LARGE Portions!!! I'm a pretty big eater and usually finish everything on my plate but here...I usually have a bit of leftovers. I usually get the Pad Thai with crispy chicken to go and they usually fill it up so much that the take out box doesn't close too well and they put a rubber band just to hold the box together. Also tried the country style pad thai which was a bit too flavorful for my taste so I couldn't eat too much all at once...so I ended up eating it at 3 different meals. Pad See Ew was good but it didn't have too much of the sweet flavor that I'm used to. The lady who works here is very sweet! You can tell she wants everything perfect for you so that you'll enjoy your order. The place is definitely more of a take-out place but they do have a few small tables. I think there's only one chef in the kitchen, so if you're getting take-out, definitely try calling 25 minutes in advance. read more

We had a very bad experieince here. First of all, our take out order was not ready when promised (15-20 minutes turned into 45 minutes). They were clearly understaffed and overwhelmed. When we finally got our food home, the soup was overly fish-saucey and inedible. Our order of fresh rolls, normally abundant with fresh mint and/or basil, had no taste. The rest of the order was mediorcre. I went back the next day with the uneaten soup and rolls to ask for a replacement and/or money back. I was told in no uncertain terms that the rolls are SUPPOSED to have no taste, ("NO TASTE, NO TASTE. NOT SUPOSED TO HAVE ANY TASTE. NOTHING I CAN DO") and the soup is "ALWAYS SAME. Lately, I've been having a weird craving for Thai food. I typically get take out orders in Quincy, MA on my way home from work or school. What unappealing is that it'll sit in my car for 20-30minutes before I can eat it when I get home. I was ecstatic to find a Thai food restaurant 5minutes from my house. My take out order consisted of Pad Thai (with chicken and shrimp) and Choo Chee Curry. There was a copious amount of food. As the woman packed my order, I see two containers full of curry - I proceeded to say, "I only ordered one Curry" - she reassured me that it was one order, smiled and said "it doesn't fit in one container." How did the food taste? It was amazing. The noodles in the Pad Thai was decadent. The noodles acted like a sponge and soaked up a lot of the delicious sauce. The chicken was moist, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. I'm always hesitant when it comes to ordering shrimp, a lot of places tend to over cook the shrimp leaving it very rubbery tasting. This however was not the case. The Choo Chee Curry was also amazing. I'm not a big fan of spicy, but when it comes to curry, I love it. I loved the string green beans because it still had that crunch when you ate it. I'm not a big fan of cooked carrots, but when it's trenched in choo chee curry, it can't go wrong. The other vegetables, like the zucchini and the peppers, were great too. However, the largest flaw was the wait time. When I entered the restaurant, it was already 10minutes past the ticketed time the lady told me over the phone. I was circling trying to find street parking. When I finally got to the restaurant, I had to wait an additional 10minutes before I got my food. I've got leftovers to last me all weekend!! Total two thumbs up for a college student. read more

The food here is pretty fantastic and the portions are huge. Most often times I get their pad thai with chicken and shrimp. It's very obvious that the ingredients are fresh and they don't skimp - you'll never find yourself wondering where all the chicken is in a dish. Based on the food alone, I'd give Thai Spice four stars. The bummer? The wait here can quite literally borderline OBSCENE! I call ahead pretty much every time I go here and I swear I think they have a policy where they don't start to cook the call-ahead order until the customer arrives. I've tried so many techniques to figure out the timing here. Last time I ordered, I called ahead, waited forty minutes, went across the street to West, enjoyed a scotch with my friend and THEN went to check on the order at Thai Spice. NO LIE we waited an ADDITIONAL 40 minutes for our order. Totally absurd and totally perplexed as to what the heck they are doing in there??? I continue to go here when I want Thai food, however. Advice: Be sure you have nothing to do and don't go if you've been stressed out at any point in the day. read more

So Thai Spice is amazing. The wait time is next to nothing and the food is amazing. I, by default, only order the chicken pad thai as I am a creature of habit, but also because it is delicious. It's not overdone in anyway just the right proportion of everything. I've never been disappointed in Thai Spice; their service always shine whether I get takeout or delivery. My friend's have ordered most of the other menu options and assure me they're delicious. Thai Spice is an asset to the neighborhood and I'm glad I get to eat your food. read more

