Don't come here for your standard Thai food, come here for their special kao soi with short rib. Must have but pricey, still really worth it. Quick service, usually plenty of room and parking.
Super cute thai place with a small outdoor patio. Perfect spot to epat before or after a walk at Liberty Park. The service was attentive, the food tasted fresh. Nothing was too heavy. It could be a little spicier but I think thats a personal preference. Overall a good experience!

There is a decent variety of noodle and rice options for this pan-Asian restaurant. Their specialties are still Thai cuisine, which is what I ended up ordering. We got the Khao Soi, Pad Thai, Crying Tiger, and the Kin Sen Rice. The kitchen was a bit backed up, but when we finally got out food, everything was delicious! Our fried rice was normally supposed to come with white rice, but the server came out and asked if we'd be ok with brown rice and we agreed. It was good, but I don't typically order it and would like to try it with white rice instead. The Pad Thai had good flavors and the Khao Soi was one of the best I've had in a while. The crying tiger steak was cooked to a medium rare - what I personally prefer. The staff were all very welcoming and the restaurant was well kept. Can't wait to go back and try more items!
New location. First time visiting this one, seems that they changed their menu and have added on new dishes. Garlic butter shrimp was delicious. It was crispy and in the bowl there is some sauce that compliments the shrimp. I got the Kao soi short beef ribs as my entree. It was different from the chicken one I had a few years ago but still delicious. It's very creamy and full of different flavors. The short ribs were very soft and tender that the meat would just fall right off.
Best boat noodle!!! Boat noodle - better flavors than others in town, spicy, acidic, more savory and umami. I loved this and even liked it the next day as well. Highly recommend Khao soi - way too salty, overshadowing the curry flavors and the pickled veggies. I'm not sure if it's because it was concentrated from the end of the day but it was hard to take. The egg noodles in it were top notch though Sen yai - sweet, slightly acidic, and savory. Flavors that both adults and children would find palatable and easy. Service was frequent, not exceptionally friendly, but still good for an Asian joint Atmosphere was clean Overall I'd come back to try their other dishes too and again with the boat noodles
We came here with my sister and her family, by recommendation from one of my Yelp fam. My sister and her family had just finished up snow boarding and skiing at Brighton, so it was the perfect place to meet them, before all the restaurants started closing. We ordered a variety of dishes, and everything was delicious! I loved the Drunken Noodles! The Thai iced teas was definitely garnished and pretty (and yummy too)! The staff was great and checked in on us frequently. It wasn't too busy when we went. My family mentioned how they loved this choice after dinner. We'll be back again!

Those were just some of the dishes we ordered...I forgot the other ones...but they were all really tasty. A - ambiance was great, restaurant is quaint, well lit, and tastefully decorated. Restaurant is on the smaller side, so because the food is so good, it fills up really quickly, but they do a great job getting food in and out, and getting you fed, despite how crowded it is.. C- cost is very reasonable...we had 10 people at about $28/head, which included gratuity..and we ate a lot of food.. S- service is OUTSTANDING, that is really where they stand apart. JOSE (owner) is gracious and so helpful...Because it was our first time there, I asked NANCY for recommendations....every single dish she suggested was outstanding. So, if you want outstanding Thai food, at a reasonable price, in an atmosphere that feels like you are at a friends home, and with service that feels more like family than a business, make sure to try Kin Sen Thai, and ask for Jose.
The food was amazing! Full of flavor. The crying tiger (not pictured) is amazing. Good portion. The veggies are delish. Poor man noodle is packed with protein. Has more protein than noodles. The way they do their veggies has this amazing char to it. Absolutely delish. Boat noodles is packed with flavor. Very well balanced and layered. Ambiance. Very cute and intimate spot. Not really good for big groups. Service. The waitress needs a lot of coaching in service and in life. I would say she is new but she has been the same waitress from the last time we were there. Let say her service went down hill- if it was bad the other time. It was worst this time. The food is absolutely worth going again.
Valentines dinner never felt so special. For an occasional like this, my date and I ordered more dishes than normal and some were a first for us. First, was the Poor Man's Noodle. What an incredible dish. The slight spice and abundant flavor in every bite makes me want to go back just for that. The Panang Curry was tasty and well done but it did have a slightly overpowering taste - we deemed this to be from the fish sauce. Still recommend, but not quite as smooth as other Panang Curry we have frequented. The Khao Ka Moo and Yum Woon Sen provided some variety in the typical Thai Dishes and they were phenomenal as I attempted to broaden my Thai cuisine palate. The variety of food choices gave off an authentic experience when paired with the traditional Southeast Asian decor found around the walls and ceiling. I sat near a wood panel divider that separated us from the front door and it provided exceptional separation from the happenings at the front of the store despite us being rather closing to the register and door. The service was slower than expected but the house was packed and our original server was sent home after a burn from the kitchen so they were understaffed on an absolutely crazy Valentines Day night. My Fiancé and I highly recommend this restaurant to all!
Tried this place for the first time today. It's a nice small quaint Thai restaurant. The staff was helpful and friendly with suggestions. There were lots of options I hadn't heard of before so having someone explain them was great. The meats in all our dishes are incredibly tender. Their ramen is very flavorful and very fresh. Highly recommend it. We shared two dishes and both were excellent. The price is on the high side but not so much so that it isn't worth coming. Each dish is in the $20 range give or take a few dollars and their appetizers are in the high teens. I wouldn't mind going back to try other dishes.

