    thum #64 - Tum-Sua (Lao-Style Vermicelli Papaya Salad)

The first thing that caught my attention was the parking spaces; I was pleased to see that the restaurant had designated parking, which is definitely a benefit. My long awaited Yen Ta Fo hit the spot, I didn't have to add more seasoning to my broth since it was already perfect, and the papaya salad is one of the best I've had in the Twin Cities. The staff was prompt and attentive. I would definitely recommend it.

Vibrant restaurant. Prompt service. They serve the food as soon as it's ready. Great peanut sauce. Loved the peanut Satay. Excellent beef boat soup and fried fish dish. Great experience.

Heck yes, pad Thai! I ordered pork pad thai today without green onion, medium heat, and was not disappointed. I ordered pork belly a while ago and that was great, too. Would recommend, a staple of Frogtown!

I would like to start off by saying this place has been on my go to list, however i havent had time until today. I would say the food was great. My friend and I got many different dish and they all came out great! One thing i would say is the customer service is really not that great. We waited a while for them to take our orders and the food took a while to come out. I understand that they were short staff. The food was great each one has a different taste. The soup was super yummy. The stir fry basil was super yummy. When they said that its spicy they mean it. I love spicy food. Also, the food wasnt salty and it was super good. The thai tea is kind of water down. I would recommend this place.

We ordered basil beef stir fry and the eggplant plant and shrimp with ground pork stir fry. The beef was not good at all, the meat was very very dry( if you couldn't tell from the pic, it was leather ) , we can't taste the basil at all. The eggplant was better but a bit too salty. We wouldn't hurry back.

This place is authentic, delicious and super affordable! The menu here is overwhelming (expect for dessert options) but that also means more dishes to try and there are some dishes here that are usually hard to find at other Thai restaurants in the area (like the Thai beef jerky and boat noodle soup). My favorite thing here is the pad-see-ew w/ shrimp (spicy spice level) and deep-fried pork rib or deep-fried pork- the sauce that comes with it is sooo good that I always order extra sauce (with a side of rice too ofcourse). What I love about this place is that when you order spicy, it is actually spicy since I love spicy food! I wouldn't recommend getting the tri-color (or the desserts in general) here because is it pretty plain and just filled with canned fruit. My only two criticisms is that it is dirty here sometimes (a couple times I have had to ask them to clean the tables again) and the service is a hit of miss (sometimes very friendly, sometimes they seem to have forgotten about us...lol). I would recommend take out! Overall, my fam and I are happy to support!

    Mango sticky rice

Bangkok Thai Deli on University Ave is fantastic! I found my new favorite soup, Tom Yum, here--so flavorful! We also ordered pineapple fried rice, water spinach chili, egg rolls, and their incredible sticky mango rice, which was the highlight of the meal. Great staff, a clean atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Stir fried pea tips with garlic sauce ($14). Really tasty.

With two locations that are both consistently amazing, I've never had a single subpar experience. The restaurants are clean, simple and have great service. One thing I really appreciate is how clearly they label gluten-free and vegetarian options. The menu is packed with choices for different dietary restrictions. Every dish feels thoughtfully crafted and full of bold, authentic flavor. My go-to favorites are the pad thai, green curry, drunken noodles, Thai fried rice, yellow curry, and the spring rolls, they truly never miss. If you're new to Thai food, you can't go wrong starting with the pad thai and fried rice. If you like a little spice and depth of flavor, definitely add a curry to the mix. The portions are generous (perfect for sharing), and everything is consistently fresh and delicious. I can't recommend Coconut Thai enough!

