Our experience illustrates all the problems with being asked to tip in advance for takeout. We ordered chicken Pad Thai (Spice Level 2 out of 10), Wonton Noodle Soup with Pork added, a $13 Salad that comes with a peanut dressing and a $19 crispy pork Basil Specialty. Our pickup window was 30-40 minutes after our order. It was ready 15 minutes after that. The salad is not a good value at $13. And they forgot the peanut dressing which made the salad essentially valueless since we're traveling. The Pad Thai was the least attractive Pad Thai I've had in years. It was all pale color. No pops of green from onions or fresh herbs. Barely any crushed peanuts, and what was there was bellow average. And it was way spicier than it should have been given our 2 out of 10 spice request. It should have been fairly mild. The person who ordered the Pad Thai couldn't even eat it. I tried it. It was probably a 6 or 7 for most people. It tasted good btw. My son's Crispy Pork Basil Stir Fry tasted fine. But at $19, the serving size was smaller than it should have been. It was the least full entree takeout container from a Thai restaurant I can remember. My wonton noodle soup was generally good. The broth had good flavor. The pork was what you'd expect. The wontons were at best average though. We made this order through their online service. They add a convenience fee. And you're asked to leave a tip in advance. We left a 20% tip. We have ordered from Thai Chang several times and everytime someone would get the drunken noodles so we know what the base level of spice should be. Knowing that, here was our experience... One person ordered it and requested a spice level of 1 out of 10 with shrimp and the other requested a spice level of 5 with veg. When we went to pick it up the worker noticed there was a mistake and they mixed up the spice levels so they said they'd remake it and had us wait another 20 minutes. When we took the food home the veg order, with the level of 5 spice, had a table spoon of red pepper flakes dumped on top of it, not even mixed in, as if that's how they fixed their mistake. And a tablespoon of red pepper flakes is not a level 5 spice. It was off the charts inedible spicy. And this is someone who likes spicy and normally puts hot sauce on everything but was being cautious with the 5 because she's pregnant. The level 1 plate tasted like they did nothing to fix it and it was still a 5 which was inedible for that person cause of digestion issues. When we called to complain the lady on the phone tried arguing "this is thai food and is supposed to be spicy". She did not want to accept that they'd made mistakes. We fought until she gave in and said they'd remake it and then we had to drive 30 minutes back to the restaurant to pick up the new order, which she did not have waiting. She refused to start making it until we got there, so another 20 minute wait. While waiting she pulled out a chart and tried showing us what a 1 and 5 are on spice levels. I don't know why, it's something we should have been showing to her. But she was incredibly rude and patronizing. No apology, no discount for having to run back and forth and wait so long. And remember, one of the diners was pregnant. We used to love this place but this mistake and that worker/owner? made us decide never to return. Oh and the portion size is offensively small for what you pay. The plates are getting smaller and the price bigger the longer they sit there. No thank you. Not worth it. read more

Its in a strip mall. They don't have much for ambiance so you may prejudge it incorrectly. The waitress was pleasant but oddly dressed. She had on what seemed like a Halloween costume with heavy makeup, piercings everywhere and was in see through tights, with a liatard and a cape. Went here cuz of the highly rated reviews but was somewhat disappointed. I liked the steamed veggie dumplings (5 dumplings), but my mom said it was bland. Neither of us could tell what veggies were in it. Definitely nothing like Tibetan dumplings, which're stuffed & have 8 dumplings. We also got shrimp salad which I liked, but my mom said it was ok. The seafood fried rice ($18ish) was really bland. I wuda appreciated sauce on the side, like soy sauce. It only had 1 tiny squid ring, 2 shrimps, 2 clams. Most of the seafood was fish. I like an even amount of variety when it comes to seafood. It's also def overpriced considering the taste & the portion of the food. We popped in on New Year's Eve to dine in. They seem to do a really strong takeout business. We tried the fried curry puffs, mango curry (spice level 3) and drunken noodles (spice level 4). The food was ok. Nothing special and not what I would call good Thai food. The puffs didn't have much flavor. The noodles had flavor but were not your typical drunken noodles. We had hardly any chicken in either the curry or the noodles. If you are looking for a break from the sandwiches and pizza that seem to be ubiquitous in the Poconos- here you go! I totally forgot to snap a photo of my food, but it was absolutely amazing! Every bite was packed with flavor. I had the drunken noodles and curry puffs--the pastry on the puffs was perfectly flaky and soft, and the filling had a great balance of meat and potatoes. Visiting from out of town and everything closes pretty earlier up here than where I am from. Last minute my family of 8 ppl were scrambling to find something good to eat to accommodate everyone and something quick to take back to our house. We were at Walmart up the road and looked up food close by and Thai Chang came up in the next plaza over. We decided that's where we were going to go and I am so glad we did. We walked in and the restaurant was small but cute and very clean. The young lady at the front desk was very nice. She also answered the questions we had about if things were hot or not and what the popular items were. We decided on the Thai Chang Wings, Garlic wings, crab ragoons, fresh ginger with shrimp and Thai fried rice with shrimp. When I say all the food was good it was soo good. The wings were my fav I loved the Thai wings, they were crispy and they put the sauce on the side for you to add so they don't get soggy. The garlic wings, the sauce was added but I'm sure they can put that on the side as well. I would definitely come back here if I'm in the area again. Definitely give it a try. read more

Everything was delicious, as good as any Thai restaurant I've been to in Washington, DC, Philadelphia and New York. Great food and really great service. Very very friendly. There's no real good Thai food in PA, except this place. It's an hour drive, but on the recommendation of someone else, we gave it a try and I'm so glad we did. We'll definately make the trip again. We'll maybe try their Stroudsberg location next time for variety as I hear it's just as good. But we really liked the service at the Mount Pocono store. A good problem to have! read more

Oh man we were staying at a hotel nearby and their day restaurant closed so we needed some grub. Needed vegan options too and luckily we saw this place was 8 min away.
