for a customer. So delicious! I ordered the khao soy and it was the perfect amount of noodle to broth ratio, the broth was rich and creamy but also spicy. My only complaint is that I ordered Thai spicy but it was pretty mild to me. They do have additional peppers/ chillin oil to add if you love spice like I do. Delicious Thai food! My parents and I came here on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy, which was nice. The menu is huge! My Dad and I are both vegan and we really appreciated the vegan/vegetarian labels in the menu. We started our meal with Tom kha soup and vegetable dumplings. Both were amazing! So flavorful and delicious. For our entrées, my mom had shrimp pad Thai, I had the tofu pad Thai (no egg), and my Dad had the massaman curry with tofu. Everything was delicious, and super filling! I was looking forward to trying Koon Thai because of the reviews but was disappointed by the experience. Our food took over 40 minutes to arrive, and one of the dishes (fried rice) had the wrong type of meat (chicken instead of pork). My friend just accepted it because he didn't want to wait even longer for his food. I tried the three flavor curry with tofu, and while the tofu was nicely cooked and there were a decent number of vegetables, the string beans were undercooked and the portion of rice, while generous, was unevenly cooked with gloppy parts. I tasted my friends' drunken noodles and fried rice, and they didn't taste quite right. The fried rice was somehow kind of wet, and the flavor of the drunken noodles didn't taste anything like that of other drunken noodles we've had. It tasted as if both dishes had been seasoned with a bouillon cube broth rather than the proper flavorings. At the end, my friend who received the wrong dish was charged for the more expensive option he had ordered. When he contested the charge, he was told that the chef made pork in a way that made it look like chicken. (It was very clearly white chicken meat, and the server eventually updated the charge.) I would not recommend coming here due to the poor quality of food and slow food preparation. read more

In town for the school's family weekend. We waited a little for our table as we had 7 people in our party and didn't call for a reservation on a Friday night. Not too bad on the wait. Food: very decent food. We ordered yellow curry with pork, red curry with beef, and pineapple fried rice with shrimp, and Thai ice tea. The beef is a bit over cooked but the rest of the food was delicious. The fried rice is my favorite. It has curry mixed in with the fried rice and gave a good flavor. The spicy level of the curry was just perfect for me. We ordered an extra serving of rice to go with the curry. We left the restaurant satisfied with full stomached, and there was a line waiting for tables. read more

I ordered Koon via delivery, and I appreciated their large menu, which contained a few more interesting or different dishes than your average Thai restaurant. I ultimately got some pork bao, Kana Moo Krab, and chicken with cashew nut. The pork bao were average - a little small for the price, in my opinion. The Kana, which I asked medium spicy, was super duper spicy. I couldn't even finish it. The crispy pork was hot very flavorful (especially since I didn't want to use too much sauce). My husband enjoyed his cashew nut, which has a good portion of both protein and veggies. Maybe I just picked the wrong thing. I'd likely try them again because at least one dish was good. read more