We went before a show at the Amsterdam bar. It wasn't busy when we arrived, but the restaurant did fill in so it wouldn't be a bad idea to make a reservation if there's an event going on at the grand casino arena (formerly xcel energy center) because I could definitely see it getting busy! Their menu is clearly labeled with what's vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, and gluten-free. The staff were also knowledgeable and able to answer questions about the menu items! The decor is very cute, and there are definitely good photo ops in the restaurant when it's not too busy! As for the food: The mango sticky rice is good and a shareable portion! I have no complaints there! I ordered pad see ew as well with medium spice, which is my go-to spice level when trying a new restaurant. I really didn't notice any spice, so I would order it spicier in the future! Tofu was my protein of choice, and their tofu was very crispy which I enjoyed! There were fewer vegetables than in the pad see ew at other places (no carrots or Chinese broccoli, just regular broccoli), and it is a smaller serving size compared to some of my favorite dishes places! With that being said, I did enjoy it overall and would come back next time I'm in the area! I would try ordering with a higher level of spice and maybe try a different entree next time!

First when it was on St. Peter near 7th Street. Great buffet weekday lunch, amazing Pad Thai. We ate there Saturday afternoon and my wife and I both ordered Chicken Pad Thai. It came out dark with no onions or green onions and cooked a a ton of oil. On a scale of 1-10 it was below a1! I will never go back. $43.00 for two orders of Pad Thai and two glasses of ice water . I've ordered from On's dozens of times and they honestly deserved this review a lot sooner…read more Everything I've ever eaten from On's is authentic, delicious and bursting with flavor. I've tried numerous menu items, including their Laab, Pad-ga-pow, mango salad, pineapple curry, pad Thai and Prik Prik Moo Grop. There's another dish I've tried there that seems it's no longer on their menu but it was a curry seafood dish served in an actual coconut. It was amazing! My favorites so far are the mango salad and pad Thai. The #70 Moo Grop dish is a close one for top picks but my only complaint is the pork chunks weren't my preferred texture. The sauce, however, is a show stealer. I could literally drink it! It's that good. I've personally never had a negative eating experience with Ons but my husband did complain to me about their pineapple curry. He orders his food at the spiciest level, and I only ever tried a bite of his, but he thought it was very sour and tasted pickely. It was not the best curry I've had but I didn't think it was bad. I'm a seasoned Thai food eater - it's basically all I eat. So I've tried all of the Thai spots in the twin cities. On's is sitting in my top two. I've never eaten inside the restaurant so I can't say much for the service, but I have been in the restaurant to pick up orders and there isn't much to say for its ambiance. It's a very casual setting. My only complaint about Ons is that they serve their curry in shallow containers which makes for smaller portions. If they served their curry in soup containers and gave larger portions, they'd be my go-to spot every time. Right now, my other favorite Thai spot has them beat on curry portions. But that doesn't stop me from coming back for other menu items.

The fish cake in Mohinga was tasty as well as the fried peas. The boat noodle has very rich flavor. Broth was good and they gave generous amount of bean sprouts. La Phat Ye was good. In terms of food, there is a mixture of Burmese, Thai, and Karen dishes, and each one that my friends and I have ordered has been a hit. The tea leaf salad has amazing texture because of peanuts and fried garlic, which provide crunchiness, and has amazing flavor because of lemon juice, fish sauce, and tomatoes. The noodle salad has a light taste without adding the given lime piece, and then the rich nutty taste gets evoked and elevated upon adding lime juice. The zaap crispy has very well-seasoned fried chicken pieces, and medium spice level gives it a good amount of flavor. The shan khao soi is so creamy and tasty that even tasting the curry broth itself is a sensational experience, and the chicken leg included literally has "fall off the bone" meat. The boat noodle has a mixture of sweetness and savor, while the sweet flavor does not overpower anything at all. Finally, the mohinga clearly has fish cake flavor and texture fully infused, making it authentically delicious. We also ordered the knyaw iced salad, which was a mixture of ice along with crackers and other types of sweet ingredients. I thought it was very similar to a type of Vietnamese dessert called chè ba màu (three color pudding), and fully enjoyed it. The establishment only had one dessert, and I thought that was sufficient. While the street contains many excellent restaurants, I personally believe that this establishment stands out in terms of taste. I must also mention that since my friends and I arrived when barely anyone else was there each time we had gone there, we never experienced any service delays that some have mentioned in their reviews. I probably will give this place a 5 rating anyway even if I experience slowness, although I hope I don't.
