    1. Pad Thai, Shrimp Cashew Nut, Chicken Satay Lunch Combo
    Allison K.

Outstanding all around! I stopped in for takeout lunch since my office is on the same block and now I will have to make this a weekly visit! I had the lunch combo with pad Thai, shrimp with cashews, and the chicken satay and it was PLENTY Of food. Hot tip when you order online they will give you a free drink at pickup (see photo for proof!). The shrimp and cashews was in a light spicy broth with pineapples for some sweetness and tons of veggies. The pad Thai was rich and nutty and complex with such a fantastic texture and the chicken satay was incredibly juicy and flavorful with a tasty peanut sauce on the side. The staff were so friendly and my order was ready super quick. A+ for cleanliness and coziness of the restaurant as well! Do not hesitate! Go!

Have been on the hunt for a new Thai spot after a few sub par experiences at another local spot. Ordered the Ginger Chicken, Drunken noodle and Thai dumplings lunch special and it is DELICIOUS! Not greasy, flavorful and just the right amount of heat from the noodles. Can't wait to try other dishes!

some of the best Thai food I've ever had! Enjoyed the hot basil friend rice, drunken noodle, and red curry. Incredible flavors especially for the red curry and the drunk noodle

I was in the mood for Thai food but wanted to try a restaurant I never been to. Restaurant was fairly empty for a Saturday night but I was quickly seated. I was impressed with the ambiance and space of the restaurant; beautiful and clean! I appreciated that they offered mocktails and I treated myself to one. My appetizer was the veggie dumplings and my entree was the chicken pad thai. Both dishes came out relatively fast and were flavorful. Definitely will be coming back or order here on nights I'd like some takeout.

Having dined here twice now in the few weeks that they've been (soft) open, it's a charming addition to the local food scene in New Haven. This family-owned gem, led by the warm and welcoming Brenda (she and her son are so wonderful!), promises a cozy and enjoyable dining experience. The ambiance is inviting, reflecting a blend of modern aesthetics with a touch of traditional Thai decor. Brenda, as well as the kitchen staff, offer gracious hospitality, which adds a personal touch that's hard to find elsewhere. Their menu offers a well-curated selection that caters to different palates, especially those with strict dietary restrictions. From traditional Thai dishes to some with a modern twist, there's a decent variety to choose from. Comparatively, the food here has a freshness and authenticity that outshines other similar restaurants in New Haven. Considering Pho Thai, Pho Ketko, Pad Thai, and Blue Orchird, It's Thai Time offers dishes that are more flavorful, better-portioned, and presented with more care - sure, it may be that they just opened, but through my short interaction with Brenda today, I firmly believe she and her family will do exceptionally well with this restaurant! The official grand opening is set for mid-November, but the restaurant is already operating with hours from 11:30 am to 10:00 pm, though they close briefly from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm from Monday to Thursday. I recommend paying a visit before the grand opening if you can. The courteous staff, delicious food, and warm atmosphere are well worth the trip, and it's a chance to enjoy a quiet meal before word gets out about this new spot.

A new restaurant in New Haven! I ordered beef stew noodle soup, and my boyfriend ordered yellow curry. Both had perfect portion, and honestly, they tasted great! In the beef stew noodle soup, the meat pieces were very soft and held so much flavor. The soup reminded me of pho broth with a rich beef flavor. Yellow curry was delicious as well! Staff were attentive and friendly! One thing that was interesting about this place was its interior. When I entered the restaurant, I expected it to be more like a dessert place or something similar. The walls were painted in a soft baby pink color, giving it a vibe that reminded me of a barbie theme. We will definitely come back here!

It is a normal Thai. Taste is pretty good. But the price is little high. Portion is relative small too.

The place had a really nice and chill vibe, really nice decor and a great spot for a somewhat nice lunch. They were serving their lunch menu and I ended up getting the mussels pad Thai, and a chicken curry puff appetizer and a Thai tea. The Thai tea was solid, and the chicken curry puffs were very good. But the stand out was the pad Thai. I've never had a creamy pad Thai and this was amazing. So flavorful. I didn't know what to expect with the mussels but I loved the mussels in the shell and it added a great flavor to the dish! I will definitely be coming back again to order this, and try some of their other items!

Delicious!…read more Crab Fried Rice: The rice grains were separate and refreshing, but lacked wok hei 鑊氣, resembling crab meat and scrambled eggs mixed with rice. The sauce was similar to Thai seafood sauce, but thicker, with a very strong garlic kick. Mixing it into the rice added a clever touch, cutting through the richness without making it soggy. Long Island Duck Pineapple Curry: Recommended by the owner. My first time trying a sweet and sour curry; the refreshing pineapple balanced well with the rich curry. The duck was just okay, mainly because it was too dry. Mango Sticky Rice: A pleasant surprise; my parents also loved it. The coconut milk had a strong sea salt and caramel flavor, likely due to the addition of coconut sugar or palm sugar. Steamed Vegetables: Just steamed vegetables, without any seasoning. A sprinkle of salt would have made it tastier.

Shhh, don't tell anyone!…read more But also tell everyone you know! Let it Be is a chic, cozy little hole in the wall spot on Dixwell which although you can easily miss, you won't want to because it's a legend of a Thai restaurant. AMBIANCE - 8/10 When you walk inside, you're greeted by a familiar friendly smile (? one of the owners) before being seated amongst brightly colorful interior decor. They play relaxing Thai classics and sometimes switch it up with familiar and vibey pop songs. It's a small space, but is never overcrowded, and there's conveniently plenty of parking in the back. FOOD - 9/10 The food here is incredible. I've tried multiple Thai places in and around the New Haven/Hamden area and Let it Be has got them all beat. Not only are the flavors authentic and high quality, but prices are fair and the dishes are well-portioned. Best of all, they're made with so much heart. Every bite has felt like a journey back home to South East Asia. SERVICE - 9/10 The service here has been phenomenal. Our friendly server is welcoming, prompt, and responsive to our needs. When a dish we asked for wasn't available, he took the time to find similar dishes for us. He also takes the time to make friendly conversation and share with us the history of some of the special dishes. Visits here always just feel like a pitstop at a friendly neighbor's. The only thing is that it can take a bit of time for the food to come out, which is natural as the dishes are likely made to order. OVERALL - 9/10 From the Thai staples (pad thai, red and green curries) to the more avant garde (larb kai but in a bánh mì / hoagie style sandwich?! woah!), this place does it all the right way. If you couldn't tell by now, this is my absolute favorite Thai place and I could not recommend it enough. Ally's Recs: Pad Thai (8/10) - cannot go wrong with a classic Pad See Ewe (9/10) - another classic! tastes great with a squeeze of lime Let it Be Thai Curry (9/10) - delicious house curry; they combo the curries well to create a creamy sweet and savory mixture that always leaves you wanting more Thai Tea (8/10) - if you're down for a treat, the condensed milk hits every time! Longan Juice / Tea (7/10) - refreshing and comes with a bunch of juicy longans on top. such a unique offering!

Hopefully they're doing a big takeout business because we were the only ones inside for dinner. Granted it was 8:30pm, but they are open until midnight. They were accommodating by turning the heat up on this chilly night. They also put on current Thai music for us after we asked about the American music being played. They offered my wife a syrupy lychee drink on the house to take care of the extra heat that she wasn't expecting. They put a bit of a different spin on their version of some popular dishes so don't be mad if it's not what you get at other Thai restaurants. Check out our pics. It was all excellent!
