We've been Thai Thai fans since the beginning. And remain fans after the transfer of ownership. The "new" owners are still very invested and responsive and involved. They care about the food and the patrons. This time, we got takeout. We tend to alternate between Thai Thai and Thai Express (both are wonderful and authentic, with great flavors and spice). We got some of our favorites: drunken noodles (pad see Mao), packed with egg noodles, zucchini, broccoli, onions, bell peppers, carrots, mushrooms, and basil. They really do shove this dish full of spice and fresh veggies. I got the level 4, which is a level below "Thai hot." Honestly, I will say they probably serve things hotter and more accurately in the restaurant. I didn't think my takeout was a level 4 . . . certainly nowhere near the next level of Thai hot . . . I suspect this is because they expect palm colored people to shy away from spice, and if not in person, they can't confirm what they REALLY mean when they say "spicy" or "hot." We also got the pineapple fried rice and the lo mein. Honestly, a lot of our dishes overlapped, but we were fine with that because we knew this food would be high quality and would carry over into lunch the next day. Thai Thai offers authentic takes on all of the above as well as pad see ew, lard na, pad wooden, various soups. They offer the whole range of noodles, from thick and beefy egg noodles to stir-fried glass noodles. Fried rice with pineapple, sriracha, crab, sardines. In addition to noodles of all textures and sizes, they also offer a multitude of flavors: ginger, veggies, brown sauce, basil eggplant, sweet and sour, garlic, cashew, peanut, pepper, sesame . . . or even "three tase," or their special three flavor sauce. Tons of curry . . . red, green massaman, panang. Meaty dishes like basil steak, BBQ pork ribs, roasted duck, lamb . . . seafood like scallops, lobster, salmon, pompano. The service is lackluster, decor inside and outside is great, main dish was not well prepared. Order was taken drink was dropped off. Appetizer and Soup came out quickly. Main dish dropped by someone else. Didn't see waiter for another 20-25 minutes. Caught him walking by and had to stop and ask for check. The decor is fantastic. Outside and inside. Ordered the Massaman Cury, came with soup and spring roll. Soup was bland, spring roll was crisp and full of vegetables. Massaman Cury broth was good but that is where it stopped. Spent a little time last evening enjoying some food from Thai Thai. The menu is full of options to accompany steak, chicken, shrimp all the way to octopus, if you desire. The food is fresh and the wait-staff is helpful and attentive. I had the combination plate with the Garlic Sauce and my wife had chicken with the Sweet & Sour. Pick the protein and add the veggies and cooking style, and eat! Best part! You pick the number for the heat level. 1 is low and no idea how far up but 3 is hot enough for me and I like hot. Two of us ate for 30.00 (water to drink) which is reasonable. Give it a try and it could become your new favorite! read more

Okay, so it's been a while since I've left a review. I live in Nashville TN and work in Owensboro Ky, I met a patient who told me about this little restaurant because I have been searching for good Thai food. Hands down best Thai food I have had in years!!! I ordered the traditional papaya salad Thai spicy ( I love spicy food and I am Thai) and I also ordered the chicken larb, with sticky rice. The food was amazing and reminded me of my mom's home cooking. It has been hard finding real authentic South East Asian food, this little gem blew my mind, and will be going out of my way to go back and try the rest of the menu. The papaya was flavorful, spicy, and sour. The Chicken Larb was so damn good, you can taste the rice powder in it! Sticky rice was on point and they even brought me the sticky rice mango dessert! Wanderlust, led us to this Little Gem !! And it was Delightful, from Start To End!! Being devotees to Bowling Green's annual car festivities, each year, Beau & I come here, & sample its various cuisines. Also, being devotees, to the culinary uniqueness of Thai, we just had to stop by!! But how, had we not known of this place before, & all it had in store?!! Upon entrance through the back passageway, the boy upfront, tried to seat us in the much too sunny dining area. Though, at my request, he obliged, leading to a shady nook, sheltered from the busyness of the main dining area. Seated in our secluded spot, with dim lighting, felt cosy & calming.. Then, after ordering, we continued to gaze upon the exotic opulence all around us! A historic home, transformed to palatial opulence, ornately trimmed with accents of gold & Thai styled decor! Even from the outside, the charming red brick historic home, is laced with scrolls of fancy white gingerbread! What a feast of fancy flourishes, especially inside, abounding over our heads!! But, of course we were here to dine! And, our Feast From The Far East, was Divinely Delectable! From Beau's mango shake with boba pearls; to our spring rolls; to our wonton soup; to our brimming bowls of Penang & Mussuman curries; & to our platter of fried rice--all were presented prettily & seasoned perfectly ! We were happy to tell our boy server so, who was pleased to learn, their version of Mussuman curry, was very praiseworthy !! For dessert, we finished with mango sticky rice! It was scrumptious indeed, along with my piping pot of Thai tea ! After our spectacular dinner, we bade our boy server goodbye, yet were in for another surprise! For as we came outside, a sweet striped kitty, came meowing, wishing to be petted!! As we stood coddling our new furry friend, we made yet another!! As a lovely lady emerged, saying she is the owner, named Tata, & her adopted feral kitty, is named Wendy!!! Indeed, both were So Charming !!! What lively conversation ensued, over Tata's beautiful kitty, & beautiful establishment, both of which, we could not praise enough!! After exchanging many pleasantries & well wishes, with hands folded, our host bowed, graciously bidding us, good night !! We needed some long life noodles for the birthday boy on our way back from Mammoth Cave NP to Nashville. Quite a few Asian options in Bowling Green, and Thai sounded the best! We kept it simple with a Thai coffee and an order of Pad Thai to share. The Pad Thai hit the spot! Skimpy on the bean sprouts, which I personally appreciated since I don't care for them. Very no nonsense service. Our food came out quickly, which we appreciated. Minus points since the plates they gave us were dirty. We walked in around 7pm on a Thursday and were seated right away. I have been going to Thai Thai for years, and my last experience was a disappointment. Why does it feel like a romantic betrayal when your favorite restaurant does you dirty? My noodles were undercooked, and my partners fried rice was greasy, and had very little meat in it. the steamed dumplings were amazing, and the atmosphere is so cute. i'm not too sure what happened, but this last time has us hesitant to ever come back. read more