I started with a Thai Iced Tea, and they gave it a fun twist by topping it with whipped cream. This isn't traditional for Thai tea but it was delicious. For our meal, we shared a spread of Khao Soi, Pad Thai, Kin Sen Fried Rice, and Crying Tiger Steak. Every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The Khao Soi had a rich, comforting curry broth, and the Pad Thai was well-balanced with just the right amount of sweetness and tang. I ordered and extra side of slices of lime and they didn't charge extra. They were out of white rice for the fried rice, but the staff offered brown rice instead, and it was still delicious. It had a different grainy texture in comparison to white rice, but still delicious and added a nice nutty depth. The Crying Tiger Steak was tender and flavorful, rounding out the meal perfectly. Overall, Kin Sen impressed me with its vibrant dishes and friendly vibe. I'd love to be back to explore more of the menu.
What a gem. Ambiance: Unassuming restaurant on a little strip area. Inside was very nice, spacious, and well decorated. It seems like there's an outdoor area that could be use when it's not super cold out. Service: Quick and friendly. Food came out fast. Food: We got the boat noodles with beef which was delicious. The beef was nice a tender, the noodles were plentiful, and the flavor/spice was so delicious! We also got a Poor Man's Noodles which seemed like a mix of flat noodles and vegetables which was also delicious with a good flavor and hit of spice. The serving sizes were also ginormous and justify the pricing which can be a bit high. Overall, great food, portion for the price, and unique flavoring that I didn't expect to find!
Kin Sen is my new favorite thai spot in town. The squash curry, green curry, and kao soi are among the best I've had. For the online ordering they don't ask about heat so I always am sure to leave a note asking for "Medium Head" and it some out perfect. The curries are always very generous with tofu and vegetables. read more

Great portions. The flavors of the poor man's noodles were very good but slightly bland. The noodles themselves were cooked very well. The edamame and calamari were good too. Easy to walk in on a Friday evening for a group of three at ~7 PM. Service was very nice; however, our table was blasted with cold air every time the door to the entrance was opened, which was a bit uncomfortable. read more
We wanted to try a new thai restaurant for takeout and stumbled upon Kin Sen Thai. We ordered the pad see ew, chicken khao soi, and mango sticky rice. The pad see ew was great! Lots of flavor and good portion. The khao soi was good. It has a kick which I was not expecting and the crispy noodles were not crispy by the time of pick up. I would like to try it dining in next time. The mango sticky rice was very good!! Possibly my favorite I've had. The food was great and the ordering process over the phone could have been better. Kao Soi noodle short rib was really good, it has yummy yellow curry sauce in it, short rib meat melt in our mouth, we couldn't get enough of it! Sen ya noodle was not as good as we thought, it had sweet and sour taste. Won't order that next time. read more
Wow. By far some of the best flavor depth, quality, value of any Thai restaurant on either coast. I was in town on a work trip, and went twice!!! Service was quick and attentive both nights I went. They remembered my order too. The owner was very sweet, and came out to say hello the second time. The Kao Soi short rib is truly spectacular. Best I have ever had. A level 4 spice was perfect. A good amount of heat, noodles cooked perfectly and the tenderness of the short rib was on point. Highly recommend this restaurant as it hits the spot tremendously! read more

First time trying Kin Sen since they moved from their location on 2300 E. I don't know if they switched owners or not but I feel that the old location was better. Price is around the same and service was nice but the portions were definitely smaller. Overall still a nice lil gem in SLC and would recommend! read more

