We used to dine in regularly back in the good old days. We got takeout tonight and it was wonderful. The order was ready in the 15 minutes as promised. Pickup was quick and easy. Everything was packaged up nicely - and piping hot! We always get samosas. Always. They're usually more crispy when you dine in, but they were still delicious. The yellow curry with chicken is always a winner for us. I love the potatoes and spice. Smooth and velvety. We switch between the green curry or massaman. The green curry has a brighter flavor. I love this place. I've been going for years and continue to do so. They make some great tasting food and have a great lunch special to try new things. I have yet to try a samosa better than theirs- I keep coming back! My ultimate go to is the Pad Prik with beef. The salad has a great peanut dressing. We did takeout today for dinner but my family has dined in at least a dozen times before. They consistently serve up delicious, good quality food at a good price. It was easy ordering and paying over the phone and picking up the order inside the restaurant. My 2 favorites are the drunken noodles and yellow curry. I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to spice so their low levels are perfect for me (can request more spice if wanted). read more

The food used to be so good. My family has come to this restaurant for years. Things have changed drastically and not for the better. I ordered massaman chicken curry today and feel sick. The chicken tasted a little funny, and now I am wishing I hadn't ordered. The new management are clearly are using sub-par ingredients. Really sad. read more

Andaman. It's been closed for years. She was our first favorite Thai restaurant. Loved that place! Andaman became our benchmark by which all other Thai restaurants shall forever be gauged. Some have come close. Most don't hold a candle. Perhaps Andaman is a silly barometer to use but it's all we've got. I've seen this little place for some time. I've asked others if they've tried it. They're not open on Sundays so it's been tough trying to check it out. We stopped by on Valentine's but they were packed and were told our meal would take about 45 minutes to come out to us. We didn't stay. Just finished a meal here and I couldn't wait to pen this review! Its small. All the tables are four tops. There are 11 or 12. I don't know how many are in the kitchen. I suppose they may have as many as two servers when they get busy. Maybe more. The menu was surprisingly large. I had massaman with beef. My daughter had red curry with chicken. We split a plate of curry fried rice with chicken. Washed it down with water. The massaman was savory AF! Thick, viscous goodness with lots of tender beef, onions, potatoes and peanuts. The curry was a bit sweet for my taste. The curry fried rice was very nice. Portions were generous, the water was wet, cold and had no weird aftertaste. Everything was clean, service was quick and attentive. The food was piping hot, colorful and plated nicely. Prices were slightly below what I would otherwise have expected to pay. It's a bit early yet, there are a number of other dishes I'll need to try. While nothing will replace the many memories we had of Andaman, I'm positive we have found a new favorite Thai restaurant! I am SO sad!!! After 10+ years of Thai Spice being my go-to Thai spot and overall favorite restaurant, it seems they have changed ownership and none of my favorites taste the same AT ALL. This is such a disappointment. I've given it a few chances and have come to realize that the chef and ownership overall has changed and it no longer has the "charm" and craving worthy meals I have been going there for. Portions are very generous, taste is just right. Hard to find stateside such an onest establishment. Tom Yum Goon (Hot&Sour Shrimp Soup an Pad Krabao Gai (Basil Chicken) are amazing. This place had really good service and quite a bit of options on their menu. My table of 12 ordered a mixture of items. The soup was a hit, and also the chicken skewers were delicious. I did feel that the food didn't taste like traditional Thai cuisine I've had, but it was worth checking out. They have a full halal menu, so it's perfect for those with dietary restrictions. Amazing, authentic Thai! I could recommend so many wonderful dishes but some favorites are- Thai Spice Noodles. Gang Garee. Yum Neau. Gai Gha. Pla Lad Phik Just to name a few :) Also, their Pad Thai doesn't compare to any where else. Definitely the best! As far as desserts go, you can't leave without ordering Coconut Mango Sticky Rice. Just an oft-overlooked Thai place, in an oft-overlooked strip mall development, that has some charm and solid Thai food. In a town where Thai food has taken off, you might find them to be a dime a dozen. And while Thai Spice doesn't do too much that you don't see elsewhere (more on that later) I do think it's a charming little neighborhood spot. It's a skinny little space the development between 700 and 900 East, right there on Fort Union. It's the kind of place that has its neighborhood regulars. The kind of place that you may never hear too many people rave about, but the kind of place that you can pop into and have a reliable nicely composed dinner. I'm not in love with their noodles here (the soft yellow noodles are really like spaghetti noodles) and it didn't quite work, but to each his own. They taste just fine. The curry was nice, and you can order it "authentic" level of spice, which was just right for our table. Not too spicy, but it left a sting. What I really dug was the deep fried salmon in a curry/coconut sauce. This was pretty unique and I haven't seen it on too many menus. The sauce was a little sweet, but overall it had a nice, round flavor that paired well with the crispy wedge of salmon. I won't stay up at night craving this food, but I will not hesitate one bit to pop in for dinner or a lunch special if I'm in the neighborhood. read more

