    Taro milk tea with boba
    Tanya J.

Came here to get bubble tea, and had a strange interaction with the cashier. When I paid for my drink, she gave me a hard time because I paid with a $20. (There's a sign that says that the highest bill they would prefer a customer use is a $20 bill .... sooo?) She had a very nasty attitude, so much so that when my friends ordered their tea, she started to huff under her breath when they asked her to make two more (even though they already asked for this and had been waiting for 10 minutes) The taro milk tea was really good which is unfortunate because the cashiers attitude wasn't and that really put a damper on the experience. Also- she wasn't wearing gloves when she made all of our orders. There's a whole pandemic going on, I think updates health standards need to be implemented.

Not bad for take out. I finally ordered from this place and very happy to say they had my favorite dessert mango sticky rice which really prompted me to order from here.chicken satay was good but it didn't traditionally come from a stick it was a kind of chicken breasts that was cut up, however the flavors were still intact and the Penang Chicken was good and the Phad Thai was great. The Phad See Yu was okay but they could have added more sauce. I will say that the portions are generous.

    Beef pad see yew
    Becca P.

Ordered delivery from Thai Spice yesterday at 6:15 and it took about an hour. I live a town over from West Roxbury. I got the beef pad see yew and pork dumpling soup (small). My bf got the spicy basil chicken with white rice. He loved the chicken. It was too spicy for him but he enjoyed the heat and the veggies. The rice was dry but the sauce from the spicy basil chicken helped add much needed moisture to the rice. My pad see yew was good. It was more tangy than sweet which I am not used to. The noodles were thick and doughy which I thoroughly enjoyed. The pork dumpling soup was favorite. The broth was hot and comforting. The dumplings were well seasoned (2 big ones) and delicious. There's was good mix of veggies in the broth from broccoli to zucchini. The small size was just right with my pad see yew. This soup would be good with white rice as an entree too. I would order from here again.

The shrimp summer rolls were good and I liked that there were mint leaves in them. We got the pho 29 special and the broth was hearty and they are generous with the different meats. The brisket and tendon pieces were high quality. I also liked the coconut pandan dessert custards. They come warm and are not too sweet--you can add a little whipped cream they come with for a bit of extra sweetness. I think this place might be one of my top two pho places in MA, so it's a shame we don't come to this area regularly. We placed an order today for orange chicken and white rice, but after pickup and arriving home we discovered the rice was missing. This is not an isolated incident, as items are frequently omitted from our orders. When my partner called to address the mistake, the initial offer of a simple credit for the rice was inadequate given the inconvenience. I followed up by offering to drive back to the restaurant to pick up the missing item, but this request was refused. Furthermore, I was disappointed by the lack of professionalism during our communication. After I requested to speak with a manager, the staff was reluctant to assist and eventually hung up on me while I was trying to resolve the issue so my partner could enjoy his meal as intended.

We walked into a space with a cute, unique quality to it, and the menu covers a wide range of Thai dishes including ramen, curries, noodles, and rice dishes, which gives a table with different preferences plenty of directions to go. The pad see ew and basil fried rice are both solid orders that cover familiar ground competently. The noodles on the pad see ew had decent wok character and the basil fried rice was well seasoned and aromatic, though neither dish pushed beyond what you would expect from a good neighborhood Thai spot. The mango sticky rice is a satisfying finish and the sticky rice texture was on point, though the mango itself can vary depending on the season. The Thai tea is well made and a natural complement to the spicier dishes on the table. Across everything we ordered, the food was consistently good without being particularly memorable, landing in that comfortable range where you leave satisfied but not necessarily thinking about it the next day. For a weeknight dinner close to home it works well and the portion sizes are reasonable for the price. The menu is large enough that there is probably a higher ceiling to explore on return visits with some of the more distinctive options like the khao soi, tamarind wings, or crispy duck. Service and pickup accuracy have been inconsistent based on different visits, so dining in tends to produce a smoother experience than ordering out. As a neighborhood Thai option in Needham, it fills the gap well enough.

There wasn't a strong ginger or garlic essence like I'm used to in a Thai brown gravy. My friends seemed happy with their curries though...so maybe I just ordered wrong. On Sunday, they have a very strong takeout business, which also impacted the ambience. At one point there were like six people waiting in line at the entrance. In such a small establishment, it changes the vibe to have people hovering and getting impatient and clarifying orders, with the frequent entrance/exit of new patrons. Our table was closest to the entrance so we probably "felt" it more than other tables would have. Still, for the "mom's night out" space that we were cultivating, I would've preferred to pay more to go someplace that had less of a takeout vibe. Note: there is only one all-gender restroom and it is for customer use only. Free parking out front.

There were 6 of us and we ordered 6 things, and fortunately we weren't ravenously hungry because otherwise we might've needed at least 3 more. We ordered mushroom salad, pad paa (a scrumptious concoction of veggies in sauce that comes with jasmine rice), crab fried rice, roasted brussel sprouts, grilled pork cheek, chicken ka praw. The order was ready for pickup within 30 minutes (which is what it predicted online). The food was freshly made, hot, ready to go at 8 p.m. and the staff were friendly and helpful. It looked like the customers there were having a fun time. We all really enjoyed every bite, particularly the pad paa with jasmine rice. It ended up being enough food for us as well.

The fried chicken skin was a standout. The crispy skin paired perfectly with a cold beer. The Pad Thai was also delicious, the Brussels sprouts were wonderfully crispy with a simple but flavorful seasoning, and the beef Massaman curry was rich and comforting--I'd definitely recommend ordering a bowl of rice to go with it. The pork cheek was incredibly tender and very filling. Not every dish was a hit, though. The crab fried rice was a bit disappointing. It was essentially regular fried rice with just a few pieces of crab sprinkled on top, so it didn't feel worth ordering. The crab curry was also a letdown. If you do order it, I'd recommend having it with rice instead of the rice noodles, as I think that would make it more enjoyable. Overall, the quality of the food and the excellent service made for a very enjoyable meal, and I'd happily come back to try more dishes.

Unfortunately, during our most recent visit, we experienced something extremely disturbing involving our 18-month-old child. From the moment we arrived, the server appeared visibly irritated and was openly complaining about work pressure and staffing issues. We understood that restaurants can be understaffed and stressful, so we initially tried to be patient and respectful. However, the situation became unacceptable when our infant child was seated in a high chair. The server brought plastic wrap, duct tape, and scissors toward the table and attempted to "wrap" the high chair area while saying that "kids make a mess." When I asked what she was doing, her behavior and comments felt completely inappropriate, offensive, and deeply upsetting. After that, the server repeatedly returned to our table with what we felt was hostile and abusive behavior toward our child and family. Even though we had already ordered nearly $200 worth of food, we chose to leave because no parent should ever feel their child is being mistreated. Children cannot always speak for themselves, especially infants and toddlers, and they deserve to be treated with kindness, patience, and dignity everywhere they go. I strongly encourage families and parents to think carefully before supporting businesses where children are not treated respectfully. This experience was heartbreaking for our family, and I hope the restaurant takes this matter seriously and ensures no other child or family experiences something similar again.