During this day, I was really craving hainan chicken. After some research, I discovered there is a Thai version of hainan chicken. It is called Khao Man Kai. I drove an hour to Kin Sen to try it. Though very very similar to hainan chicken, I did not taste as much ginger/garlic infused flavors in the rice and chicken. However, it was still pretty good. What I really liked was the yum woon sen. It was my first time trying it and now I'm a fan. Now, I will always try to look for it at any Thai restaurant I go to. The pad thai was fine. I did NOT like the papaya salad. It was WWWAAAAYYY too sweet. This salad alone dinged a star off of my review. It did not taste like a traditional papaya salad at all. Practically just sugar and water was used as the dressing. The roti dessert was fine, but I can tell they used old ice cream. From the scoop of ice cream I was given, I could clearly see freeze burn marks all on it. Overall, this place wasn't bad, but nothing to write home about. I will say that the entree portions were huge; very generous of them. It got busy fast. It's not a huge place but still had a nice chill vibe to it. read more
Kin Sen Thai TOGO, where your taste buds take a world tour without the need for a passport! I started with what I like to call 'Broth of Champions'--this epic beef noodle soup was basically a warm hug in a bowl, but with more personality. The rich, savory broth was so delicious that I almost considered drinking it straight from the bowl (no judgment, right?). With crunchy pork rinds on top and enough bean sprouts to make me feel healthy, this dish nailed both texture and taste. Then came the ceviche--a surprise I wasn't expecting in a Thai spot but hey, fusion is the name of the game! It was a delightful mix of zingy citrus, tender seafood, and tortilla chips so perfectly crispy, I swear they have a dedicated 'chip whisperer' in the kitchen. It was like having a party in my mouth and everyone was invited. So if you're in Millcreek and your stomach is doing the cha-cha, Kin Sen Thai TOGO is where you need to go. The meal kicked off on a low note with some of the worst spicy dumplings I've ever had in my life. They are served in a shallow bowl submerged in a cold and spicy broth. The dumplings are most likely not made in house and purchased from Costco The white pearl hot sake was also served boiling hot with steam rising out of the jug. I suspect they microwaved it We ordered five dishes to share family style and to my surprise they were all delicious Kin sen noodle soup, boat short rib, fried chicken and rice, curry noodles, and some pho Also there was a dog running around the dining area. The owner of the restaurant apologized, apparently someone's dog wandered in As we were leaving some lady came with with her kids and reclaimed their lost dog. Good times read more
I've been here twice for dinner and each time I'm blown away at how flavorful everything is. If you don't like spice and depth to your broth this place is not for you. I love noodle soups with a passion and even more on a cold night. The restaurant is really small but we were fortunate to get a table right away on a Saturday night. I got the Thai boat noodles with brisket and my hubby got the Khao so i. The bowls were huge and full of noodles, tender meat, veggies and thick, flavorful broth. Ask for some spices to kick up the heat. The brisket in my soup was so tender and flavorful, literally melting in my mouth. The broth was dark and heady and full of flavor and spice. The Khao soi was a curry based soup with crunchy cabbage in it to add some texture with the noodles. Perfect place to satisfy that noodle soup craving. read more

Wow! This place is great! Good atmosphere, very nice servers, amazing food. I had the Khao Soi with shrimp. First of all, Khao Soi is one of my favorite Thai dishes. Some of my friends with similar taste raved about this place and I was so sad when I saw them close before I could try it, and now they have a new location in Milcreek (with better parking), and it's so cute! This is the perfect place for a cozy modern and delicious date night. The staff are very attentive and nice, there's recommended chef dishes and we tried them and they were all amazing! Prices are a bit more but it's because they give you good portions with plenty of protein and vegetables! The satay chicken was my favorite, it was a huge piece of chicken perfectly cooked with two sauces (cucumber carrot red onion sweet vinegar and peanut), but the kal soi flavor was spot on. Short ribs fell off the bone and melted in your mouth. My chicken in the boat noodles weren't as tender as the satay chicken but plenty of it and still good with the broccolini, spinach, and sprouts! The rice bowl came with a LOT of rice! You can alter your spice levels and really crank it up as desired. read more

Rice noodles, beef short rib, beef, oxtail, beef meat balls, bean sprouts, Chinese broccoli and scallion in house special broth. I loved it These beefy pieces of meat add a rich beefy flavor and tender texture to our dish. Oxtail is a fatty piece of beef that lends a unique richness and depth of flavor to our broth. I love oxtail !!! it's a delightful twist on the traditional noodle dish. The Kao soi with shrimp looks like an art piece. This mouth-watering combination of curry, noodles, and soup is not just tasty but also incredibly satisfying. It was a perfect blend of textures and flavors. It's not just a treat for the eyes but also for the taste buds! The chicken teriyaki is a great option, especially for kids. And don't skip the desserts you can't go wrong with mango, sticky rice, or a good honey toast. So there you have it! A brief overview of the delicious dishes i tried at an Asian Noodle Bar. New location for 2023! The flavors here are prominent here, that's a good thing. The Sen Yai noodles are not to be missed. The boat noodles had a broth I have not had before, the large piece of beef short rib definitely satisfied. Oxtail is always a challenge for me but well worth the time. Don't skip the dessert, if you've never had honey toast, you're in for a treat. The crunch of the toast contrasts nicely with the ice cream and sticky rice. No doubt this will be a neighborhood favorite so be prepared for a wait as parking and inside seating is a bit limited but the patio will be open when weather permits! read more

Cute small restaurant, they recently relocated so there's a bit more space and parking. They did unfortunately take a couple drinks off the menu. Service was pleasant and quick. The food is always delicious. I crave it at least once a week. You won't be disappointed. We ordered Sen Yai (must order!), Kao Soi, garlic shrimp, boat noodles, and pho. read more

If I could give Kin Sen more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! This has become my all-time favorite spot. The short rib boat noodles are simply out of this world--so flavorful and comforting. Their Thai tea is hands down the best I've ever had, perfectly creamy and sweet. The gyoza and edamame are spot-on, absolute perfection in taste and texture. The service here is always outstanding; the staff is warm, welcoming, and attentive. And the ambiance? Just perfect! Kin Sen is a must-visit, and I can't recommend it enough. read more
