I live close so it's convenient to grab something to eat but in all honesty the woman who runs the cash register is rude. She is also the owner. The food is expensive for no reason at all. This is the same owner of Siriouthay Thai Deli. It was a restaurant and grocery store but is now exclusively dedicated to the restaurant business. We came with a group of four and had Spring Rolls, Egg Rolls, Drunken Noodle, Pad Thai, Lo Mein, and Red Curry. All were very good and had some unique flavor to them. The worst curry , my husband won't even eat it and he eats everything. The lo mein was ok. But not worth the price.

We've eaten at a few of these and this is easily the worst one. Two entree's, spring rolls & egg rolls was $41+. There was so much mint in the spring rolls they were inedible. No kidding....inedible. Service was friendly. The food came out one thing at a time. Took 10 minutes to get it all. They weren't busy. No big take out orders. Egg rolls are good but about the size of a thick pencil. Pad Thai was fair. Not flavorful. Orange something was dull looking and had too much ginger. The only positive was the woman manning the counter was very good the day we were there. read more

Thai Tempo is a nice new spot in Shaka P that brings traditional Thai flavors to a semi fast food dining experience. I went with the sesame chicken and ordered it spicy but when it came out they forgot to add the heat. I did put a little of the Thai pepper paste on my dish which really heated it up in a hurry! Really good flavor yet smaller portion sizes than I expected for the price. I think that if I were to go back I would try the red curry chicken. It seemed to be a big hit! read more

Stopped here for lunch the other day and loved the egg rolls. I had the Pad Thai which was good too but the egg rolls were the best I've ever had. It appears that they are a new business as they didn't have a permanent sign on the building yet but the inside was clean and bright and appealing. Food is above average but it's more of a take out place with tables should you decide to eat in. Plenty of food choice and variety. We had the house fried rice and red curry, which is nice. However, the presentation with take out box is a huge disappointment. I wipe give 4 if it's for take out and 2 if I dine in. The owner is friendly if that helps. read more

Can't say a bad thing. As a matter of fact, all yummy good things. Items are made to order and you can tell. I had the yellow curry w white rice and tofu. The tofu was perfectly fried and the curry was smooth, smoky and mildly spicy. I've never had fresher tasting cream puffs in my life and the egg rolls (once they cooled down to a minor burn temperature - they're hot AF so be careful!) were light and crisp both of which were enhanced a thousandfold once dipped in their glorious homemade sweet and spicy dipping sauce. I Am Now A Regular I moved to Shakopee a few years ago and I know I love some intense delicious flavors. This place has it in spades! Their laab is amazing. When you order it spicy, they will in fact make it spicy! Not like alot of those places that are wimpy...by the end of it, you will be sweating with desire for more delicious meat. I usually either eat the beef or chicken fully cooked with no tripe (Too American for tripe), but it comes with sticky rice and lettuce leaves so you are good to go! A heavy recommendation. My 2nd favorite dish is their papaya salad, packed with intense flavors and crisp papaya. Again...they will make it spicy! I like to eat ghost peppers for fun and even this dish makes me take a few tries to finish it based on the intensity of the heat (Only if you ask for it), but that pungent, amazing, full flavor keeps me coming back for more! Other dishes that blow my mind because of the perfectly balanced flavors are their Tom Yum Soup and Red Curry Chicken. Their Bahn Mi and Steam Buns are great too. This is a neat local Thai place with excellent food. You order at the counter and seat yourself if you're dining in. Our appetizer appeared at our table in a flash, and our entrees followed just a couple minutes later. The Spring Rolls contain shrimp, pork, and veggies and the come with a peanut dipping sauce. They're delicious and HUGE. An order is three rolls 7.5 inches long and 1.5 inches in diameter. We took one home to save room for our entrees. I had the Red Curry Soup with Pork, it comes with a bowl of white rice on the side for mixing into the soup. It was delicious, with enough heat to be tasty, but not so much it burned me out. My wife had the Chicken Pad Thai. It was good, too, but she'll ask for it a little hotter next time. (There are plenty of complimentary condiments to add more heat on your own.) The dining area is no frills, so don't expect a fancy table arrangement or elaborate decorations. They seem to do a lot of take-out business, as plenty of people came and went while we were eating. The grocery side of the business has been deemphasized . The grocery aisles pictured in the photos have been removed, and there is now a more limited selection of specialty grocery items for sale. The owner who took our order and delivered our food is a super nice lady. Siriouthay is a keeper. We'll be back. read more

Went in to order 4 bubble teas. We waited 20 minutes, the price is higher than most bubble teas places($5.99) and if you wanted to add tapioca it's an additional cost of $.99. When we finally had it, we ended up throwing all 4 bubble teas in the trash. It was powdery and super sweet. It was absolutely the worse bubble teas we've ever had. I have eaten here only twice. The first time I had their namesake salad and it was just okay. Fresh and all that but not much flavor. It was very Americanized in my opinion. Today my husband and I returned to try it one more time. My red curry lunch bowl was fantastic. It was perfectly spicy enough to clear my sinuses and cause that love/hate relationship with the heat level. Plus it had basil in it! It's been a while since I have enjoyed a dish that much. My husband ordered the same thing twice now--pork with pineapple. Apparently, he remembered how much he liked it the first time and got it again. His dish was not spicy but the flavors melded well. A local favorite of my husband's and mine. I don't prefer the Pad Thai but the Lomein, Drunken Noodles, Chicken Laab and Kout Poon are staples in my family. The owners are extremely friendly and I see them often making recommendations to first time customers. I chuckle every time I call in an order though because they don't announce and I have to ask if it's Thai Tempo. A few times they've put me on hold and forget to come back but are always extremely apologetic when I come in to order instead. I've been going to this place for about 4 years ago. It used to be half grocery store/half restaurant, but I think I might have been the only person that used the grocery store, so it has now transitioned to full restaurant. The food is delicious and spiced very well, the staff is all friendly and the place is very clean. I love that it's family owned and that they really seem to care about the quality of their food. I've tried this place twice. I don't know what it is, but I can't eat it. The last time I ordered food, I tried the pad thai. As soon as I open my mouth to take a bite, the smell/taste is of burning plastic. The entire dish was like that, it tasted like plastic noodles, I couldn't get it down. This is the worst Boba drink we ever have. For $6, I would expect a decent drink. Wrong! The drink itself taste very powdering, and the Boba is either as hard as a rock, or as chewy as rubber. Not sure if we would go back try their food. read more

The quality and flavor of the food at Thai Tempo overwhelmed me during my first visit. The red curry has the right amount of heat to complement the rich broth. The unassuming location hides an absolute gem. It's reminiscent of local eateries on Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown show where you'd rarely find such exceptional food. This cute Thai and Asian deli/grocery is truly an unexpected surprise. The whole store is bright and clean, and the cafe section seats about 20 at mod white tables equipped with ALL of the sauces and chili pastes you could possibly need ... but may not. We tried the tofu pad thai, pork lo mein, and the sesame chicken, and all were piping hot, well seasoned, and absolutely fantastic. The menu is HUGE, so we'll have to stop back to try the egg rolls, pho, and curry dishes. And we definitely will; the grocery is petite, but well-stocked and organized, so we'll probably make this our go-to Asian grocery going forward. Definitely worth the short drive from the cities. Can't wait to stop back! read more