I happened to notice this place while going out to see the Greens almost right next door and ended up coming here because another place I was interested in was carryout only. What a chance stumbling upon this place. I don't know exactly what I ordered but this place is one of the best vegan friendly restaurants I've ever been to. The food was on point and wasn't very greasy at all. Nice service and they also asked if I wanted my dish any spicier which I didn't. Very quiet and ambient atmosphere. What I like about this place, besides the food tasting good, is the simplicity and originality of the offerings. There are the classic American-friendly dishes but also various other combinations of veggies + rice (noodles) + sauce/spices, which I've not been able to order elsewhere! We ate the tofu Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) with no egg, and the Thai Pepper Garlic with fresh tofu. We loved both. Great flavor and good vegetables. If you're a tofu aficionado, make sure you try the fresh tofu option (instead of the puffs). It's fresh and mild - perfect for flavorful dishes. Probably the best Thai food in NH! Love the taro steamed buns, freshly made, fluffy and soft. Tom yum noodle soup is not bad. I asked for a "Fire" spiciness, which was just right for me. The soup base was sour and mildly sweet. The flat thin noodles cooked at a perfect timing. One thing I thought was different from what I had before was no sea food in the soup unless you asked for shrimp(I had beef anyway). Portion is huge. Koon thai has some amazing dishes. The steamed buns (pork or custard cream) are a real treat. Their spring rolls are delicious and a very generous portion. Steamed dumplings are also top notch. After studying abroad in Greece you could say I was spoiled when it comes to Mediterranean food. For years it was tough when it came to Mediterranean options in new haven, many have tried but mostly failed. Koon has finally filled that gap in new haven. The pole caught branzino and seasonal grilled veggies is to die for! The service is always beyond attentive. The servers have educated me a lot on Mediterranean cuisine and I am grateful for that. Well, this abomination of a restaurant should be avoided at all costs. Do not give your service to this establishment. We ordered $200 in food from Koon Thai restaurant on a Thursday night via Uber Eats. There was a total of 15 different items ordered. It took an hour and twenty minutes for the food to arrive. One measly bag of food was handed over by the Uber driver. After getting inside and inspecting the contents, there was only four times inside the bag, missing TWELVE items, mostly entrees. Called the establishment and they were terrible. Had no idea what they were doing and was very lax and uncaring, stating "oh I didn't see this this". He seemed to not know what was going on and stated that he could not help with getting the proper order delivered; "sorry we don't have any delivery drivers". When demanding a refund, the establishment stated they could not offer a refund, "only Uber can do that". Over $200 spent for five hungry people, waited over an hour for delivery, barely anything on the order delivered, and then terrible attitude and addressing the issue by the restaurant. Lastly, as hungry as we all were, we ate the food that actually did show up. Flavorless, bland, extremely dry chicken, and burned and dry corn cakes. This establishment is a disgusting representation of what hard working restaurants are dealing with and while trying to win customers in this current environment. Never again, and hope everyone takes the same warning. read more

I did an order online using the Yelp app. A simple order of pad Thai to take it home for dinner it was 8:35 pm. When I got to the restaurant 25 minutes later to pick up my order the person who is in charge of taking orders from customer when they get there he hasn't seen my order in the computer he told me to wait when he is going to check the computer to see if my order is there. When he come back he told me we just received your order it's going to take another 15 to cook it. At that time I was disappointed and unhappy. The total wasted time for my order was around 50 minutes for a Pad Thai. The person in charge in the restaurant told me that it's better order by calling no online. Why do they provide that service on Yelp app if they are not going to do it. Food was not delicious I got better pad Thai in other places. Chicken Satay: Surprisingly a big portion for an appetizer! We got 4 sticks with a yummy sauce! Not the most tender but certainly not dry either! Good flavor, would get again! Green Curry: The flavor was good but the ingredient variety was not there sadly. We got it with chicken- big mistake. The chicken was so dry and took up 85% of the curry. The ratio was kind of funny actually. The other 15% was mostly just bamboo. The flavor saved it, but I would not get this again. Pad Thai: Very good, flavorful and spicy! portions were great- just a fine pad Thai. Mango Sticky Rice: The flavor was good and the mangos ripe and sweet! However, there was only a little cream sauce and the rice was slightly undercooked. We ordered everything mild, but surprisingly everything still had a kick to it! A new and very good Thai restaurant. The greeting is warm and welcoming, and the food is terrific. Fresh tasting and properly spiced to order. We had moon dumplings ( deep fried and stuffed with pork) which were delicious. Also corn and shrimp balls, the spring rolls, and the chicken satay. All very good and with very generous portions. The mains were every bit as good. We tried several. Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, my new favorite, Drunken Noodle ( one of best the versions I've had!) and spicy eggplant. Its a family operation, everything is cooked to order so there might be a small wait-- but it's worth it. The prices are modest too! We will be back. And we will be bringing our friends.