This is my absolute favorite Thai restaurant ... and I've been to many! The service is excellent with the (very friendly) owner making regular appearances to greet and assist patrons. The food is so perfect! I always get the chicken pad Thai and the fresh rolls with shrimp. (And a box to take home lots of leftovers!) We have only visited this quaint little restaurant in a very suburban area near downtown on two occasions, but both times the food, ambience, and service were all worth the visit. Prices are very reasonable, especially in this post-Plandemic era. Possibly the only suggestion I would have for improvement is the parking issue; if you arrive at a busy time, you will have to find the parking lot across the street and that's not easy to do after dark. However, due to the congested nature of the area, I'm not sure of a viable solution. read more

The food was good, but we couldn't tell what the food was when we were dividing it up as we all got kinds of curry with different spice levels and meat. The best Thai food I have had in town. I believe I've had them all - but Thai Thai has the best ingredients, dish choices, serving sizes and flavors! They also have squid! I can almost never find this as a protein choice and it's one of my favorites so to these guys. Their fish sauce is also the best - and they aren't stingy with it! We've been coming to and ordering from Thai Thai for about 3 years now, several times per year. Previously, I would have recommended them wholeheartedly. Sadly, my latest experience leaves much to be desired. The food was below average (which is unusual), but it was the service that was absolutely awful. The waiter was curt, impatient, and unhelpful. We arrived shortly after they opened at 4 and were the only people there for a bit, but we hadn't even ordered drinks before he was pushing us to order main courses. He never checked on us after we got our food; we had to ask another waiter for help. Later on, after the other waiter told him that we needed assistance, I asked about the 2 for 1 happy hour special, but he curtly responded that they were all the same brand, but different styles (despite the menu listing them in separate bullet points) Either way, there they were out of the wine we wanted, so we ordered two other styles, both at the same price (and from what he said previously, the same brand). When the bill comes, I point out that we were charged for 2 instead of 1 as expected. Only then does he explain that both styles of wine must be the same in order to qualify for the 2 for 1 happy hour special. It is not unreasonable to expect decent service when you're spending ~100 (before tip) at an establishment. Maybe they changed owners or management recently, and the transition was fully completed, but this was absolutely awful. Going to give this place a long, long break, maybe they'll get it together in that time. Will check out some of the other Thai restaurants in town or drive to Nashville for better food and better service. With regards to the food - the crab rangoons were cold and bland, the spring rolls had only cabbage in it, where before you'd get some other veggies in there, the main dishes were extra soupy, but at least they were warm. read more

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in BG, but last night I was underwhelmed with my food. I ordered the Spring rolls, but felt like all it had was cabbage and wonton wrapper, like it was missing other ingredients. The fried tofu app was delicious, but the pineapple rice was bland. Too many onions and the pineapple was bland and had no flavor. I'm surprised canned pineapple didn't have any more flavor. Not sure what was going on last night in the kitchen, but I'm disappointed my food didn't taste any better. read more