Solid good Thai food here. Ordered the vegetarian Thai egg rolls and vegetables delight Thai curry. Egg rolls where good but seemed factory produced, like something you can get at Costco, rather than hand/home made. The chili sauce was fantastic. The curry dish was spot on. Tons of veggies- broccoli, green beans, red peppers, potatoes, bamboo, water chestnuts, tomatoes, tiny corn, onions, pineapple. All in a really good mussaman curry. Truly loved the variety and amount of veggies. Our server was a one man show and did a great job managing the room. The food was hot and good. Better than expected. Really weird. Called for a simple takeout order. The order taker asked the kitchen how long? A voice said,"15 minutes". The order taker then told me, "One hour." Hmm, strange. We arrived an hour later to pickup order. A very rude young woman asked me, "did you order iced coffee?" I said no - we ordered Thai ice tea. She said, " oh, we ran out of that!" Huh? I asked to speak with manager, a very nice man came out and said he was sorry, they ran out of ice tea - the server should have kept one for us. He even offered to brew a new batch - I thanked him, but no. When we got back to our hotel (a minute away)l, we found the food was cold, the rice was undercooked and lacked their usual great flavor. So not sure if this is normal, but the green curry is really bland tasting. Seems like they ran out of coconut milk and just used something else because there isn't that little sweetness to it which all Green, Panang, Massaman curries I've ever had have. Ummm... I feel like I am beating the dead horse. This place is like home to me. We know the owners, they treat us like family. We have tried few Thai food restaurants in the valley. We have come to the conclusion that this is the best Thai restaurant that one could find here in our neck of the woods. Their Pad Thai is good but their soups that come in a "UFO" lol are to die for! Whenever I catch a cold oe feel under the weather, I would either have Pho or come to this place and have one of their soups. SO GLAD WE CAME HERE INSTEAD. This is a great Thai Restaurant with wonderful service! FOOD: Vegetarian Egg rolls (3 stars): Standard but good. Pad see Ew (4 stars): This is my favorite Thai dish and it did not disappoint here. M1 with chicken (4 stars): Really good sauce. Our waiter told us this was a popular dish here and now I know why. M10 with chicken (3 stars): More of a sweet sauce, still good but I'm not a big fan of sweet sauces. Shrimp Fried Rice (4 stars): Shrimp were cooked well. Tom Ka Kai Soup (3 stars): Too creamy. Not used to this being so white. Yellow Curry (4 stars): Good curry sauce. We asked for mild and it was pretty spicy so beware! Curry Fried Rice (4 stars): YUM. A little spicy which I like. SERVICE (5 stars) There was one waiter here, and he was awesome. We had a larger group and ordered dishes with special requests. He repeated our orders twice just to make sure everything was correct. Really great food! The flavors were amazing, everything was fresh and the portions were just right. We were skeptical to say the least but really pleasantly surprised. We were in for lunch and the lunch special includes two main dishes, jasmine rice, veggie egg roll and salad. The two of us ordered a lunch special each, plus two samosa and got out the door for around $18. The food was so awful. The chicken satay was burnt and fully fried and rubbery. This is a new management take over and it is a disaster. They have no basil in the basil fried rice and chicken. I came here for lunch with my husband and it was pretty busy. They only had 1 person working in the front but she was pretty efficient with service. All the meals on the lunch menu were chicken unless you wanted a noodle dish where there were other meat choices. Out of all the Thai restaurants we keep coming back to Thai Spice. The other restaurants haven't been that good and these guys are very consistent in delivering good quality food. I like Pad Thai but my wife has introduced me to other dishes that are really good too. Our favorites are the drunken noodles and yellow curry with chicken. The drunken noodles has a good assortment of vegetables and those little baby's corn that isn't my favorite but when these guys cook it it has the best corn flavor.
