Based off of reviews I had high expectations. Tom Kha is my favorite and perhaps I am a bit picky; but this was just terrible. So bland and the tofu wasn't even cooked/steamed--literally just cut up into chunks. 10 dollars for a bland soup I had to add my own fish sauce and spice to? Not worth it, not even close. My husband ordered the pad Thai and he was seriously underwhelmed. It was greasy, bland and not spicy at all though he ordered medium. We won't be back, and even though Siam Orchid has changed owners, we will stick with them. **Also, the fresh spring rolls were only lettuce with one small cube of chicken. read more

I'd give them 5 stars if they had a lunch combo! The service is friendly and accomodating. The food is delish but you are forced to order their usual dinner entrees instead of getting one of those yummy meals of soup, egg roll, entree and rice like you get at most other Asian spots. Instead, I had the pad gra prow with chicken; comes with steamed rice. It had ground chicken where I was expecting white breast slices but that's OK. If i could give 1/2 star i would. I used to like this place and have ordered few times from here . My food i always order with spice level 2 and myself being an Asian , i can handle 2. But i guess overnight they decided to change the spice level meaning of 2. The food was very very spicy. Almost to the level 5. Delicious. Great flavors. Reasonable prices. Fantastic service. Easy atmosphere. This will be an easy restaurant to make a habit of. The parking is right off the door. I could bring my mother due to the ease of parking and getting in the door. Husband had the drunken noodles and enjoyed every bite. I had the house special it was awesome. We ordered the dumplings as an appetizer. The spice level we requested was nice for both of us. I don't like too much spice and husband needs a little more. I just ordered the vegetable Tom Yum and the chicken Massaman Curry... both are absolutely divine! I will FOR SURE be ordering again. I ordered both at a level 3 spicy (I love spicy food) and it was just enough spice to give me the burn while still allowing me to enjoy the flavor of the food. They were even kind enough to write me a note saying that they included chili powder packets to increase the spice if they didn't make it spicy enough for me. Generous portions and good prices. The crab fired rice was decent. However the Pad Thai and the Pad See Ew sauces were completely off. The sauces both have some very over-the-top sweet-and-sour flavor. I expect the pad see ew to be mostly savory but it was mainly just very sweet and sour. This is a wonderful addition to the SL valley culinary scene. This is an authentic Thai restaurant, that is true to the owners roots. Been here several times and am continually impressed. The Tom Yum soup is the best I've had anywhere. And I frequent Thai establishments. Had the pork belly and Chinese asparagus special. Awesome!!! My husband and I love Thai Spoon. However, we can only say good things about their Pad Thai and Num Tok Salad. We should explore more things on the menu, but we love our pad Thai. Their portions are very generous, I can never finish it in one sitting, and leftover Pad Thai is the best. It's doesn't have to much sauce, and I love the fresh carrots and bell sprouts over it. Coming from California, it's been hard to find good pad Thai in SLC, so we're happy that we found this spot and so close to our home. read more

I ordered the yellow curry, it was delicious. It was super flavorful and tasted fresh. They are only doing takeout and delivery as of right now, I ordered at the restaurant and I received my order pretty fast, I waited about 20 minutes. The only thing I would say is that their level of spiciness is 1-5, but their spice levels were really high for me. I ordered a 2 thinking I could handle it but it was hot! I'm Mexican and can usually tolerate spicy foods but I could barely eat it. If you can handle a good amount of spice, I would suggest ordering a 1. If not order a zero! read more

The restaurant has a nice pleasant feel, very clean and happy. The staff is courteous. The food tastes good and is priced right, but the portion control is so strict that we left hungry. 6 small pieces of string bean, meat that couldn't be found and overall, just skimpy. We spent $24 including tip and didn't feel we had hardly eaten. Don't expect alot from one dish, you might be well fed ordering 2 or 3 main dishes, that would be about $75. Best Thai food in Utah. Bold statement? Nope. This is a scientific fact. Let me elaborate. I have tried nearly everything on this menu and it's AALLLLL good. They make specialty regional dishes that will blow your mind. The stick rice is baller. The sticky rice ICE CREAM (yes you heard me), is unreal!! I am a big foodie but this is the first time I've ever left a restaurant review. I just ordered lunch from grubhub and am really impressed with this place. I ordered the Drunken Noodles, which has always seemed like a good dish to me, but I've yet to find a place in salt lake city that has delivered a really good drunken noodle dish, until Thai Spoon. I received my order piping hot (thanks grubhub) and I was surprised with how fresh it was. The noodles were great, sauce was on point, vegetables cooked perfectly, and most of all the chicken was fresh! It wasn't chewy and re-heated like it is at many of the Thai places around here. The only warning I have is that the spice is real. I love spicy dishes and went with a level 3. I think it was the perfect heat (it was hot) and wouldn't advise going above that, even for spicy food lovers. All in all, i'm really impressed with this place and will definitely be ordering again! read more

Recently discovered this little gem and it's my new Thai go-to! I loved being able to place an order through the Yelp app, that was a blessing while I was waiting for my kiddos to finish their baseball practice, then swung by on my way home to pick it up. Their massaman curry is actually packed with food (as opposed to being mostly liquid and only a little meat and veggies like some other spots), and their paid thai is delicious.
