It's Thai Time is a solid option for those looking for Thai food with a casual atmosphere in the New Haven area. The space is deceptively much larger than I realized upon entering, and they can easily accommodate large groups and smaller parties alike. Service was pleasant and prompt, but admittedly we were the only other table there during lunch. I'm curious to see how busy this place gets during dinner service. Chicken satay was tender and perfect for my 22-month-old. Drunken noodles hit the spot and had just the right amount of spice for me. The broth for the beef stew noodle soup was sweeter than I expected, but the garlicky flavor and tender beef won me over. Also was happy to see they have a full bar with a decent cocktail menu! Prices are actually a bit above average. The ambiance would also benefit from further interior updates in the future. The neon signs are a nice step towards making it appear more trendy. I used snack pass to pick up dinner from here. I got the pad se ew. Food came out incredibly fast. Snack pass estimated 20 minutes and it was ready in about 5. It was still piping hot when I picked it up. The noodles were slightly overcooked but not enough to ruin the dish. There was a generous amount of chicken and crunchy veggies. It was saucier than other pad se ew I've had and the sauce was definitely sweeter than I'm used to. While not the most authentic tasting, it was still very good and satisfied my Thai craving. Outstanding all around! I stopped in for takeout lunch since my office is on the same block and now I will have to make this a weekly visit! I had the lunch combo with pad Thai, shrimp with cashews, and the chicken satay and it was PLENTY Of food. Hot tip when you order online they will give you a free drink at pickup (see photo for proof!). The shrimp and cashews was in a light spicy broth with pineapples for some sweetness and tons of veggies. The pad Thai was rich and nutty and complex with such a fantastic texture and the chicken satay was incredibly juicy and flavorful with a tasty peanut sauce on the side. Was in the neighborhood and Thai food sounded really good. Sandra was super friendly and helpful. It was fairly empty but ordered the veggie pancakes (which were gluten free and delicious!), the beef satay, pad see ew and kee mow crispy pork and a Thai tea to go. All of it was really impressive and great portion for the price. Highly recommend and would go back to enjoy the restaurant ambiance as it's a really great space and with a full bar. read more

I was in the mood for Thai food but wanted to try a restaurant I never been to. Restaurant was fairly empty for a Saturday night but I was quickly seated. I was impressed with the ambiance and space of the restaurant; beautiful and clean! I appreciated that they offered mocktails and I treated myself to one. My appetizer was the veggie dumplings and my entree was the chicken pad thai. Both dishes came out relatively fast and were flavorful. Brenda, as well as the kitchen staff, offer gracious hospitality, which adds a personal touch that's hard to find elsewhere. Their menu offers a well-curated selection that caters to different palates, especially those with strict dietary restrictions. From traditional Thai dishes to some with a modern twist, there's a decent variety to choose from. Comparatively, the food here has a freshness and authenticity that outshines other similar restaurants in New Haven. Considering Pho Thai, Pho Ketko, Pad Thai, and Blue Orchird, It's Thai Time offers dishes that are more flavorful, better-portioned, and presented with more care - sure, it may be that they just opened, but through my short interaction with Brenda today, I firmly believe she and her family will do exceptionally well with this restaurant! The official grand opening is set for mid-November, but the restaurant is already operating with hours from 11:30 am to 10:00 pm, though they close briefly from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm from Monday to Thursday. I recommend paying a visit before the grand opening if you can. In the beef stew noodle soup, the meat pieces were very soft and held so much flavor. The soup reminded me of pho broth with a rich beef flavor. Yellow curry was delicious as well! Staff were attentive and friendly! One thing that was interesting about this place was its interior. When I entered the restaurant, I expected it to be more like a dessert place or something similar. Came today for lunch with a friend. Always love trying out a new restaurant. Its airy interior has a modern style with lots of natural light. The owner, a nice young woman, waited on us. We each ordered a lunch special sampler that comes with 2 entrees and 2 spring rolls. My Pad Thai Noodles and Ginger Chicken were both fresh and delicious. My friend got a vegetarian sampler; and also enjoyed her meal. I have to go back because there were other options on the menu that I want to try. The only reason why I give this a two star and not a one star is because the service was good. I went here on a weekday for the lunch special. I ordered the drunken noodle and chicken ginger combo. I don't know if it's because we went for lunch, but the food tasted like it was made one or two days ago and heated up for us. The chicken ginger did not come with rice as it normally should. It was bland. The drunken noodle was also bland and did not have any protein in it except some flakes of eggs. Disappointing given that the reviews on here are so good, but I am hopeful that the owner and chef can improve. With that said, the waitress was very nice and attentive, and the service was good. Came here for lunch. The restaurant is very clean, with nice spacious seating. They had good portions and priced lunch special that were kind of like a bento box style. We ordered the Pad Tai, Chicken Ginger, and Veggie eggroll combo and added a Chicken Satay appetizer. It was plenty for me and a friend to share. Food was very flavorful and veggies were very fresh. This is our new top choice for Thai cuisine in New Haven. The Tom yum soup is superb. Green curry was excellent, incorporating a variety of peppers l had not had before.
