Fantastic flavors. You can tell they don't use canned curry paste or if they do, they must use fresh spices as well. These are some of the most developed Thai flavors I've ever had. The menu is limited, but everything we have tried so far has been interesting and unique. We highly recommend the Pad Thai and the Panang curry. The "street" Pad Khee Mao (spaghetti) is very different. We've eaten a lot of Thai food and this one was new to us. This dish has a kick. Be aware of that if you are sensitive to spicy foods. The stewed pork is absolutely amazing. So much flavor. Plus the service is great. The owner recognized my husband after he'd only been there once. We are very lucky that this opened up close to us. Right now it is open for dinner only during the weekdays. Hopefully it will open for lunch as well. They are open for lunch on Saturdays. read more

The food here is take out, so I have no comments about table service. I had Khao Kha Moo ( stewed pork leg), my partner had Pad Thai chicken. We were very pleased. Both dishes were very flavorful and accompanied by a sauce and Thai spice on the side. We had the street meals, not as large as the elegant servings. We both had enough food for two meals. The pork was tender, the rice had very good texture (significant for chopstick users), and my dish was accompanied by a hard boiled egg and a very large mushroom. Both had been marinated, both were delicious, and the texture of the mushroom was perfect. I will be a repeat customer. read more

Price point and portion sizes are area average which sucks but rent is what it is these days for Sammamish. The food was above average, I enjoyed being able to taste the vegetables in my dishs over hot oil or coconut milk. The seasoning to make each dish unique was on point so that fried rice tastes like fried rice... Panang tastes like Panang, Pad Thai tastes like Pad Thai. My only recommendation is if you like your food spicy, go 1 star higher than you ordinarily would otherwise I really like this restaurant and the staff, they know how long each dish takes if you're eating in or waiting, which has helped me use my time appropriately. read more

Staff is friendly. The place is bright and clean. I was very disappointed in the food we ordered. Off night ??? The pork meatballs were charred or burnt in spots, which gave them a burnt taste in my mouth. Some people might like them, I did not care for them at all. They just did not seem like they were homemade fresh meatballs, they also had a rubbery texture to them, which screams mass produced at a meatball factory. I could be wrong, but being Italian I have made & had a few thousand meatballs in my life. The fried tofu appetizer was very good & tasty & so was the dipping sauce. The Pad Thai was not the best, I have been eating at Thai restaurants since the late 70's. This wasn't the worst but it was flavorless and it had very heavy, sticky noodles ...again did not seem like it was freshly made on the spot. I ordered the prawn Pad Thai and the prawns were cooked perfectly, but the prawns had a weird metal taste to them. After eating 2, I stopped eating them & I had ordered extra prawns in my order. There was small bits of fried tofu in the Pad Thai and they were horrible tasting, not fresh in anyway. They seemed pre-cook and then just added to the dish. The sticky rice was so over cooked, it was almost translucent in color. I didn't seem like freshly cooked rice to me. I could get better tasting sticky rice from my microwave ..and why was the rice covered in aluminum foil ??? They say limited menu to concentrate on a few items ...but a Thai restaurant without fresh or spring rolls or no Thai soup is disappointing to me. My husband ordered tofu Pad Thai and he said it was flavorless. He did have a cold and wasn't sure if it was because of the cold or because it was just a flavorless meal. I passed on trying it. One star for Friendly staff & clean place. One star for the Fried tofu. Bottom line when I think of Thai I always think of freshly made food that has exciting & flavory tasty. This is my new favorite Thai restaurant in the Pacific NorthWest! I've been looking for a place that can rival Nong's Khao Man Gai in Portland, and have discovered just the place! Their Thai Chicken Rice (Khao Man Gai) comes with an incredibly flavorful sauce, and perfect rice that's cooked in broth! I'm salivating just thinking about having it again! I've also tried their Spaghetti Kee Mao, and the flavor was to die for! I will be trying all their other dishes on subsequent trips. I also highly recommend the Yuzu Honey Lemon tea. It was suggested by them, and is one of the most refreshing drinks I have ever tried. The service is also excellent, and the owner will answer any questions you have in great detail. They don't have indoor seating yet, but there are plenty of tables outside where you can sit and eat. I can't wait to be back! read more

Tried this place tonight with 4 items: mango sticky rice, papaya salad, chicken panang curry, and fried chicken. Mango sticky rice, at $13 for supposedly large size, is way overpriced. The portion is almost equivalent to what one would normally get at Thai restaurants for much less. Definitely less than what another reviewer posted. Didn't appear to be from one whole mango and the rice and coconut sauce were very meager for $13. Salad could use more citrus and maybe fish sauce or whatever it is that makes this salad tasty elsewhere. Panang curry is just OK and came with just a few slices of bell pepper. Fried chicken was the best of the lot. It's good we gave this a try despite the underwhelming outcome. I'm not sure how it got 4.5 stars from almost 30 reviews. For the price and quality, I definitely would not go back nor recommend it; but then again Bai Tong and other Thai restaurants are near where I live. Delicious, flavorful food. The Thai BBQ pork was amazing! The Thai tea is quite different than the kind that you'd normally get at the other Thai restaurants. I appreciated the full body and lightly sweetened taste of the tea. My husband lamented that it wasn't the usual (sickeningly) sweet drink that he's fond of. Just finished a take out order from Thai Trio. I went ahead in spite of recent not great reviews. I will start with the best and end with the worst. We ordered the Penang curry with chicken extra protein, chicken pad thai with extra protien, Thai style BBQ pork with sticky rice, Thai fried chicken 4 pcs 1. The Penang curry was 5/5 stars 2. Chicken Pad Thai was fine, sauce was good, portion was small despite extra protein. 4/5 stars 3. The Thai style BBQ pork with sticky rice 2/5, the pork was fatty and unexceptional. About 2/3 of the meat was edible. But fatter and lacking flavor. 4. Thai fried chicken, 4 pc, 3/5, ok but you can get better at your local QFC or grocer. Sauces were good. 5. We got both Jasmine rice and sticky rice with our order. Both were glutinous and way to sticky. I am not sure if they were over cooked or just sitting for a long time but either way, yuck......nice sauces helped to loosen them up. Take away, would only go back for Penang curry. There are much better Thai places in the area. read more

My daughter and I tried the Phad Thai and the Papaya Salad there on 6/28/23 during the soft opening. We both enjoyed the delicious flavors of both dishes. The Papaya salad was so fresh and flavorful, they even gave me extra spice for my salad since I asked for 4 stars and making salads spicy can be challenging. I appreciated the extra thought! My 14 year old daughter is picky about her Phad Thai and this is her favorite! She is already asking to return! She tried the Milky Mango and it was amazing! The food is truly delicious and the service is very friendly, welcoming, and cheerful. We tried the Thai-style Barbecue Pork with Sticky Rice, the Pad Thai Tofu, and Classic Thai Tea. The barbecue was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The sauce on the side was unique and a great accompaniment. The Pad Thai comes with little containers of extra spice and chopped nuts and every bite was full of delicious flavors. Portions are more generous than we've had in other restaurants and it's hard to stop eating and save the leftovers because of it being so tasty. Will definitely be back.
