Probably one of the best Thai restaurants I ever been to! Even the ones in NYC cannot compete with this place. Their Thai iced tea was amazing and not diluted compared to most places. Their curry puffs were as soft as a pillow (not exaggerating) and they gave out generous portions for my drunken noodles. Group of friends and I were exhausted and starving after a long day snowboarding in the Poconos and as indecisive as we all are when it comes to choosing a place to eat, we figured we'd take a chance with an Asian place... out in the middle of no where.. I don't even know where to begin - from the decor, to the complimentary chips, to the appetizers, salads, to every bite of our entree, everything was just made to perfection! We ended up ordering a bunch of different dishes and sharing family style and this turned out to be a great idea. Their portion sizes are pretty generous as well. Don't skimp out on the dessert - their mango sticky rice and their coconut pudding...is absolutely to die for.. I usually go with the standard chicken pad Thai when dining Thai, but this time I decided to try something new. I got the pad cashew nut for my entree with a side of coconut sweet rice. The perfect mix of sweet and savory. I would compare the entree as a mix between the chicken used in pad Thai with similar seasoning with a mix of pineapple fried rice. My boyfriend and I decided to stop by this restaurant from recommendations by some locals. Upon walking into this restaurant we felt the atmosphere was very welcoming and pleasant. We ordered the specials of the day and we were not disappointed! For the appetizer, we had the scallops in a Thai coconut sauce, for the entrees my boyfriend had the lamb shank special while I had the sea bass special. We also shared their famous "drunken noodles." Overall we were very impressed with the preparation and presentation of our meals! The only comment I would say, is when we ordered a lava cake for dessert. The cake itself was more like a dense brownie and didn't have any of the chocolate lava that we expected. Not the cheapest but I have not once been disappointed here. I usually get the beef salad which is phenomenal and has so much flavor you don't even feel like you're eating a salad. They have good pad Thai as well as other dishes like padkaprow and different Thai curries. I've also tried their Thai iced tea numerous times which have come out equally good all times. Delicate bamboo shoots, fresh bell peppers, peas, eggplant, and garden fresh Thai basil leaves in coconut milk made up the Green Curry as it was accompanied by its best friend...White Rice. Masaman Curry with Beef was to my right. A wonderful peanut curry mild and tasty with fresh carrots, onions, potatoes, and ground peanuts. Another dish you should not miss! Across the table was another order of Masaman Curry but with chicken as well as their Lemongrass Pork dish. Right off of foxtown hill road at the top of the hill, this little gem sits in a very unassuming spot (and they have a helluva view). Prices varied, honestly on the high end, but this is a nice restaurant, not a corner fast food Thai place. We ordered the spring rolls and I had a Pad Thai with beef. The pad thai was $12 and change and the spring rolls were about $6 and change. Service was decently fast but it was during lunch so I would have expected better since we were the only ones there at 12:00 PM. The spring rolls were perfectly fried and delicious. The complimentary shrimp chips were also a nice touch. When I received my pad thai, I was a little shocked at the portion. It was quite large, so big points to this place for backing up their higher prices with good quantity of food. I'd have to say that I've had a few thai restaurants before and this pad thai was certainly one of the better ones I have had. Loved that everything was seasoned well, the herbs were fresh, and it was pretty perfect other than the fact the beef was not as tender as it could have been.