I was pleasantly shocked by how good this place was. It looked modern from the outside but not very authentic. I was wrong, I had very good pad thai and the lunch menu was a great deal. I had pad thai, a soda and some small spring rolls for under $8. There is not a lot of seating so it is best to do take out. I will be back. read more

Thank heavens I found this place! There are few good asian restaurants, especially in and around JP, but this Thai jewel is fantastic! And the Deliver (so rare!) Great food, Great prices. I've eaten there once, very low key, a few tables, not much atmosphere, but they were so nice! Sometimes they give you a free special dessert too! LOVE this place! read more

Huge portions....super nice owner....tasty......makes you happy and that's why the 5 stars. The wait time was quoted 30 minutes and she called me in 30 minutes - this was a Saturday night. I ordered from here on a Tuesday night. The food took about 35-40 minutes to arrive, which is totally normal for the Boston area. The delivery girl was really sweet and called me when she got to the front door. I ordered pad thai and the fresh rolls. Both were DELICIOUS. The pad thai was a huge portion; big enough for two. The fresh rolls were 3, but nice and full and well made. I have no idea why people are complaining about the food from here. It's great. I have ordered from several other Thai places in the area and this place will be my first choice from now on! read more

We have been going here for a few years and love the food. I would give it 5 stars except for the problem with the long prep time that most reviewers have covered in detail. The quoted ready times are soooo bad that we have taken to calling back a second time to ask if our order is ready before heading down to pick up. So the food is generally good, but don't expect to get the food the same night you order it. They told us 45 minutes, they usually run slow so we waited an hour and went to get the food, they told us they were just putting it together as we came in, an hour later we asked again to see what was ready and they hadn't even started preparing the order. I wasted 2 hours of my life, and didn't get bowl of rice made. Waiting is bad, but being lied to and made to wait with the expectation your food is being put in a bag for an hour is inexcusable. read more

Was recommended this place. The reviews are right - you will wait and you will get a ton of food. I had pad thai and hubby had a crispy noodles dish. He thought his was only ok. While I enjoyed mine, Lams in Newton is better. However, I did get 4 meals out of it. It was Friday night at 5:30pm. I read the reviews and told hubby to call in our order before leaving. He called and they said "no wait." So hubby stopped in to order and waited 1 hour. read more

I tried this place for the first time the other night. I don't have many news things to say, but I will reiterate what's been posted about the wait times: add at least 15 minutes to your quoted time. The woman said it would take about 30 minutes for my food to be ready. Got there 35 minutes after ordering and waited another 15 minutes. The food was worth it. I had the basil pad thai with chicken and the tom yum soup with chicken. Both were excellent. Two big portions at $15 total. If you're looking for some good Thai takeout in the West Roxbury/Roslindale area, I'd recommend this place. read more

Food is great. Huge portions of very reasonably priced Thai food. They are generally packed. Certainly would recommend. Word of caution, you will wait for your food. After many years of being a loyal customer I must say I am very disappointed with new management. The portions have decreased and the prices have increased. The food was always fresh flavorful, but now I cant say the same. Ever since they remodeled the restaurant it has gone down hill. They made changes to the menu. Love this place. They do a tasty Pad Thai lunch special for 8.95 that comes with a drink and your choice of 2 crab rangoons or 2 small spring rolls. I have seen this place for a while but never had a chance to try the food. There are a few food spots on this building block, but it is very difficult to find a parking. I ordered chicken/shrimp Padthai and chicken coconut soup the other day for takeout, and I had to wait about 15 mins to get the food. Used to love this place - the wait time was worth it. Since they re-opened, it's a wierd experience. Some of the food is "pre-prepared" (like the Pad Thai) but other things need to be prep'd. So I was told I didn't need to call in my order, just come in and place order (more like a traditional take out place). When I got there, I still needed to wait 40 min given that one of my dishes needed to be cooked. The Pad Thai suffers from being so pre-prepared in such bulk too. Hope that this is just growing pain post the renovation and that they will work out the kinks soon. read more

I tried the drunken noodle and Thai tea for delivery. The food is great, but it took almost 50 mins to arrive. Too bad that a minimum delivery order is $15 which means the total cost would be around $20 after the delivery charge and tip. read more

Best Thai food ever. If you want a good Netflix night get thai spice to go. Seriously no ragrets, I love this place.
