    Chicken pad Thai

Tried this place for the first time today. Service was great. Everything we ordered was delicious. I especially liked the gyoza and dumpling miso soup. I've never tried anything like it before and it was soooo good! We will definitely be back!

We went to this spot before closing time and were serviced super quick and the food was delicious! I used my Yelp checkin for the Indian pancake and it was so good with the dip it came with. It was kind of a mix between naan bread and a tortilla. The salad that came with my food was ok, but my friend was not a fan of the. I omit chicken soup. She said it lacked flavor. I ordered the AAC roll which is vegan and it was delicious. I also got the Panama vegetable curry with fried rice. It was so good! My friend got the steak fried rice and the shrimp tempura roll. She liked both but wished the steak was cut up instead of in strips. Food and service was great and the place was nice and clean! We will definitely be back!

We were not impressed with the sushi, maybe we ordered the wrong things, but the tuna in the King Tuna was a weird red color (not normal red). The Ninja Roll texture was too much for my liking. The tempura frying overcooked my salmon in the roll and made everything mushy. I did enjoy the jalapeño in the yellowtail. I used my checkin for a free Indian pancake and the curry sauce I could drink, but the pancake was not the best texture. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience was very dark. Had spot lights pointing to each table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servers were attentive and sweet.

I've never been here before & I liked it. The atmosphere is calm, could possibly be too dark for some. The service was ok, communication could be a little better. But honey the FOOD!!! Everything was fresh and delicious, there wasn't any greasy or heavy items. I'll definitely return.

Sushi is always phenomenal. I also really like the udon noodles and the ramen. Lots of choices. Service is very fast and presentation is always on point. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm a big fan of the relaxed lighting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Been our favorite spot for years. I've got quite a few pictures lol. We usually go Mon-thurs to get the buy 2 get 1 on the chef special roll

    Pad Thai.

The Seafood soup was AWESOME and Pad Thai was so bad that I don't even know if the person who made it should even be allowed in Thai food establishment. Clumpy dry noodles, bland and exactly the number of miles away from any flavor that Thailand is from here. I'll go back for the soup but NEVER for anything else.

Amazing rolls ! Food is great ! Vibes are nice !

We got a to-go order. The miso soup with wontons was good. Really wanted to love the sushi but it was just okay, I have definitely had better in the DFW area. Somehow I was expecting it to be really great because of all the great reviews of sushi they had. The salmon roll some pieces where a little mushy. If I give it another try will try more Thai dishes instead.

Having recently moved to Crandall, my wife and I wanted to try a local restaurant for dinner. Scanning through Yelp, Thai Square Sushi caught our eye. Having craved sushi for some time, we decided to give this place a try. As soon as we stepped in, we felt a bit underdressed. This is the type of restaurant you want to visit in nice clothes, as it is elegant and romantic. During the week, they have a "buy three get one free offer," which was welcoming. Following our server's recommendations, the sushi rolls we ordered were fantastic. We were delighted with every bite we took. Besides having enjoyed our visit so much, there is a concern I would like to address. If you want to offer something on Yelp when customers check-in, you should train your staff on such. When I checked in on Yelp, an offer for a complimentary Indian Pancake Dessert showed on the screen. I showed it to our server, who immediately got the free item for us. Yet, when we got the bill, we were charged for the Indian Pancake. We called the person who bought the check, and she tried to explain that it wasn't free. Our server stepped in and said that it was OK. A few moments later, another lady, who I assume was the manager, asked our server to step outside and yelled at him. My wife and I felt very uncomfortable with this situation and would've gladly paid for the pancake, which was delicious, by the way. If you don't want to honor offers you put on Yelp, either don't offer them, train your employees, or wait for the clients to leave before yelling at the staff. Regardless, we loved this place, will be back, and will recommend it to anyone we know.

    Their spotlight!

We just moved into the area and we were starving and this place did not disappoint. The ambiance is nice, I like the little spotlight they shine over your table that accentuates the food. This gave the place a romantic vibe too. Upon checkin in, we got a free Indian pancake and it was delicious. The dipping sauce was so good! Then we got the 2 for one sushi. As far as I can remember, I got the dancing ell roll and king tuna roll. I cannot remember which once my husband got but we cannot forget how tasty and fresh the fish tasted! We are very happy to have a good sushi place around us. We cannot wait to try their Thai food!

The Pad Thai was not even close to what it should be. Don't recommend this place if you are looking for the traditional taste of Thai food.

Best place to get sushi. Hands down. Very fresh tasting and flavorful. Their pad Thai is one of our favorite dishes, too.

I started with the garlic edamame, Kani salad, and gyoza. The gyoza are pan fried perfectly! Some places fry them too hard or deep fry them. The kani salad is a mix of shredded cucumber, spicy crab mix with spicy mayo, and roe. I ordered the Angry Dragon roll and the Rockwall roll. The Rockwall roll is sweet with coconut shrimp wrapped, topped with spicy crab mix and coconut sauce. It's delicious! The atmosphere is very nice and intimate. Darker in the dining room with table lamps. You're not looking around the room at everyone, but more focused on just your party. I will definitely be returning to Basil Cafe more often! Can't wait to try more sushi! Thanks again Annika for a great experience!

Overall, the food was solid with a few standout items. The spicy tuna roll was excellent -- fresh, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the meal. The ramen was also quite good and comforting. The hibachi steak, however, was a bit of a surprise. The steak was cooked exactly to the temperature I requested, but it (along with the vegetables) arrived slightly cold, which took away from the experience. The fried rice also lacked a bit of seasoning and could have used a little more flavor. While this wasn't a bad dining experience by any means, I'm still on the search for that standout spot in the area that truly checks all the boxes. That said, there are definitely some dishes here worth coming back for.
